Di`Anno has always been raw.. and with everything he has been through his voice is still in good shape.. this is live..no gadgets or effects and he still hits the notes,still has melody..infact he sounds better live than a lot of rock vocalists today IMO
I think that while Paul might be a good vocalist in his own right, Steve and Bruce definitely worked well together as the "Steve writes most of the songs, Bruce sings" thing worked quite well. Also, Bruce definitely didn't have a negative comment on Iron Maiden's direction, can you imagine what would've happened if Paul had stayed? Maiden wouldn't have gotten as succesful as they did with Bruce.
I think the real argument here is wether or not Paul Di Anno was washed up after Maiden. My answer is no. There's a good croud there and Paul is energetic. Paul had a successful solo carreer. He did'nt fall into a drug induced hole like Syd Barrett. So in my opinion he's a success. Yes he did do drugs but what rick star did'nt. Go Paul Di Anno!

Anyway, the Blaze Bayley Band is a great band, their last 2 albums are fantastc, and they don't have half of their play list filled with Maiden songs, which Di'Anno does..Blaze Bayley has now become a fantastic singer, which Paul Di'Anno will never be...

His voice has lost that punkish sound it had to it in the 80s, its gotten much more rough and guttural over time. I personally really like the change...for the most part.

His voice has lost that punkish sound it had to it in the 80s, its gotten much more rough and guttural over time. I personally really like the change...for the most part.
