@jonopat One cow got stuck in the parlor. Too much meteal through which the cows have to go through. And they have a young milker who does not even stimulate the udders and teats by squeezing them and wiping them with hot water. I wish I could speak to the owner of the cows. He probably is his father and does not care what the boy does.
@jonopat there r huge rotaries. The cows keep coming the man keeps applying machines. The machines come off by themselves. But the people are filthy. They do not make sure that the milk is flowing freely through the teats before applying the cups because the rotary is moving too fast. They need to slow it down. But you have a nice parlor if you are milking 10 cows at a time. But I believe you mean only 5 cows on side are being milked 5 r waiting on the other side 2 be milked.
To restart the hormone you have to come back after about 30 minutes and start squeezing her udders. A fresh supply of hormone will be produced and the milk will start producing again. When I was the herd manager I did this with my cows. The cows got milked four times but not every eight hours. The cows were producing four times the milk they were producing before I took over. And here you are boasting about how many cows you milk at a time. How much milk You leave in the udder.
@jonopat@jonopat The important thing is not how many cows you can milk at a time but how much milk the farmers leave in the udders. The farmers do not know why the milk starts flowing out of the teats. It is because of a hormone the cow produces when its udders are squeezed. This hormone causes the spongy udder tissue to contract and expand causing the tissue to release the milk. But there is only so much of the hormone. After the hormone is finished the milk will stop coming out. Contd
@cabletie007 Milking cows is a lot of fun. I milked lots of cows in my life. I'm sorry I gave up milking the cows. I milked the cows straight in my mouth. It was so addicting. My arteries got clogged with cholesteral because of the milk I drank. I gave up milking cows. I wish I had just given up milking cows in my mouth. It was fun to have the milk strike the inside of my mouth. I've to take Lipitor daily now. I'd to have my arteries cleaned n have a stent placed. U can't drink fat.
@firecongress lean beef is one of the leanest forms of protein out there. and calcium is a critical nutrient for humans. my dad does the low carb diet and consisting mostly of beef and cheese-and not necessarily low fat-and actually has low cholesterol, while many people who strictly follow a 'balanced diet of low fats and healthy carbs still have trouble with their cholesterol and weight and have to be on meds because of it!
What are these people trying to prove? They can use a filter and milk the cows without cleaning the udder and the teats? That is not the reason filters are used. Filters are used only as a precaution. First thing to do is to make sure the udders are clean when you apply the milking machine. It is like pouring the milking out into mud and than sopping it up and filtering it with the filtering system. It is really very irresponsible.

@brujanegra U can make a good living milking cows for farmers. Herd managers of herds of 500 cows make $50,000 per year. Buy your own cow don't break take calf away from cow. be happy calf of your cow is with its mother. You'll never be able to stop calves being taken away from cows. I've been a manager of a herd of 1000 cows in Wisconsin. I'd a couple of cows suckle the calves of all the cows 4 @ a time. Rest were milked. Heavy milkers were milked 4x.

imagine a 600°C hot burning devise predded to your head for 2-3- min- happens to calves for dehorning; imagine you were born with such big breasts that you can merely walk with them- happens to cows; imagine you were bred to produce so much milk that your body is always on the edge of a collaps, because you just can`t eat the amount of energy you would need to produce this abnormal mass of milk! nobody would ever do thus cruelties to humans nowaday! ..and brooken or docked tails...lamenesses.!

"600 degree hot burning devise predded to your head for 2-3 mins" Sorry to say this mate, but you're actually a little bit wrong there...
The calf gets an injection of local anesthetic into the occipital groove to make sure it is fully numb, then the iron is pressed around the bud of where the horn would eventually grow, then it simply comes out, in a matter of what, 10seconds? I'm sorry to burst your bubble, but seriously get your facts straight.
I can send you lots of sientific investigations about dehorning- and it is exactly like I wrote it (10 seconds needs the BUddex- but most farmers do not use it). And do you really believe farmers use other drugs than sedation?( which does NOT elicit the pain!!!) - most of them use no medication at all-in Europe farmers are not allowed to do injections with anaestesia...and no farmer will pay a vet to dehorn the calves!!!
If you want to send me all of these scientific investigations, then be my guest! I've seen them all, infact there is a chance I have written some of them... "in Europe farmers are not allowed to do injections with anaestesia.." Well I am a farmer in England, which is in the UK, which is in Europe. And we are talking about disbudidng, not dehoring- these are different things.
of course we are talking about disbudding, when we are talking about burning the buds. If you want to have the papers, please send me your e-mail- then i can send you the pdfs. And it is quite intresting that english farmers are allowed to posess anaesthetics- in most europeen countries that is forbidden by law....only vets are allowed to inject it.
by the way- anaestetics alone do not elicit the pain- you have to use an anti -inflammatory drug as well.
Not burning the buds, but removing them. And the buds themself have no nerve endings in them, so the anaesthetic is for the heat, and then after the buds are removed, they are sprayed with a Oxytetracycline solution, which will stop any infection or swelling develop in the calf.
Administering anaesthetic in Europe is not illegal to do yourself, I think you are getting confused with administering any sort of intravenous drug without the presence of a vet being there, but there is of course exceptions where the farmer can administer this, and this is not against the law- but anaesthetic for a numbing purpose, is most definatly not against the law.
If you want to send me those pdf formatted documents, then feel free to send them to my youtube acount, I'm sure I would get great pleasure from reading them!
I cannot attach them in the youtube mail. And I am sure that it is NO pleasure to read them. Did you ever disbud a calf??? Not the buds alone are burned, but the whole area of skin around as well (there will grow scurs otherwise)...and that skin is FULL of nerve endings!!!! And If you only use anaesthetic the pain will reoccur 2 hours after disbudding, when the anaesthetic has worn off.
bud inside it. In the end, a small amount of pain or discomfort is inevitable, but it is only the same as having an operation, when you come round and the anaesthetic has worn off, pain will follow- and then this is treated by the doctor. It's very similar on a farm, but the animals are the patients and the farmer is the doctor. Disbudding a calf is just one of those things that have to be done to keep all of the other animals and farm staff safer.
In my lifetime I must have disbud around 100-200 calves, so I think I have the hang of it. How many have you done? If any, you will know that the hot iron is only big enough to fit the
it is not a small amount...and it is no operation - it is a burn!- it is done without pain alleviation and it is a burn of third degree. Burn patients need long therm pain relieving drungs...but to those babies nobody will give something against the pain.
It's not against the law to posses it. I think I should know, I'm doing a degree in Agriculture at Bishop Burton College- if anyone should know I imagine it would be these guys! Your ignorance is just overwhelming, have you ever disbud a calf in your life?
And calves are not babies- babies are human, cows are not. They do get something for the pain though!! Can you not seem to get your head around the facts?
may be it is allowed in England- on the continent it is forbidden...I know that, because I am teacher in agriculture classes at the university AND because I had contact to many farmers who wanted to use anaesthesia and could not because of the law. And by the way- pain perception in calves is not different from human pain perception!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should send me your e-mail, that I can send you the papers against your ignorance!!!
You are clearly not a lecturer, these people need to know facts and not spread propaganda. Of course it isn't, we are human, they are not. Things will of course be different, occasionally if a calf breaks it's leg, it would keep walking on it, untill you see the swelling, which could be a couple of days- as i'm sure you know, what with you being a lecturer and all...
......as clearly as you know all the other things, .... and it is not propaganda- these are facts!!! pain perception in animals is the same as in humans- as the nerve system, structures and perception of the impulses in the brain are just the same as in humans. You should not write about things you just guess, without having a clue!!
Oh for goodness' sake. Please just give it a rest, don't talk about something you pretend to know something about, because you clearly don't, you have never disbud a calf, you have never been a lecturer at a university, you have never worker on a farm, so please just shut the fuck up. END.
Hi all , just a small comment about the calves in Dairies, Our calves are taken form their mothers within 24 hours of birth and hand raised , we use sexed semen to produce 99 percent of heifers only, they are then raised and fed and cared for with TLC so they can be raised to join our growing herd, No veal on our dairy Farm Thanx
Seriously, go visit a farm then throw your ideas around, You are MORE than welcome to look around mine. I will tell you anything you want/needed to know, then come back on here and then you can actually give some hard based FACTS.
I do not know y u waste your time responding to idiots who do not want the cows to be milked. I'd like to take up your offer to visit your farm and present the facts to the idiots who don't like the cows to get milked. I'll not change their minds`.But they will have some competition from people like me who say that milking the cows is for their own good.
Calves are taken from the mother for there own safety. Cows are not very smart and will step on or even lay on a calf if it gets under foot. That is why the calf is taken away. A Good dairy farmer treats his cows very well becase that is how they make a living.
You forgot the part about the calves who are torn away from their mothers 48hrs after birth then concealed in cages as veal calves. Not to mention the bellowing mothers who dispear for days, weeks sometimes months.
just shut up spottypony. how much you wanna bet this guy probably hasnt even been to a dairy farm."the calves who are torn away from their mothers 48hrs after birth then concealed in cages as veal calves. Not to mention the bellowing mothers who dispear for days, weeks sometimes months."MY ASS!
@leaton1127 How long after your birth you were torn away from your mother. I'm sure you must be very mad at your mother for tearing you away from her. You must think you were still sucking her milk instead of drinking a cows milk cause u think the cows milk belongs to her calf or her baby as u would call it and your mom's milk belongs to u although u r now a fifty seven year old man. Wake up. Stop watching milking videos and thinking about tearing away of the calves from Cows.
@arnoldnavarro21 Y r u so worried about the calves. These farmers hire a man to bottle feed the calves. farmers have 1 cow feed all the calves at the farm (4 at a time)..That saves labors. I just returned from a farm. I doubled his milk output and cut his labor costs. But I do not know why r u worried about calves. Y not stay away from the U tube. Cows, goats, sheeps, camels have been milked for eon years. Just because u r worried the farmers will not stop milking. Calves r very happy.
@fakir0005 listen id love to beleave its sugar drops lolly pops it would make my pizza taist better!!! but dont u guys kill the un wanted calfs??? it cant all be sanctioned come on be honest nowone is gonna give a shit some of the unwanted calf get killed dont they???
@arnoldnavarro21 Where did you get the idea of unwanted calves. The Calves are not human babies. Human babies are unwanted. The mothers give the babies for adoption. No calves are unwanted. The farmer will sell the calves he does not want to keep. If he kills it is because he wants its meat, not because it is unwanted. People kill cows because they want its meat. They kill chicken cause they want meat. That is how it goes. People want milk. They buy cows or buy the milk from people who have cows
@leaton1127 How the hell you got the ides that the cows disappear. Must be owned by a stupid farmer who does not know how to manage the cows. The cows stay in the herd with the other cows. If they hire a young guy like this in the video the cows will disappear because they know that they can get away with it. There is no place for the cows to disappear. There are fences every where. The only place for them to go to is to the field for grazing and to the milking parlor and to the barn.
@leaton1127 You are a calf advocate are not you. Only your advocacy does not help the calves. People want the milk so they take the calves and kids away. Where did you get the 48 hours figures. Some farmers may not separate the calves from the cows ever. Others may separate them minutes later. You have no knowledge at all.
i dont know if we do actually force them to be pregnant all of their lives, if you look at nature, almost all animals give birth once every year (many animals give birth much more often). that is a 365 day cycle. cows on dairy farms usually get about 400 days in between calvings, so i will let you be the judge on that one.
That argument usually proves to be one of the weaker ones, and comes from people who dont know how to analyze the situation
And how should I analyze the situation? Should I just look on it with gratitude that nature made this animal to make so much milk for it's calves so that we could take the milk after taking the calf away?
Plus, unless I am mistaken, alot of dairy farmers impregnate the cows through artificial insemination, not through bulls. (I don't know much on this...so yeah.)
I don't know. I choose not to partake in cow's milk, because I believe it is wrong. But if you want it, have at it. :P
I don't really see that happening, because I'm minorely (how the crap do you spell "minorly"?) lactose intolerant, and I just feel better without drinking the milk of another species.
I just think artificial insemination, and taking the calf away, and all the drugs and stuff used to make the cow make more milk is wrong.
I kind of see it as a bizarre form of stealing.
But yeah. Just my two cents. I think I will visit a dairy farm, though.
people always say "all of the drugs" and hormones and stuff that farmers give their cows to make them make more milk, that isnt true at all, not a word of truth, in canada its illegal, and in the US its going out because the milk processors advertise hormone free so the other milk doesnt sell. I live/work on a dairy farm, and pretty much the only medication we have is penecillin for if a cow is sick, and if we have problems penecillen cant solve we get the vet in, pretty much like humans do.
milk is one of the healthiest beverages in the world!
One thing i should add though, is that sometimes cows do get a hormone shot to trigger ovulation, if cows become infertile they are useless to a dairy farmer and waste the little money the farmers make so they would be slaughtered otherwise. These hormones however are about as dangerous to the cow as a contraceptive is to a human, and after they are given it their milk is not used until the hormone is gone to ensure it wont contaminate milk
The problem is that humans are the only mammals on earth that are never weaned. We go from human milk from our mom's (or a formula), to another species' milk.
I find that to be a bit of a problem. Why do we feel that we need to drink another animal's bodyfluids? It just doesn't make any sense to me.
Why does it bother u that people milk another mammal? Do yourself a favor. Get out of milking video are. U r not going to get the milking of cows stopped. Only your heart might fail and you might die.
Some people like to hold the teats in their hands. They get a kick. Some people like to hold the tits of women in their hands. I think u r a faggot not attracted to udders and to tits and to breasts. I don't know y u keep on hanging aroound the milking video area.
Tell me why r u so much bothere. Y don't u get the hell out of this area. No boody is taking any calf away. It is in your sick head. See a shrink. U must be sick to worry about things that u should not be seeing.
@PwnBucket to add to what 942119 said, if they have been given any kind of medicine for sickness at all the milk is not put in the tank but is dumped out. so you can't even claim that someone is unknowingly getting penicillin or anything of the sort. I grew up on a dairy farm so I will back up what they said as true.
What was the purpose of the hanging bucket to let the cows know it is time to exit the parlor.

may be it is allowed in England- on the continent it is forbidden...I know that, because I am teacher in agriculture classes at the university AND because I had contact to many farmers who wanted to use anaesthesia and could not because of the law. And by the way- pain perception in calves is not different from human pain perception!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You should send me your e-mail, that I can send you the papers against your ignorance!!!
brujanegra 2 years ago
You are clearly not a lecturer, these people need to know facts and not spread propaganda. Of course it isn't, we are human, they are not. Things will of course be different, occasionally if a calf breaks it's leg, it would keep walking on it, untill you see the swelling, which could be a couple of days- as i'm sure you know, what with you being a lecturer and all...
04elliottg 2 years ago
......as clearly as you know all the other things, .... and it is not propaganda- these are facts!!! pain perception in animals is the same as in humans- as the nerve system, structures and perception of the impulses in the brain are just the same as in humans. You should not write about things you just guess, without having a clue!!
brujanegra 2 years ago
Oh for goodness' sake. Please just give it a rest, don't talk about something you pretend to know something about, because you clearly don't, you have never disbud a calf, you have never been a lecturer at a university, you have never worker on a farm, so please just shut the fuck up. END.

Cow's can and will lay down on the calf by accident but it does happen.
aledplas123 2 years ago
yea that happened to one of our calves last winter, killed him. now we keep all the calves on the other side of the farm
Hondarider14250 2 years ago
Hi all , just a small comment about the calves in Dairies, Our calves are taken form their mothers within 24 hours of birth and hand raised , we use sexed semen to produce 99 percent of heifers only, they are then raised and fed and cared for with TLC so they can be raised to join our growing herd, No veal on our dairy Farm Thanx
wranglerbutt89 2 years ago
TLC....so having a child and then having it taken away from you within a day of it's birth is TLC...
Wow.
PwnBucket 2 years ago
Seriously, go visit a farm then throw your ideas around, You are MORE than welcome to look around mine. I will tell you anything you want/needed to know, then come back on here and then you can actually give some hard based FACTS.
04elliottg 2 years ago
I do not know y u waste your time responding to idiots who do not want the cows to be milked. I'd like to take up your offer to visit your farm and present the facts to the idiots who don't like the cows to get milked. I'll not change their minds`.But they will have some competition from people like me who say that milking the cows is for their own good.

Calves are taken from the mother for there own safety. Cows are not very smart and will step on or even lay on a calf if it gets under foot. That is why the calf is taken away. A Good dairy farmer treats his cows very well becase that is how they make a living.
gcwfblock 3 years ago
Also for the risk of disese the calf should spend more than 30 mins with the mother.
Traveler24 3 years ago
good show, cows seem content and clean. Spotty needs to know that I and my family will continue to eat all dairy products, including veal. B
orbit15 3 years ago
You forgot the part about the calves who are torn away from their mothers 48hrs after birth then concealed in cages as veal calves. Not to mention the bellowing mothers who dispear for days, weeks sometimes months.
I'm not buying the lies. I'm vegan.
SpottyPony 3 years ago
People like you just don't understand that the population of the world has to eat, I ain't even going to argue with you.

just shut up spottypony. how much you wanna bet this guy probably hasnt even been to a dairy farm."the calves who are torn away from their mothers 48hrs after birth then concealed in cages as veal calves. Not to mention the bellowing mothers who dispear for days, weeks sometimes months."MY ASS!
leaton1127 3 years ago 4
@leaton1127 How long after your birth you were torn away from your mother. I'm sure you must be very mad at your mother for tearing you away from her. You must think you were still sucking her milk instead of drinking a cows milk cause u think the cows milk belongs to her calf or her baby as u would call it and your mom's milk belongs to u although u r now a fifty seven year old man. Wake up. Stop watching milking videos and thinking about tearing away of the calves from Cows.

@mahafakir soo what happens to the calfs???
arnoldnavarro21 1 year ago
@arnoldnavarro21 Y r u so worried about the calves. These farmers hire a man to bottle feed the calves. farmers have 1 cow feed all the calves at the farm (4 at a time)..That saves labors. I just returned from a farm. I doubled his milk output and cut his labor costs. But I do not know why r u worried about calves. Y not stay away from the U tube. Cows, goats, sheeps, camels have been milked for eon years. Just because u r worried the farmers will not stop milking. Calves r very happy.

@fakir0005 listen id love to beleave its sugar drops lolly pops it would make my pizza taist better!!! but dont u guys kill the un wanted calfs??? it cant all be sanctioned come on be honest nowone is gonna give a shit some of the unwanted calf get killed dont they???
arnoldnavarro21 1 year ago
@arnoldnavarro21 Where did you get the idea of unwanted calves. The Calves are not human babies. Human babies are unwanted. The mothers give the babies for adoption. No calves are unwanted. The farmer will sell the calves he does not want to keep. If he kills it is because he wants its meat, not because it is unwanted. People kill cows because they want its meat. They kill chicken cause they want meat. That is how it goes. People want milk. They buy cows or buy the milk from people who have cows
fakir0005 9 months ago
@leaton1127 How the hell you got the ides that the cows disappear. Must be owned by a stupid farmer who does not know how to manage the cows. The cows stay in the herd with the other cows. If they hire a young guy like this in the video the cows will disappear because they know that they can get away with it. There is no place for the cows to disappear. There are fences every where. The only place for them to go to is to the field for grazing and to the milking parlor and to the barn.
fakir0005 1 year ago
@leaton1127 You are a calf advocate are not you. Only your advocacy does not help the calves. People want the milk so they take the calves and kids away. Where did you get the 48 hours figures. Some farmers may not separate the calves from the cows ever. Others may separate them minutes later. You have no knowledge at all.
fakir0005 9 months ago
yah have you ever been to a dairy farm? spottypony?
942119 3 years ago
It is still rather sad that to get milk, we take the calves from their mothers.
And we force them to be pregnant all of their lives.
And the population of the world could eat...if we stopped feeding the majority of our food to the animals that we eat.
Just saying, though.
PwnBucket 2 years ago
i dont know if we do actually force them to be pregnant all of their lives, if you look at nature, almost all animals give birth once every year (many animals give birth much more often). that is a 365 day cycle. cows on dairy farms usually get about 400 days in between calvings, so i will let you be the judge on that one.
That argument usually proves to be one of the weaker ones, and comes from people who dont know how to analyze the situation
942119 2 years ago
And how should I analyze the situation? Should I just look on it with gratitude that nature made this animal to make so much milk for it's calves so that we could take the milk after taking the calf away?
Plus, unless I am mistaken, alot of dairy farmers impregnate the cows through artificial insemination, not through bulls. (I don't know much on this...so yeah.)
I don't know. I choose not to partake in cow's milk, because I believe it is wrong. But if you want it, have at it. :P
PwnBucket 2 years ago
I'd say go visit a dairy farm and talk to the farmers, see how comfortable the cows are, see if they are happy.
Yes, artificial insemination is most common, i dont see why this changes things, probably doesnt at all
hopefully you change your mind and can drink milk soon!
942119 2 years ago
I don't really see that happening, because I'm minorely (how the crap do you spell "minorly"?) lactose intolerant, and I just feel better without drinking the milk of another species.
I just think artificial insemination, and taking the calf away, and all the drugs and stuff used to make the cow make more milk is wrong.
I kind of see it as a bizarre form of stealing.
But yeah. Just my two cents. I think I will visit a dairy farm, though.
PwnBucket 2 years ago
people always say "all of the drugs" and hormones and stuff that farmers give their cows to make them make more milk, that isnt true at all, not a word of truth, in canada its illegal, and in the US its going out because the milk processors advertise hormone free so the other milk doesnt sell. I live/work on a dairy farm, and pretty much the only medication we have is penecillin for if a cow is sick, and if we have problems penecillen cant solve we get the vet in, pretty much like humans do.
942119 2 years ago
Well, I think it's going to have hormones in it anyway...natural hormones from the cow.
There is just no reason to drink/use the stuff, in my opinion. The alternatives are better, have less fat, and seem to be better for you.
PwnBucket 2 years ago
milk is one of the healthiest beverages in the world!
942119 2 years ago
The problem is that humans are the only mammals on earth that are never weaned. We go from human milk from our mom's (or a formula), to another species' milk.
I find that to be a bit of a problem. Why do we feel that we need to drink another animal's bodyfluids? It just doesn't make any sense to me.
Peace.
PwnBucket 2 years ago
Why does it bother u that people milk another mammal? Do yourself a favor. Get out of milking video are. U r not going to get the milking of cows stopped. Only your heart might fail and you might die.

Some people like to hold the teats in their hands. They get a kick. Some people like to hold the tits of women in their hands. I think u r a faggot not attracted to udders and to tits and to breasts. I don't know y u keep on hanging aroound the milking video area.
mahafakir 2 years ago
Tell me why r u so much bothere. Y don't u get the hell out of this area. No boody is taking any calf away. It is in your sick head. See a shrink. U must be sick to worry about things that u should not be seeing.
mahafakir 2 years ago
@PwnBucket to add to what 942119 said, if they have been given any kind of medicine for sickness at all the milk is not put in the tank but is dumped out. so you can't even claim that someone is unknowingly getting penicillin or anything of the sort. I grew up on a dairy farm so I will back up what they said as true.

keeping veal calves in cages isnt even allowed now so get your facts right before you start spreading lies
