Most money doesn't actually exist. Banks create it and without banks doing that economies would shrink to almost nothing.
That money in your bank account, almost all of it doesn't actually exist. Banks create the expectation that you can get money and so economies run and so they allow GNPs to be as high as they are.

That's the problem, their money has no real value, and they keep creating more and more. That is THE cause of inflation. The dollar has lost 95% of it's value since the FED started in 1913. And we only pay income tax to pay the interest on the Federal Reserve Notes they "loan" us. It's a big scam.
The GNP would be just fine if we used Treasurey Greenbacks, like before 1913, and with no income tax or inflation.

Mainstream media count on people thinking "FED" refers to the government. And that's why they called it the Federal Reserve Bank instead of the Central Bank, so people would think it is a government organization instead of a private corporation, which it is.

Banks lend out the same dollar to about 9 different people at the same time. This works because it's statistically unlikely that all 9 people will turn up at the bank and ask for their money in cash. So instead each of the 9 people buy things with cheques, or credit cards, or with their ATM card, etc and so the economy grows and grows.
Fractional reserve, look it up.
