  • zero dislikes; how it should be

  • Seems only right I make it 108 likes

  • I think this is possibly the best scene in the history of television. The emotion, the symbolism, the suspense and mystery, and of course the music. It's really perfection.

  • @onrubywings LOST does own the best scene in television history but it isn't this scene. The last scene last from the Walkabout episode revealing John Locke's disability was an absolute masterpiece. This scene may be the best season finale.

  • @Lakekepler The smoke monster was there from the very beginning. Unfortunately, LOST is the two combined - not the two apart. And almost all of season one's character stories were triggered by supernatural phenomena.

I do understand what your point is. I don't agree, based on my own tastes, but I do understand.

  • @Lakekepler But you were alright with the fantasy aspects of the first season?

I love LOST but I consider its debut season to be somewhat overrated. It's good, for sure, however the episodes everyone remembers appear between quite poor episodes, making the majority of the first season quite uneven. It's not until the last third that the quality is maintained.

  • @Damon242 I COMPLETELY disagree. I think the first season is completely solid across the board. It's almost unfair because there wasn't really anything to go wrong, it was just all the presentation of mysteries, and no answers to be dissatisfied with. I would argue that the worst episode in season one, regardless of what you think it is, is better than an average episode from any of the later seasons.

  • @onrubywings "I would argue that the worst episode in season one, regardless of what you think it is, is better than an average episode from any of the later seasons."

Good luck in arguing that 'Hearts and Minds' is better than 'Through the Looking Glass', or 'The Constant'.

Everything else you said is redundant, as it's opinion. And what would be the point in arguing against that?

  • @Damon242 Are you implying that Through the Looking Glass and The Constant are average episodes? Because I would argue that they are in the top five of the series, and certainly the best of their respective seasons.

  • @onrubywings Then exactly what is an average episode? Because you consider 'The Constant' to not be an average episode, I guess that rules out it meaning independent episodes. Vice-versa with 'Through the Looking Glass'.

So exactly what do you mean by 'an average episode'?

  • @onrubywings while weere talking about opinions of best moments. I would venture to say that the opening of "a tale of two cities" is by far the best scene of the entire show. It was a true game changer...in a good way.

  • It's an Exodus. At the same time it's the birth of a Genesis

  • Man, I love Hurley, he's so Awesome...

  • that scene is so epic, it gives me the shivers everytime i see it :O

  • You'll find me in the next life if not in this one. ♥

  • poor Sayid getting the stare down.

  • I want to go on a plane someday and just give someone a thumbs up.

  • whats the lil black kids name? did he die. if so how?

  • @Mikalh27 WALLLLLLLLLT

  • @Mikalh27 Walt. No, he's no he didn't die, he has some kind of powers they never realy extended on after the first 2 seasons and he's in the 12 minute DVD epilouge with two more people we know, which implies the reason for them and his purpose.

  • Why did they ever bastardise Locke's character?! He's much more interesting as himself.

  • @joecaponejoe2 The point was that everything he believed about himself was a lie. He was always a pawn. First it was because he believed his father loved him. Then it was because his legs were healed. And then it was because he thought he was meant to lead the Others. But he never was, and his desire for a greater purpose ultimately led to him being killed in a crappy motel room by Ben.

  • kills me each time.

  • Boone =,(

  • best show ever! too bad the season 4, 5 and 6 werent so good because that mysterious feeling on the island kinda disappeared=/

  • I wonder what other ideas did darlton had for whats inside the hatch...

  • @emaimon1 A whole hell of a lot of twinkies

  • For anyone watching this who's never seen Lost ---- there are an abundance of scenes at this high caliber. Go watch the show and be rewarded. Between the writing, acting, music, scenery, etc... you can't go wrong.

  • Wait a minute! I If my recognization is correct. Sawyer had much shorter hair in the beginning of the first season! :O

  • @TheSundengo I was thinking that too LOL. Yeah its apparent that they filmed this much later

  • i love it =) nice music and scene :-) i very love it..its beauty

  • love the music <3

  • I need get off here and quit watching LOST videos man! It's a beautiful day what am I doing? LOL!

  • I love hurley's thumbs up to walt.

  • Television at it's best.

  • omg, this so awesome, I can't describe... I wish I could delete everything I knew about Lost so I can rewatch it with the same emotions I did the first time I saw it.

  • @xRoXaSorax me too, for sure! i'm considering doing a third full rewatch soon.

  • @tambam89 third? wow xD As a matter of fact I'm having my first full rewatch right now. I'm watching the season 5 finale

  • Aw, Walt and his Gameboy Advance SP . . . nostalgia for 2004. XD

  • omg i love hurley's face when he looks at walt. it just makes him smile and i feel all warm inside.

  • hurley looks young lol

  • Firstly, props for uploading in this in nice quality. Second, this scene is just so damn good. Season 1 was one of the greatest seasons of Lost and I think the show is the best on television. It's a damn shame it's ending, but once it does I'll have major withdrawal symptoms.

Though, I do look forward to watching all the seasons again on DVD. 6 years of pure brilliance.

  • This was amazing. All these little glaces and interactions mean so much now that we know these characters.

  • anyone else get teary eyed watching this??? =)

  • @kvkenny217 I sure do. :'(

  • I still remember seeing this scene for the first time when it aired on television and thinking, "This show is something special and unlike anything I've ever seen." Can't believe it's all going to be over in two months.

  • This song gives me chills, like when they use it at the end of an episode in a poignant montage.

  • i think they shouldn't of showed dis at the end of season 1..they should of showed it at the very last episode..and cut to black..you will look at that scene and say..my god..what they are about 2 do..

  • @TheLGPCast

This scene represents the start of the journey (being the end of season one it actually is)

For the last scene, they're going to do something like this that represents the ending of the journey.

That would be much more fitting and much better long term, and it would have an actual Ending.

  • The ending to 6x01 immediately made me think of this scene...what a great companion piece.

  • Wow at 3:01 little did Jack know that 2 months from then we'd have a gun to that guys head

  • The music is superb!

  • omg a Gameboy™ Advance SP lol

  • They should end the series with this exact same montage.

  • it really was a perfect ending to a perfect season

  • I love this season finale! The opening of the hatch is what set things in motion! I get goosebumps everytime I see the scene where Locke and Jack look down the hole

  • this would be my 2nd fav season finale.. #1 is season 3 ending.. that was a true mind fuck

  • My favorite Scene - Niceee!

  • holy shit, that's where Walt's Spanish-language comic comes from... remember, Hurley speaks Spanish

  • Comment removed

  • wow, this scene is amazing!!!

  • as good as the current episodes are this has to be the best and most tantalizing endings ever.

  • Seasson 3 ending for me, holy shit was that amazing

  • i love this

jack and locke is the best

  • best bit is around 2:57 when Jack and Locke smile at each other :)

  • @Shonebizzle and the bit where hurley comes on :)

  • I like the music in the background(this show always has good music lolz)

  • So epic

I wish I could see this for the first time again <=[

  • @EpicEko I always say that people who've never watched this show are so lucky because they can get to watch it for the first time. It was truly special.
