I'd work on your timing, my friend. And perhaps lose all the effects; a little bit 80's. And before I'm 'flamed', I have listened to everything that Steve Vai has recorded! I've just kind of gone off that effect-laden sound...which might explain my moniker!

However, to each their own - my set-up mimicked Vai's almost identically (save for the Eventide Harmonizer!) a couple of years ago, so I can see where you're coming from!
