  • thank you for giving this receipe mam

  • @TheRaceena

    Hi

    You most welcome...enjoy!

  • I love ur masala box and ur ginger, garlic and chilli container.........its a gr8 idea to blend them in batches and put them in containers in the fridge for when u want them.

  • @mc12188

    Hi

Yes, it does make cooking fun and easy with this kind of management. Enjoy!

  • Awesome recipe ... Thank you. Its a boon for people like me who are living alone away from home. :)

  • @MrZwangs

    Hi

    Enjoy!

  • Hello Mam.I love to eat Dal fry and Jeera rice...The way you hv explained each and every part of the recipe is just great. And the beat part I like is the HINDI conversation of all the ingredients in red colour. Now I will not disturb my mother to ask her like what Cumin Seeds are. Thanks a lot.

  • @sushantjainin

    Hi

Wow! Very glad to hear all these....keep enjoying!

  • Thanks a lot mam for this recipe...

  • @sushantjainin

    Hi

    You most welcome...keep enjoying!

  • I have cooked many recipes from your website and i am becoming more confident,my wife now keeps asking me who Bhavna is? LOL...

  • @TheDreamer131

    Hi

    Great...keep impressing her!

  • Hi Bhavna just made Tarka Dal simple but great taste once again you made cooking easy thank you...

  • @TheDreamer131

    HI

That's my dream is making cooking fun and easy...keep enjoying!

  • Looks delicious, thanks! If I can get all the ingredients I'm gonna try it.

  • @loui0008

    Hi

Even if you don't have all ingredients, you can make this recipe. Daals have it's own flavor so I usually don't add much flavors to it. So you can prepare even simple dal with just salt pepper or with limited ingredients...

  • im guessing Bangladeshi or Assamese. Right?

  • @77youdoc

    Indian

  • what country r from?

  • Very sexy tone

  • dont try changing ur acent :P

  • @vollerable

I never try to change my accent....

  • sorry

  • @gsingh322

    For what?

  • coriander is the only powder we have to put ? i mean no garam masala , no turmeric?

  • @rajatpangtey

    Hi

    It's up to you...enjoy!

  • Simple easy delicious health??

    Simple = NO

    EASY= NO

    Delicious= YES

    Healthy? = NO!!!!!

  • @ajoshi06

Looks like you are very novice in the kitchen. This is really simeple and easy and healthy as well....not sure what made you to think it is not healty....but not a problem...I respect everyone's opinion....

  • @SuperVeggieDelight Yes maaam!!! Isnt this video for ones who dont know how to make dal fry yet??? For those who dont know it... its not easy!!

  • @ajoshi06

    HI

I try my best to make it simple and easy...so let me know if my showing style need more improvement. I alwasy love to hear....

  • @SuperVeggieDelight I think you did great job!!! The item itself is hard to make... but i think you have simplified it as much as it could be... I was just commenting as this because it does take lots of experience to proportionate spices by serving size, specially for starters like me.. who cooked it 5 times to get 5 different tastes each time. As for health.. its just that we are living in calorie-phobic ages!!!

  • @ajoshi06

    HI

I suggest to read written recipe as well on website. You will get lot more info that probably I can't share all in video. If you cal concious, you can make this curry without any oil or ghee even....

  • @ajoshi06 Healthy YES You'd be surprised how much energy you will have after eating a bowl of dal Why do you think its unhealthy ?..... thank you Bhavna I was just eating dal in front of my computer when I wondered how you make dal , its probably nicer than mine, even so mine was nice. I used mung ,carrot, onion, plenty of fresh coriander, onion, chilli, jeera, coriander seed, turmeric root, olive oil, i didnt have any garlic or ginger but the turmeric was so fragrant, Thanks Bhavana

  • @ahamatmabrahman

sounds so yummy...you know what, no matter how dals are cooked, they always come out right and tasty. I noticed one thing with all kinds of daals that they have their own unique flavor as well...so you don't really need to spice it up much. Enjoy!

  • sorry this is kinda off topic..can somebody tell me the title of the song in the beginning?

anyway..this is one good recipe..i've been looking for this recipe..thanks for sharing :)

  • @MADQueen89

It is used from pinnacle background music. Not sure what song but it says night groove...

  • Here's the order I'm recommending:

    1. Add Tuvar dal + Onions + Tomatoes + Green chillies + Salt + Turmeric Powder

    2. Pressure cook till dal is done

    3. In a seperate pan, do the tadka (Red chillies + Rai + Cummin seeds + Curry leaves)

    4. Add the tadka to the Dal and stir to mix

    5. Garnish with coriander and serve

  • Hi, thanks for sharing this video.

Just one comment though, if you do the tadka (red chillies, mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves etc.) before boiling the tuvar dal, it really mutes the taste, fragrance and aroma. Have you tried reversing the order of boiling the tuvar dal and vegetables and then finishing off with the tadka? It just tastes phenomenal...

  • @snadar1

    Hi

Yes, I do that as I mentioned in video the other way of making dahl, I did tell that tadka can be poured on top. But thanx for sharing.

  • My favorite thing is any dal you like & any vegetables you want & salt & garam masala

  • ! Yum all up :o)

  • Best daal video on YT - 5 stars

  • @intezam

    Hi

    Thanx for rating...keep enjoying!

  • Hi, I am trying out dal fry for the first time..... this video is really cool... thanks....

  • @TheSureshaa

    HI

Would sure love to hear how it turns out for you...

  • @SuperVeggieDelight

I have a doubt, can i soak the toor dal in hot water compromising the time of soaking. Thanks..

  • @TheSureshaa

    HI

    Yes, you can.

  • @SuperVeggieDelight It turned out really awesome... Anyway i would like to try it with Ghee as well , as you suggested.... Thank you again....Keep rocking and cooking

    ...

  • Thank you for the helpful video.

I specially like the All-In-One pot method of preparing the dish.

It means less pots to clean, and makes home-cooking a breeze.

  • @sslee153

    Hi

    That's right...enjoy!

  • Just ignore the haters.

Most of us who come here, come here to learn from others.

is a hater watch his channel he only has violent videos and maybe he is a gay too...go on ...ur voice is very sweet....

  • @AyushmannKHurana

    Hi

Thanx for letting me know about violent users. we don't want them to be on this channel...again, thanx for your support..

  • @tauqeerrizvi

    Hi

    Thanx and keep enjoying!

  • one of my favourite :) Thx

  • @ChibiRanzie

    HI

    you most welcome..enjoy!

  • I'm not the only one commenting on ur accent, there r few others who have already commented on ur accent on ur other videos, ur recipes r good, just being a proud Indian, it feels weird to hear Indian pronouncing the simple Indian words with some weird accent

  • @MsPreetijoshi

People who commented already got answer from other viewers as well and by this time many people know why I have this accent so instead of stucking on accent, just relax, cheers and enjoy! When I was in India, I had same speech for all the words you told...

  • @SuperVeggieDelight if more than one person is commenting on something doesn't mean they are following each other, it was just to tell you that i am not the only one noticing the accent, and if you say that is the way you pronounce the words even when you were in India, fine, at least I know now. Sorry for thinking that you were faking.

  • @MsPreetijoshi

    Hello!

You are right, you are not the only one but other commenters like you got big slap on their face by Bhavna's fan. Me and many people like me love Bhavna's cooking a lot and the way she has maintained this channel for people like us, there is no place for people like you so just get lost and leave us alone. We already know Bhavna by this time very well....

  • @MsPreetijoshi

if you just follwing what other are saying, then you should jump into well as well if they tell you to do so....

  • Or maybe she has a speech problem, she can't speak normal

  • @MsPreetijoshi

Just for your sake, whatever you say....but I am totally me! Relax and enjoy!

  • Why can't she pronounce the Indian words in India way, tadka, it's not tharka, daal, instead of dhaal, no matter how much she tries she wont sound american, just be a simple desi, after all, ur cooking Indian food

  • @MsPreetijoshi

i am pround to be Indian and I love India, so never try to change myself. It is really your negative thoughts that makes you think about me like that....if you change your way of looking this world and you will find everything normal...that's all I can say else I might have problme of speech...cheers and relax!

  • is there much difference to doing dal fry compared to tarka dal method?

i think this way you get more flavour as it cooks for longer time... am i right?

  • @AbstractMan23

    HI

    Yes, but it's really everyone's preference....enjoy!

  • thank you so much for this recipe..

  • @vazhayilvikas

    HI

    You most welcome....enjoy!

  • Thank you very much, this lonely vegetarian in US really appreciates you.

  • @putamatheray

    Hi

  • @putamatheray

    Hi

    Enjoy!

  • thank you so much Bhavna for this dal recepie.. :)

  • @c0579263

    Hi

    You most welcome...enjoy!

  • nice and yummy recipe....

  • @asianlite6

    Thanx and enjoy!

  • Simply love this recipe! So easy & I'm in huge favour of ONE POT cooks ALL!!!

I also appreciate how you and 'sruthiskitchen' make everything so simple and EASY for everyone to understand without heavy Indian accents & without the regular store names for various ingredients. Some others are just way too difficult to understand unless one was born in India or a direct descendant of an Indian family~thus familiar with all the terminology and lingo.

THANK YOU! My 24yr old son is LOVING this too!

  • @annie46664

    HI

Wow! great to hear all these...keep enjoying!

  • I agree with you about using just one pot..its faster more efficient and tastes just as good...

  • @vino5461

    Hi

    Exactly...enjoy!

  • i thought you don;t need to soak dal if cooking in pressure cooker?

  • @AbstractMan23

    Hi

It is not necessary to soak but I always soak to get good result...enjoy!

  • its nice....can you upload video of making palak ki bhaji,,,,,,,,

  • @vipin590

    Hi

I aleady have couple of recipe of palak bhaji...will sure try to do more...enjoy!

  • Y dont you speak in normal accent...........whats wrong with your tounge mate......

  • @auslife143

Sorry to say but it is normal....

  • @auslife143 hahha hilarious

  • @auslife143 ~ That's just plain & simply NASTY!

Did it make you feel better LONG TERM? I doubt it ~ and if it did, you're devoid of one of the most FUNDAMENTAL divine and crucial aspects to evolution ~ a conscience!

Going forward ~ think twice, maybe thrice before you choose to entertain others cheaply at any other's expense, and you'll find yourself growing ~ yes! 'evolving', into a decent, likable Earthling. :)

I wish you love & LIGHT on your journey to ENLIGHTENMENT. :)

  • Hi bhavna, thanks for sharing the recipe , i have one thing to ask, whenever i have dhal fry at dhaba or restaurant i get some burnt (smoky) flavor from it, do u know what makes dhal fry smoky flavoured?

  • @sanmakssunny7

    Hi

When tadka is cooked for long, it brings smoky flavor and aroma...specially those whole dry red chillis are fried till it realease some smoke...hope this helps..enjoy!

  • The way you handle some of the less polite commenters is admirable. I appreciate that you took the time to share a very delicious recipe.

  • @greenranger8100

    Hi

I try to understand everyone's opinion. Everyone of us has some bad and great days...I can't expect good things to be happened all the time. It's different story that i alwasy make my, (and people around me, )day great. I believe that everyday is beautiful and a new experience....I do not spoil my day just because of few small matters, so I always try my best to be polite so someday, people around me will also learn how to be polite....enjoy!

  • its good and easy to cook

  • @ravimanoj88

    Hi

    Enjoy!

  • Doll !!!...Tarka !!! LoL!! DO NOT dispose the water in which the dal is soaked because it looses it's contents, so cook in the same water, wash them properly before soaking them. Cook the dal first in a cooker and then in another pan put some butter/ghee and then do the Tadka...Tarka here !! add turmeric and hing then garam masala, cumin seeds, garlic, salt (as per taste) chilly, chilly powder (as per taste) and finally coriander leaves (fine chopped) and add to the dal, Amazing taste, try out!

  • @balajiiyengar4

    Hi

    Hi

Now the printable recipe is on website. Enjoy!

  • @SuperVeggieDelight:

Thank you, but I find it a bit too complicated to follow, and it is too long.

    So is your video.

Too many if's, but's and maybe's when all that's necessary are the main details.

    Sorry about that.

  • @throbule

    Hi

I am really sorry to say but written recipe is very simple and straight forward. It just that I have posted another way of making recipe which is known as tadka dal. But other than that I don't see any but, if or you know in the written recipe. Video might contain details that you don't want propbably but you are the only one to say that you find it hard just b/c extra details are shared. If you want easy way out, here is what you can do...get all the ingredients in pressure

  • @throbule

cooker and boil everything togather but I don't guarantee for great result. If you follow proper instructions then you will get which is what I try to share. Hope this helps...enjoy!

  • @throbule

    Hi

And also I again updated the web page, took out another way of making it and now just simple recipe is there. Hope this makes recipe clear.

  • Bhavna tumhara jawab nahin!
