Well, I understand things made up for the SSB Games though I concede Giant Punch came from Primate Punch. Flagging this got me blocked in the first place.
@CrappyCaptureDevice How's Zelda's moves coming along. She doesn't have much to cover. Every user is the same being frustrated on you no posting. You promised you wouldn't use the block user thing on your 3rd Announcement. How will I talk to you if I'm blocked. Besides, DK uses Giant Punch on Tikis and his father uses headbutt in the Gameboy Donkey Kong. I like your vids by the way. You don't even know what my channel looks like.
-The "Tikis" are enemys from Donkey Kong Country Returns, released TWO YEARS AFTER BRAWL (and we should even consider that the Giant Punch is from the 1999 Super Smash Bros.)
-The Game Boy Donkey Kong featured Donkey Kong's grandfather (Cranky Kong), and DK in SSB is not based on that original Kong.
-Only YOU are frustrated for the video delays.
By the way CCD, don't feel estressed by this guy. You are doing very well all of your videos, with a lot of research.
@RBMNintendoGamer The Giant Punch preferably came from Donkey kong Country 2 where he knocks KKR out. And I think his down taunt comes from his animation when selected in Mario Kart Wii released same year as Brawl.
@RBMNintendoGamer OK, I also see that this video was posted 18 months before that game came out. And Cranky is Donkey Kong's father. I now understand stuff made up, like most of the taunts. Shame to not see what they look like.
There are a bunch of other moves DK uses in other Donkey Kong games that aren't in Brawl. For example: In Donkey Kong 64, DK has a weapon called the Coconut Launcher, which launches coconuts at DK's enemies. THAT's not in Brawl.
Wow! I actually learned quite a lot on this one. I didn't realize how much I didn't know about this character. Almost everything I saw in the Kirby video I knew about, but in this video, there are some other major things I hadn't realized. I already knew his bongos were from like DK Jungle Beat, or so I thought, cuz it's from Donkey Konga. Was that what it was called? I forgot.
Thumbs up if you think rare is better with nintendo
p.s. please leave this comment alive copy and paste it on every video having to do with rare so if they ever come across it they will hopefully realize the time they were epic
@TheTriforceOfAwesome It's a shame they decided to put a reference to three of the least known DK games (DK64, DKConga, and.. the other bongo game LOL!) instead of using an actual fighting move from DK Country or something from the original DK game
Hmm..... That second attack in DK64 does resemble the ftilt, and may have been the inspiration.
His ftilt in SSB64 was different(a basic weak punch) and was changed to the fly swat motion in Melee, so it may have been the influence behind the change.
The barrel entrance may be too a reference to warp barrels. The Kongs used them to skip the entire level. In Brawl, DK and Diddy may use them to magically warp from DK Island (just a example) to the batlle arena.
I could be wrong, but doesn't DK's Giant Punch move bear any resemblance to the punch he did on Kaptain K. Rool at the end of the first "final" boss fight? It has me wondering...
You can also use the bongos from donkey konga on donkey kong jungle beat. Also Donkey kong jungle beat is my 2nd favorite game my 3rd favorite is super smash bros brawl and my most favorite game is Wario ware Smooth Moves
I was just playing DK94 on the Game Boy and I noticed: After you clear Stage 2-8, there will be a cutscene where DK tries to ram into Mario, but ends up with a face full of wall. It looks a lot more like his Side Special than I just described, honest!
I thought I was the only one who noticed all those details in the Super Smash Bros. series of games. Good work educating those who never paid attention to the history. It's what makes Smash Bros. such a topline game. All the heritage. Nothing in those games are randomly added. It all has a history.
In Donkey Kongs final smash the waves only emit outwards whereas like you said in jungle beat they also draw things towards them. Granted those things drawn in were bananas but his final smash doesn't draw in anything.
If your timing is good, he'll clap automatically on every 4th "beat"(press A when you see a small yellow ring come out of the Banjos). For whatever reason the first Banjo hit doesn't count.. Probably because it's the hardest to land.
I would like to point out that I love Banjo and Kazooie, I even played through it recently. But, there's just something wrong with Donkey Kong 64. It should be awesome. It feels like Banjo and Kazooie, it looks like Banjo and Kazooie, even play like Banjo and Kazooie, but for some reason I just can't get into it enough for a second playthrough, and God knows I've tried. Which is kind of annoying, because of glitch I am unable to get the full 101%. Looks like it's gonna stay that way.
It says in the beginning that "However, Donkey Kong bursts from the barrel on his own, as opposed to the barrel being thrown and broken by the character." What about when the barrel is floating in the air and all the player has to do is touch without having to break it by throwing it?
actually both of the shock waves used in DK's final smash are from Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, the circular ones are from the gamecube version and the damaging ones are from the wii version
(im betting my money on the latter but..) i think i saw DK use something similar to his back air in Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, but i also this its a SSB/SSBM original
There was no need to explain the Donkey Kong chest beating from the original arcade version. The Donkey Kong from the arcade is now Cranky Kong and this Donkey Kong is his grandson.
In the Melee video, I said that was from Donkey Kong 64. BUT, he had that move in Super Smash Bros., which predates Donkey Kong 64. Meaning, that move is a Smash Bros. original, not derived from any original game in the Donkey Kong series.
So, that's why I took it out, because it would have been misinformation.
Lifting up an opponent and carry them around is Donkey Kong's forward throw, performed by pressing forward on the control stick after having grabbed the enemy.
After you grab the opponent, just start to move in the direction you're facing. Donkey Kong will pick the character up, then try to move left or right and you'll move with them. Just play around with it and you'll figure it out.
Press the shield button and then press A. It really depends on the controller you're using. After you grab someone press A to damage him or press Up, Down, Left, or Right to throw them (every direction is a different throw)
I noticed while watching this you forgot to mention DK's double jump. His second jump in Brawl looks identical to the somersault he does when bouncing off enemy's
always thot his giant punch (B) came from the Finale when he OWNED Kaptain K. Rool, so SWEET!
I knew before Brawl even came out, tht his FS wud be Bongos, because they KILLED EVERYTHING in DK64 (and you really made the video take a LOOONG look at Candy Kong XD)

Hey, Do You Have The Homebrew Channel, Just Wondering Since The Pause Camera At 12:16 There Was No Restriction Guessing it Was A Cheat With Gecko OS..
I see you're getting the easier ones out of the way early, as far as ease of recording. Mario and DK's moves are accessible at any point, not unlockable or at least not too hard to find. I assume Sonic will be easy, too. Maybe the easiest! lol You know, now that I think of it...other than his final smash, won't Kirby's moves be the same as Melee?
Excellent video, as the many others of Melee and Brawl.
Let me add one thing worth a mention since you are so thorough: when you play with the DK Bongos you put them so you can see the DK symbol and the Start button. In Brawl, DK uses his bongos the other way so we can see the marks.
I think he's doing them by going horizontally on the character select screen. from left to right. So next would be Link then Samus. I say this because he did Mario first then DK. Makes sense.
I'm not really sure why you're quoting what I said as if I was directing it at you, considering the fact that it was directed at the guy who said you had no life....
This was very interesting, and there was some things I didn't know. Hell, I never even noticed the button and DK logo on the bongos in his Final Smash.
On Donkey Konga, you got a YEAR of pennies!!!!

The beaver get's pimped slapped!
lol, good to see you're making these vids! I might try to make some of my own.

If you do plan on doing your own, maybe take the same approach to a different series, since CCD pretty much has Smash Brothers covered.
It would be interesting to see something different.

I've already made a video of showing Luffy's moves from a One Piece video game.
You can check it on my account if you want.
I was thinking of just doing Brawl stages or Final Smashes. Things that haven't been done yet.

What's the name of the songs played on the Lylat Cruise?

Excellent video, as the many others of Melee and Brawl.
Let me add one thing worth a mention since you are so thorough: when you play with the DK Bongos you put them so you can see the DK symbol and the Start button. In Brawl, DK uses his bongos the other way so we can see the marks.

Nice work! Can you do Samus next?
DullBones 2 years ago
I think he's doing them by going horizontally on the character select screen. from left to right. So next would be Link then Samus. I say this because he did Mario first then DK. Makes sense.

That's what he sead he was gonna do in 1 of his FAQ video's but it brigs to tight the question...
is he gonna make 2 video's for samus or is he gonna rool it all into 1 vid.

I'm not really sure why you're quoting what I said as if I was directing it at you, considering the fact that it was directed at the guy who said you had no life....

This was very interesting, and there was some things I didn't know. Hell, I never even noticed the button and DK logo on the bongos in his Final Smash.
