@denali637 fairplay, I just meant they sorta frame the whole song. cannonballs solo definitely qualifies as heavenly. In fact I would hate to have to follow that, Miles has a hard act to follow and his style doesn't really meet the raised bar that Adderly has set, in fact I can't even see the bar.
@themistamartin miles doesn't have to say as much. his notes stretch for kilometers . but yeah the piano shreds it, in solo and especially the intro and outro. and that bass vamp in the intro and outro, so spooky - holy begging to be sampled!... and it has been i think. but yeah this song has miles all over it - cannonball did play an epic solo though
@themistamartin Its not about meeting the raised bar, or following an act. He plays what he hears. Just like Cannonball Plays what he hears. A lot of notes doesn't equal a great solo, although this is one of the best cannonball solos he ever recorded.

And hell it may not be about following an act, but if you've ever had to take a solo after someone else who's amazing, you know that it often affects you one way or another.

@Manu404 Yes, it was released in CD format. Not sure if it it means that it was re-mastered though. I have had the privilege of picking one up when I was in the states a few months back.
great, im playing the autumn cannon ball which is autumn leaves in cannon ball adderleys style, its great but unfortunantly there are no redordings of the actual song so this is the closest i could find, but still no complaints
