Jeff, how well does this work with a GR-20 and MIDI pickup? I used to have a Variax, but it never felt right to me. I've had a Fender Strat for years and love the feel, and want to convert it to a MIDI guitar. That way I can use RealLP and the Acoustic software.

Any word on how well it tracks?

When you play mono bend it sounds like a normal guitar without the distortion. How did you get it to sound the way it does? The video quality is not great so I can't see all of the settings, and I don't think my settings are different. What am I doing wrong?

@synchronizerman Their is a function in the "real" products called "key switches" one of the options is "mono bend" simple! It has nothing to do with the distortion. Hope this helps.

im buying a keytar i want one that can sound like a real guitar but also do the techno sound whitch one should i get im thanking about the yamaha shz 10 but idk if it can sound like a real guitar is it some special thang u do or is it the keytar

when you did the monobend the guitar sounded allot more electric, on mine it stays like an acoustic type sound.... why?...

@3eneboy Ah... Because i go from a clean Strat, to a dirty one. If you look at the screen, you will see i go from Patch# 5 in Mainstage to Patch#6. Sorry, i should have explained that better.

lol, Idk why, but my RealStrat really doesn't sound like that, it sounds more like a guitar that no note are held, I have the same setting as this guy but when I play with RealStrat, my note wont hold more then 1sec

Well, i dont think you have the same setting as me thenIt sounds like you have a "mute" engaged.

I don't have a keytar or a midi keyboard, but can I ask how can I use the WAH FX if I don't have a modwheel, I use automation clips on FL studio to edit the pitchbend. how about WAH FX?

What virtual amp can I use with realstrat and cubase so that I can hear whilest I'm playing realstrat through my midi keyboard? I have amplitube but I seem to have to play first without the amp sound, then record it to an audio track then I can process hear that through the amp but only once recorded - I really need to know what virtual amp you can use to get sounds like keytar jeff here but in cubase. Yea, i been where you are now. You MUST get a hosting application. My choice is Apple's MainStage. Buy Guitar Rig for your amp sims!

@KeytarJeff Thanks a lot man, yeah I'm a newbie using cubase I figured you need to find the audio file output for realstrat (which was hidden) and insert the amp. rather than creating an unrelated blank audio file and just inserting the amp there. Your tutorials are awesome!

Oh man. I'm planning on getting an AX-Synth in the near future, and will definitely get this. The problem is though everything up till now i've done with stock sounds, in the keyboard, so this whole midi business confuses the hell out of me.

MIDI is really not that confusing. Today, with a synth( or controller) a laptop and soft synths the creative oyster is at your fingertips. Best of Luck& HAVE FUN!!

Thanks VERY much. You can get the sound if you use Guitar Rig. There are other things as well, such as eq&compression.

Its no different than what a guitar player goes through to get "That Sound". I will have a new music video uploaded mid February for a tune that is part of an album i will be scribing this year. I do not have any full versions of "Copy" songs uploaded.

The Ax Synth economically is the most affordable choice in Keytars today.

The plus, is this is the first time a "Keytar" has had a real synth engine onboard.

Because you are in a "Duo" it could only increase the uniqueness of your act.

If you are asking me if the internal "Guitar" sounds are as good as "RealGuitar or RealStrat" the answer is IMHO, no. You also must remember that RealGuitar&Strat are also played in a VERY unique way. RealStrat used live is GREAT.

I have now done close to 3000 shows and still have not crashed.

Another cool feature about Ax Synth is you CAN go wireless with the internal synth and of course you can do the same for MIDI, so you will have complete freedom to integrate with your audience. Laptops on stage are very much a reality and in my case lets me travel MUCH lighter than i used to. Mine has replaced a module, effects pedals and cables.
