Wow! I saw Dianne Pilkington as Glinda twice in London and she, in my opinion, brings the most individuality and quirkiness to the role! I especially loved her "I know about popular" at 2:04! Thanks for uploading this! It's great to see a professionally recorded, high quality version of her singing this song. :)

Saw Wicked on Wednesday with Louise Dearman playing Glinda and saw it a few years ago with Dianne Pilkington playing the character. They're both BRILLIANT but I have to say I think Louise Dearman is just the perfect singer for this role, but Dianne Pilkington acts it the best. If you could combine both of them you'd probably have the perfect Glinda.

I must say, Kristen chenoweth will always be the best Glinda in my eyes but, seeing as i live in the UK, I don't like it as much with british accents, american suits the character more, but its still an amazing show!

Dianne Pilkington is the best! She was amazing and so funny went I went to see her. :) My favourite Glinda ever. She has a great sense of comic timing and is completely hyper and hilarious. Even so, she still does the more serious/sad scenes so well. Really sad to see her go...

Strongly agree with you, her humour for that character is very predictable. Dianne is far more subtle, and she really does a good job by giving Glinda far more depth.

Kristin & Idina are just completely overrated. They're great singers nevertheless, but something lacks. As for this cast, it's the best i've ever seen. The producers have seriously made a good decision by casting them, they'e absolutely flawless! Not to mention Dianne's perfect comic timing, and Lexi's impeccable singing voice & passion for the character. Cast change is going to be a sad day :( Anyone agree with this? Or am i completely insane by saying they're better than the OBC?

A bit insane, yes ;) Being a fan of british comedy and Shakespearean trained/influenced actors, I usually prefer ANYTHING by English performers rather than their American counterparts, but I have to confess that I felt this performance was less than impressive. Kristin and Idina made the characters what they are today, beloved by millions, and there really is no replacement for that level of briliance.

Yes, i suppose it's all a matter of opinion. I give them a lot of credit for creating these marvellous characters, and Idina happens to be one of my favourite broadway performers. She was breathtakingly spectacular in Rent. As for Kristin, she's such a sweetheart- but i feel she's a singer before an actress. Ah, well...i'm probably rambing, i just fell in love with the whole current London cast i guess :)

Yes, Idina was amazing in RENT. And she was so young, too... WICKED is a recent find of mine, but I've fallen fast and hard for this musical. Everytime I've seen RENT, it has made me cry for the tragedy of it all. But when I see WICKED, I find myself crying these extremely heartfelt and happy tears. Also, I'm partial to Kristin because I live very close to her home town and know several people who know her personally. They all say the same thing: She was the tiny girl with the big voice. lol

I see. Yes, i seem to always cry like a baby in WICKED because i have some sort of emotional attachment to it! I think you can relate to the characters a lot,. I happen to live in London, Victoria...so seeing the London cast coming through the stage doors is not a rariety for me! And Dianne is a performer i have followed ever since her Les Mis days, and i saw Alexia in The Lion King. I suppose having met them makes me slightly biased, no? lol

Kerry's voice was fantastic, but her acting let her down to be honest. In my opinion, Lexi has the whole package. But there isn't any use in deciding who's 'better'- they were cast for a reason and have their own perception of undertaking the role.

It is not easy to sing full belt at that time in the morning which is why you hardly ever see live performances on TV shows like this. Though it does sound like she has a slight cold, you can tell she is holding back, prob to protect her voice.
