Terrorism is funny. These people manage to pull off the most intricately detailed plan in history, yet nothing else happens. No public transportation suicide bombings, no sporting event bombings, no shootings for that matter. Get the picture?
What kind of human beings torture others? Mentally ill? Psychotic? Maybe you live next door to a torturer! I would be concerned if I did have a person like that as a neighbor, wouldn't you?
Cliff May gave a fantastic and informative interview with Jon Stewart on the Daly Show. The show aired April 28th 2009. Stewart is very liberal and Anti-Torture, yet he was able to conduct an interview where he express' his differences of opinion in a most civil and rational manner while still managing to inject humor into the dialogue. I recomend the unedited, nearly 45 minute, interview to anyone with a desire for more information about this. Peace
Let me ask you republicans a question on torture. When Timothy Mcveigh was arrested, was he tortured to get him to confess? When murderers and child molesters are arrested in America, are they tortured to get them to confess? The answer to both questions is no. So, if you don't torture US citizens then why should you torture foreigners?
the u.s. sentenced to death members of the khmer rouge in cambodia for waterboarding.... so hmm... but when america does the same crime its no longer a crime.
To Torture or not to torture...that is the question. No matter how one looks at it, torture is inhumane. The problem with torture is that IT WORKS! American spies, Russian spies, French spies, UK spies, Japanese spies, Chinese spies ALL spies. They ALL practice torture and have been subjected to torture. It is cruel, it is horrible and it stinks but it is the way of the world and no one will ever be able to put an end to it. The cold hard truth is a big pill to swallow. .Get well soon.
BattleAngel...Where in my comment did I say torture was moral? Where in my comment can you find me condoning torture? the answer is NOWHERE.
My comment is based on simple FACTS,. the indisputable universal facts about human nature. Personally, I find torture disturbing but my opinion will not remove the ingrained evolutionary psychology from all mankind. You are an ass hol3 and a hypocrite for even suggesting my family be tortured. Do you even realize the hypocracy in your comment. Stunatz
BattleAngel... The problem with your idealistic opinion is that you live in an ignorant fantasy world. Oblivious to the reality of life because you choose to be ignorant out of fear . I do not expect my comments to be popular, but I can live with them because they are based on FACTS. People hate to hear the truth, particularly when there is no easy clear cut answer that fits into One's own personal idea of ethics. You claim to be moral yet you suggest violence as a counter to my opinion. hmmm
what are five years old? where in my comment can you find me "claiming to be moral"? NOWHERE. I didn't even use that word... The problem with you is that you can't stand to see people live out your own pathetic logic. That was exactly what I was doing when I posted all of my comments. I simply am embodying your "indisputable universal facts about human nature" . I see no idealism whatsoever in my comments. In fact I agree with everything you say.

"everybody" practices torture so we should do nothing about it. YOUR so-called "facts" is the basis for my opinion that your whole entire family should be tortured with waterboarding and the rest of should just sit back and accept it "because its the way of the world." That is your philosophy and I'm just demonstrating it for you... personally.
BattleAngel .. You are a rather strange bird. You agree with me yet you think my family should be subject to violence. While I was trying to make a point based on the practical reality of the subject, you counter with an immature and inflamitory remark. Whats your damage? My original post was neutral & based on actual science while your's was pointless rhetoric seeking a reactionary response. I suppose you have no point to make other than you want attention. Agree or disagree but MAKE A POINT.
once again i will ask how old are you? seriously. because any logical person can understand the point i was making. from your previous posts and the one you just made it appears that you don't even read my responses or you at least only read into what you want thus this will be my last response, you can only talk to people like you for so long b4 it just becomes a waste of time....
Great video. Like almost every other accusation of violations of international law, the former Bush admin. are more worried about the release itself rather than the violations of human rights that it demonstrates.
There is actually a very good reason why this was necessary. The whole world knows that the US tortures, but that fact is seldom discussed in the US. Now we can show the world that we WILL IN FACT take responsibility for such heinous crimes. We no longer pretend and say no.
Actually, they pretend that they did not torture. If you've seen any of the vids of Bush and his stooges they keep repeating the words, "We don't torture."
But, this isn't anything new for the US. We've been sending economic hit men into 3rd world countries for over 50 years and when that doesn't work, the CIA.
The main difference between then and now is the fact that we know about it as it occurs, not 5 or 10 years later.
You're absolutely right. The world knows the truth. That's why Bush et. al. do so few interviews with foreign journalists. Only Americans are blind enough to believe the Bush admin. Since we have repeaters, not reporters, they'll be safe from all tough questioning.
They don't really concern themselves with the rest of the world, because Americans are always told that they envy us, and THAT'S why they say those things, not because they happen to be true.

Well, the right (especially faux news )does everything to dismiss responsibility for these heinous crimes against humanity.
