That was a lot of blood but as much as I hate to admit it Vince Mcmahon pretty much bled that bad in his Buried Alive match with the Undertaker however many years ago. I'd like to see Vince vs Taker again to compare. It would be a close call.
@SSJ4SIX It's just an unofficial way for how much blood a wrestler lost. Muta lost an enormous amount of blood, some say more than anybody else in history; thus, it's a scale consisting of 1.0 = Muta's bloodloss and 0.0 = barely any blood loss.
I'm not familiar with NJPW or how its rules may differ from WWE/TNA, but the ref counted to 13 while Muta was out of the ring. Do NJPW wrestlers get a higher count before being counted out, or what?
I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but Eddie Gordo bled a lot more when wrestled against LBJ. I think that should be the match people talk about when there's blood, not Great Mutant vs Hiroshima.
The Great Mutant is a pussy and he stole his gimmick from Tajiri anyway!
@B4CHA Also, it is plainly fucking obvious to anyone who has seen both matches that Eddie bled way more profusely than Muta. It's not even up for discussion nor is it your 'opinion'. You're just plain wrong.
Eddie bled way more and it's pretty fucking evident. It's an indisputable fact. That's that. Mark.
2. What fucking difference does this being 12 years before Eddie vs JBL make? Fucking zero, that's what.
3. No one gives a fucking shit how many bloody matches you've seen, you fucking mark.
4. Neither WWE nor ANY legitimate promotion in the world uses genuine steel chairs. That includes in this match, whether you like it or not. This is a fact. You'd need to be an awful fucking retard to think otherwise. Cunt.
One of my favorites. Todays wrestlers should study this match and learn. Not only is Muta the best of all time, but the greatest japanese wrestler of psychology. Gets better every time I see it.
LOL... after reading a couple pages (and some dating a year+ ago) I can't believe you people keep saying the JBL VS EG was more bloody than this. THIS WAS 12 YEARS BEFORE THE JD2004. Also, I've seen all of 'em bloody matches (Slaughter vs Patterson, Rockers vs Rose & Sommers, all Hell in a Cell) but none of them come CLOSE to this match. And they use real chairs in this one, not the cheap aluminium chairs they use now in WWE (they say steel but we know it's alu right?)
I thought it might be 20. I was thinking about the video games & how they count to 20, but i never saw the ref get to 15 so that's why i figured it was 15
@Kudzaiofficial I wouldn't say it's like comparing Elvis to Beiber, more like comparing The Rolling stones to AC/DC.
And I never said it wasn't legendary, I just think the Eddie Guerrero one was more brutal, considering how it literally flowed out with the camera zoomed in directly on his face
What about Wrestlemania 13 Bret Hart VS Steve Austin? Taipei Taped Fist Match Ian Rotten VS Axle Rotten was the one you listed as 6. Also can you really not list Ric Flair as the biggest blader in history? He was so bloddy in most matches he looked like a ginger. And what about Dusty Rhoades? The original Shiek? Classy Freddie Blassie, the West coast vampire as was one of Freddies nicknames? Let us remember the good old days also. Lots of blood in wrestling.
What about the wrestlemania 8 or 9 RoddyPiper VS Bret Hart for IC title? Or how about the In Your House British Bulldog VS Bret Hart? Both matches should be on the Muta scale if you ask me
instead of watchin' the same shitty WWE matches every week they should just show classic NJPW & ECW matches...hell throw some WCW in there too, I'd rather be eaten alive by a pack of wolves than be subjected to crappy "entertainment"
@SinistaMinista666 I even go a step forward (or backwards in time that is ha ha!) Bring back Florida Wrestling, Mid South Wrestling, WWC, hell, even FMW and NWA.
@WeNeedSomeGolfShoes It took me a week to respond because I have better things to do but let's see you responded in less than...5 minutes! That's b/c you're a total loser whose mental acumen couldn't possibly compare to mine, b/c all you can do is go on this site and bully people which apparently is the zenith of your day.Go ahead, say something to attempt to make yourself seem smart, you knuckle-dragging troglodyte. I'll let you get the last word because you're not worth my time.
@WeNeedSomeGolfShoes lol, I don't know what "troll out" is because I don't spend more than half my day on the internet. I would think now that homosexuals can openly serve that you would be sucking your drill sgt's dick in front of all your battle buddies. So hop off of my dick and on to his, thanks but no thanks.
@WeNeedSomeGolfShoes You need some pussy bro. You're too damn angry. I wouldn't be surprised if you were blading yourself every morning after you masturbate. What a loser.
While I agree that Eddie probably lost more blood in the 2004 match there is one major difference.
Both bladings happened with about the same time left of the matchs but where as Eddie only really took a handful of moves, delt out 3-4 of his own with a little brawl in there too, Muta actually fully performed in an athletic fashion for the 12 or so minutes he was bleeding.
I'm not saying that to try and make anyone else think this is more "impressive" just putting my feelings on it out there.
WWE SUCKS. They will NEVER allow a japanese guy to get a push as micheals, HHH and even crappy john cena has. Even though WCW lost the war, at least in the 80's and early 90's it was still giving foreign talent from japan and mexico a chance to compete. Its downfall was that they used bad gimmicks and people eventually got tired of seeing the NWO gimicks over and over.
props to Keiji especially for wrestling a great match after bleeding out like that. looks like a damn horror movie, it's probably good that wrestlers don't usually blade this deep. I wish they'd still have blood once in a while in wwe though, it doens't have to be a ton but a little would be cool
@WeNeedSomeGolfShoes You have no grasp on the history of wrestling if you think this is where excessive blood began. Mad Dog Vachon was blading this way in the 50's, not to mention the epic nightly blading of Ivan Koloff in the 60's, Dusty Rhodes in the 70's, and Ric Flair in the 80's. Eddie Guerrero v JBL is the bloodiest I've ever seen, post attitude era or not, Eddie hit a vein the shit was spurting out. Learn your wretling history.
I dont know if i would call this a 'great' wrestling match, the focus is the blood. a few of the spots are just sick. eddie juiced worse than this against jbl, but this just looks like a botched blade job, then hase kept biting muta's forehead. yuck.
love the spot at 21:48 where muta missed the moonsault and his head hits the mat and goes SPLAT. yuck.
@WeNeedSomeGolfShoes to be honest, i dont really care about your opinion, and you are starting to bore me just like this match did, you aren't going to change my opinion, so after this message I am not going to waste my time responding to anymore of your pointless opinions. thank you for the discussion. goodbye.
@WeNeedSomeGolfShoes no you don't understand, i dont care about the amount of blood in a match, there was more excitement involved in the Cena v. JBL I-Quit match, and that's why i watch pro-wrestling, for excitement. this match was too boring, slow and bland to excite me.
@WeNeedSomeGolfShoes This match is shit, i got very bored watching it, but Cena vs JBL was filled with excitement right from Cena's entrance. And Cena still bled way more than this guy
I can't help but notice that Hayabusa's style is slightly similar to Muta's. They both perform their movies with surgical precision and combine strong style with junior heavyweight style. just puttin it out there
@sepultallifly how can you even call McMahon vs Undertaker a match? The Muta scale is for actual matches, any time Vince McMahon 'wrestles' it's an extended squash match or interference job gone wrong in his opponents favour, resulting in most probably a squash match. Eddie vs JBL gets a 1.0, but that's just because Eddie done a Muta and bladed too deep. The reason it's called the Muta scale and not "the McMahon scale" is because it left an impression that others set out to emulate.
badass!, Muta is a legend, another gory blade job was when ever Terry Funk and Dory Funk fought The Sheik and Abdullah the Butcher, this IS entertainment not the crappy stuff we see on monday nights!!!!
Top 10 muta scale bladejobs (excluding this one) 1-Eddie Guerrero vs JBL (Judgment Day 2004) 2-The Mass Transit incident 3-Chris Jericho in a match at SMW in the 90's, don't remember who was in the match. 4-Bill Alfonso vs Beulah (ECW 97) 5-Steve Corino vs Jerry Lynn 6-Taipei Death Match (ECW 94) 7-Undertaker vs Brock Lesnar (No Mercy 2002) 8-Vince McMahon vs Undertaker (Survivor Series 2003) 9-Shawn Michaels vs Triple H vs Benoit (WM 20) 10-Ayako Hamada & AKINO vs. LCO
I agree with the Guerrero/JBL match being at #1. I remember watching it at a packed restaurant, and when Eddie turned around and faced the camera, everybody in the place jumped. He was bleedin' worse than a low budget slasher flick victim.
yep, i remember that, plus the undertaker vs jbl match were undertaker cho9keslammed jbl into his limo...cant rememebr the ppv ..jbl bled insanely there.
I remember watching Wrestlemania 13 live on TV and seeing the Bret Hart/Stone Cold Steve Austin match. I was like "OH MY GODZ THIS IS HARD KORE", then after I quit watching wrestling and heard about this match, I thought, "Dude. That match was fucking weak." in comparison to this one.
Not if you're a wrestling fan. This new kiddie version of the WWE has a lot of us salivating for the good ol days. It's affecting me, I woke up, showered, shaved and bladed. That's not healthy.
@miamiderek1 the wwe is not bad because there is no blood. its bad because its bad. and japanese wrestling is better of course, also without blood. i think not every wrestling league has to be an unhealthy ecw for making good wrestling.
Checkeronetwo, I was making a joke, but you're right. At first I missed the psychology blood brought to a match, that animalistic urgency the audience feels in unison when the see a crimson mask. The elevated sense of importance of a good grudge match made more violent. And that is true-but all the juice in the world couldn't help the WWE. It's bad because it's bad. I watched the TNA PPV last sun, it was dynamic. You could feel the intensity, and blood only made one half hearted appearance on SS
im sorry... my english is not good enough for ur prosaic-sed up words. maybe i read little bit cynism in it. thats okay. ur 40 years old. ur disillusioned. u know that the world is bad, that the bad people want to see blood. thats why u want to argument those things. i also have read "SS" in ur comment. i dont want to know why its in there. wrestling has to change if it wants to survive - less neck breakers, maybe less blood, too, but the blood isnt that unhealthy. get well
finally i dont have anything against the blade job in this match! i just wanted to argue that blade jobs is something rarely and specific. sorry for my english
maybe its just a verbal misunderstanding :D :D miamiderek1... psychologoy, yeah, important. SS, well, sure u mentioned the summerslam :-S iffz. deutsch liegt mir echt mehr.
So did Hase use the weapon to blade Muta hardway, or did Muta gig when he was down? You know a guy overdid it when his name is used as a new insider term: "So, was there a lot of color in the match?" "Some, maybe a 3 on the Muta scale."
No, he isn't. I just looked up the title history. The man wasn't the first champ and on top of that he isn't even on the list of champs, which means he never even held the belt.
Yeah, how far does that history go back? Because Hogan won the title on June 2, 1983 when he KO'd Inoki and became the first champion. There are plenty of sources which confirm it.
People claiming this had way more blood than JBL/Guerrero needs to simmer down. It was close.
Thought it was odd how quickly he lost his facepaint but that blood covered it pretty quickly. haha

@BETD911 glad to see that Undertaker/Lesnar match on there. That remains possibly my favorite Undertaker match of all time. So brutal.

@BETD911
also, Harris vs Storm- Sacrifice 2007.
spieloneil 10 months ago 2
@spieloneil
agreed. that match was like a 2.0 on the muta scale
deathonaburrito2 9 months ago
@BETD911
I agree with the Guerrero/JBL match being at #1. I remember watching it at a packed restaurant, and when Eddie turned around and faced the camera, everybody in the place jumped. He was bleedin' worse than a low budget slasher flick victim.
DanBruett82 10 months ago
@BETD911 what about joey mercury when he got caught with the corner of the ladder. that was brutal
BIGmoneyD739 7 months ago
@BIGmoneyD739 But that wasn't a bladejob, really. It was the result of an accident.
BETD911 7 months ago
@BIGmoneyD739 i wouldnt put that on the list because it was accidental.

I love at 2149 when muta misses the moonsault and he just goes SPLAT like a cartoon. and yeah eddy probably juiced more at judgement day.
iconoclasm12345 1 year ago
i have definitely seen triple h and shawn bleed more
but its still the muta scale lol
they should totally have a game scale

As far as amount of blood goes, Eddie Guerrero bled MUCH more in his match with JBL... I believe it was at Judgment Day.

@UsernameRogen1978
NeilFraudstrong 1 year ago
@NeilFraudstrong I hear that

I'm pretty sure Shawn Michaels reached past 1 on the Muta Scale with his WM20 bladejob. My god was that brutal.

Is it wrong to have my mouth water when I see the blood?
AmericanNohbuddy 2 years ago
Not if you're a wrestling fan. This new kiddie version of the WWE has a lot of us salivating for the good ol days. It's affecting me, I woke up, showered, shaved and bladed. That's not healthy.
miamiderek1 2 years ago 25
Holy fuck, I spit out my drink when I read this...hilarious.
rawisramsey 2 years ago 2
@miamiderek1 the wwe is not bad because there is no blood. its bad because its bad. and japanese wrestling is better of course, also without blood. i think not every wrestling league has to be an unhealthy ecw for making good wrestling.
checkeronetwo 2 years ago
Checkeronetwo, I was making a joke, but you're right. At first I missed the psychology blood brought to a match, that animalistic urgency the audience feels in unison when the see a crimson mask. The elevated sense of importance of a good grudge match made more violent. And that is true-but all the juice in the world couldn't help the WWE. It's bad because it's bad. I watched the TNA PPV last sun, it was dynamic. You could feel the intensity, and blood only made one half hearted appearance on SS
miamiderek1 2 years ago
im sorry... my english is not good enough for ur prosaic-sed up words. maybe i read little bit cynism in it. thats okay. ur 40 years old. ur disillusioned. u know that the world is bad, that the bad people want to see blood. thats why u want to argument those things. i also have read "SS" in ur comment. i dont want to know why its in there. wrestling has to change if it wants to survive - less neck breakers, maybe less blood, too, but the blood isnt that unhealthy. get well
checkeronetwo 2 years ago
the bllodshed in this Match wasnt Intended to be bad at all Muta Botched when he cut Himself he bladed alittle too deep Just Clearing that up for you
TheRagev3 2 years ago
finally i dont have anything against the blade job in this match! i just wanted to argue that blade jobs is something rarely and specific. sorry for my english

Considering the way JR commentates in the WWE, he'd probably wet himself commentating this one. But I still love the guy.
oneUNITED7SS 2 years ago
So did Hase use the weapon to blade Muta hardway, or did Muta gig when he was down? You know a guy overdid it when his name is used as a new insider term: "So, was there a lot of color in the match?" "Some, maybe a 3 on the Muta scale."
miamiderek1 2 years ago
Muta Scale only goes to 1
noneckjo3 2 years ago
Sorry about the ignorance. Can you define it for me? I'm not getting why it only goes to 1.
miamiderek1 2 years ago
Not sure why. The scale goes by points up to 1.
noneckjo3 2 years ago
I gotcha. .1, .2
Thanx for the info
miamiderek1 2 years ago
It starts at 0 and goes all the way to 1
Just like starting at 1 and going all the way to ten

"Hogan IS recognized as the FIRST IWGP champion as a result of beating Inoki in that tourney. "
HE IS recognized as the champ...PERIOD! He says as much himself when he comes back to Japan in 93.
PhenomAJ 2 years ago
No, he isn't. I just looked up the title history. The man wasn't the first champ and on top of that he isn't even on the list of champs, which means he never even held the belt.
Kidmarvel09 2 years ago
Yeah, how far does that history go back? Because Hogan won the title on June 2, 1983 when he KO'd Inoki and became the first champion. There are plenty of sources which confirm it.
captainredneck1983 2 years ago
