The armor was actually pretty good in Monster Hunter 1, though it probably sucks by todays standards. It also added to rather convenient def and res.

Thunder = 0

Water = 0

Fire = 0

Dragon = 1 (positive or negative, can't remember)

That's for MH1 anyway. Last I checked for MHFU, the stats were totally different.

@jonnywazhere hay just buy a boneblade keep upgrading it till it ses dragon igeto upgrade 1 more time then u have a whay good wepen for cuting him up but if u like hamers ten buy a irin hammer upgrsde it and later u will have a option to upgrade it to the war mace i did at feirst but dont at the bottom it ses bone axe upgrad to theat keep upgrading it and later u will have a upgrade option to where it has 800 something attack power and the matireals are ril easy to get ok hope this helps

@FishySeven Not really. In the PSP series they made area 9 larger, so camera issues are not as much of a problem. If you really hate fighting in 9 though, try bringing dung bombs to force him away.

@hayuku hey man im hr1 aswel but i hav a stronger armor set. try this: gypceros helm - 40 defence, hermitaur mail - 42 defence, makluva sleeves - 38 defence, blango tasset - 46 defence and conga greaves 38 defence. thats roughly 200. (these are all uprgraded wiv armor sphere). as for th weapon i personaly use viper bite wiv paralize attribute but thats up 2 u :)

@mr96s For Rathalos I recomend to cut the tail AND capture him to increase chances. As for other monsters, break the wings.

this is a long fight what weapon u have on you and how good you are is how fast it will be but 4 fun i like to kill it with the deadly poison it takes a bit but hay in the end it is on the floor and that is what i go 4 a dead dragon

Well, flashbombs will knock him out of the sky and keep him grounded, but once it wears off he'll just fly away right after.

@Vaoris I got him out of the sky once using that method, but it glitched and he landed on the trees blow me and he was out of reach. So annoying. Would you say it is best to use a lance ot greatsword as he is slow but also alot of weak points. 4 days to go till tri!!

Greatsword is probably the best for hit n run tactics. Really it comes down to personal preference, if you are better with the lance than a greatsword, then by all means a lance would probably suit you better against Rathalos.

Flashbombs will knock him out of the sky, but your best bet is to just sit it out. It can be annoying, but so long as you know his traveling patterns it shouldn't be mission breaking.

You will need rathalos wing if im not wrong to make his head armor piece. Usually in MHF, items that are crucially required for the armor to appear needs to be at least one. If you get 0 if that items, the armor will disappear until you get that item again. In this case, i think its rathalos wing( im not too sure). To get rathalos wing, try breaking his wing while killing him. If killing him is too hard for you, try capturing him instead using a pitfall trap and tranq bomb.

The same way you get Rathalos rubies, only in G-Rank quests. Carving the tail and finding them in rewards. The fastest way to get them would be by capturing the Rathalos after cutting his tail.

yes,i can say that because i still can´t beat him,his rush at area 9 is almost impossible to avoid,the area is too small,if you run for the sides,you still got a hit,if go to back,take a hit

I would suggest not to fight him in that area. If he does happen to enter it, i usually would wait till hes out of that area before i start another attack on him. If you are good at dodging and blocking, that area should not be a problem. Either way, its all about how you plan to kill him. Take your time, he will not last for more than 40 mins usually(Unless you are using some ridiculously low damage weapons). Hope that help xD.

bone G-swords ar a bad idea against the rathalos i used a ravenger blade try mining alot and make one its really one of the easiest Wyverns in the game

Actually, thats just remembering how weak the head is and exploiting to create openings that would normally be unavailable. Its an extremely common tactic amoung the good players.

Dying in two hits is not bad for in rage mode, its pretty much the norm. You can try upgrading your armor with spheres, though it wont increase defense by much.

Since this will be your first Monster Hunter game I would start out as a Sword and Shield player. Its fast, maneuverable and easy to learn. Of course, in Monster Hunter there are no defined "classes" you just start out with a character and equip whatever weapon type you want.

well i would reccomend a greatsword for a close range because of the combo that you can use to never end hitting or a bow if you want long ranged but ranged is usually harder on a single person mission... so uhh yeah go with a GS try to get a khezu shock sword its easy to get and helps through most of the game yo

Equipping armor with the "Expert" skill will improve your affinity, but really just get a better weapon.

Affinity is your chance to do a critical hit. Since yours is negative, that means that 30% of your hits will do less damage than they would normally.

That is an item drop. You can dig by it to receive a reward item that usually will be traded for Pokke points.

Aiming for the head does way more damage, but removing the tail would reduce his effective range. I personally would go for the head, but its really up to you.

You make it look easy, If I have all the equipment, will it be a bonus if I bring a couple of Large barrel bombs and a pitfall trap? And if he goes in rage mode, do I still attack him or wait till he is n ot in rage mode?

The large barrel bombs wouldn't do much, but the pitfall might be useful. When he enters rage mode, you can attack or run around; it would depend on the area, surrounding creatures, and remaining potions. If you do attack, just hit n run on the face whenever he turns towards you.

Avoid laying your trap when he is angry though, because the time the Rathalos is stuck doubles if he is not in rage mode.

Lg Barrel bombs would be more useful as a gunner, but they wouldn't do more damage than just shooting him constantly. Lg Barrel Bomb + is a different story, but thats for MHF2 only.
