I have this phone, it has been superceded by other more powerful phones on the market, but this one is beautiful. I have this on Pay as you Go. I have a Blackberry Curve too, but I LOVE my LG Shine. It is a fantastic little piece of kit, looks expensive, the stainless steel finish and mirror front are superb. As far as I know, this phone has been discontinued in the UK now, obviously because of other, 'better' models'. But I feel the LG Shine holds its own.

Bit pim can help cuz you have to semi hack it and get ur folders into the sound i dont have shine but i have the chocolate same proses look on google

I have the 3G one now... :))) Haven't used it much as I take my trusty E61i pretty much everywhere. If you don't have a girlfriend, get the LG Shine, if you do and she doesn't get wierd about it the E61i is wicked.... Not really an answer but its still true.

I just got one, I'm annoyed that you can't change text to your own mp3 and I wanted to have my own mp3 playing when the phone starts up...but what the hey, everything else is great..love it!

Yeah, I just bluetooth them from my laptop but you could mms them or connect a cable or even use a memory card.. Cant remember which memory card they use but you can always put the mp3 on it from your laptop then put the memory card in the mobile.

So the answer is YES you can use MP3s for ringtones. PS I always use MP3s and never buy 'special' ringtones...

Never tried to have an MP3 on the startup as I never turn my mobile off... Do you really turn your mobile off that often? If you mean as a ring tone, the answer is yes you can use an MP3. :))

I don't actual know how to turn it off...what I mean is that 'bing' sound when you slide open the phone...I want to change that.

Hmmm... I will take a look at it over the next couple of days and hopefully have something useful to say then. One caveat though is that I don't have the 2G version any longer so I will be testing out the 3G version so be suspecious of the quality of my response... :))
