  • wow, i like the gradient blue of the sky!

  • bad job i think, skydome is not even illuminated

  • i think Toronto did alright, but i mean, they should've turned off maybe like every 2nd streetlight, (if theres a way to do that:P) then there'd be like thousands of streetlights turned off and that wouldnt disrupt traffic too much...

    Jadenn

  • to bad we live in a developed country where we can't do stuff like that :P i think i last year some of the lesser developed country's just turned everything off :P

  • I love this video because I go down this way everytime. I love Toronto. but yeah earth hour was a good effort in t.o. the only way I remembered though was that I looked at my neighbour's house and they had no lights and a candle so I was like oh. it was pretty awesome. earth hour should be monthly.

  • next time round...

get someone to hold the cam...

    its for your own good...

  • good spot checking on toronto ...

  • i'll put my camera down when people stop talking on their cell phones while driving...

if anything, this took a lot less concentration to do (im just pointing, i dont look at what im recording) than talking on the cell

  • my god!!!! what do you think will happen if you went in a car crash!! put the camera down while ur freaking driving

  • you were DRIVING and taking a VIDEO at the same time?!? that was a really stupid move...

  • ok all you losers who posted here, yes he shot 2.5 mins while driving, the whole time you see dashboard, dont shit your pants now.

I made sure my house illuminated during the hours of 8-9pm. It was amazing.

  • One things clear, Toronto needs to cut down on the expansion joints on its highways.

BTW, isn't driving around in your car during Earth Hour kind of defeating the purpose of Earth Hour?

Heres wishing yer karma level doesn't bottom out...

  • Ok buddy, please let me know what type of car you drive so I can stay away from you next time I see you on the Gardner.

Forget who didn't turn their lights out, I cant believe you shot 2 and a half minutes of video while driving!!

  • hey cmon man, i was still checking my blindspots and signaling lol

  • lol, nothings wrong with filiming and driving, but next time if u have a friend tagging along let him do the job :P

  • no deal/// your life's more important here

  • Yeah I completely agree and I don't even drive yet!!

  • Downtown wasn't much of a difference. Minus the "big PR" areas. A large majority of corporate stores/etc did not participate (hardly any following). Leaving store front signs on, display lights on, etc etc. The TTC didn't even do what it does in high power consumption times, turn every other light off in the subways/etc. It was a pathetic showing of how Toronto has went from the cleanest city in the world to absolute filth.

  • lots of the condos still have their lights on :-(

but lots of the city did go dark, dundas square was a huge difference.. NPS was pretty dark too and many of the officed in thefinancial district.

  • I can proudly say the condo I live in participated by turning off their lights, and so did the surrounding condos. We drove towards downtown to see the Toronto Skyline and it didn't look much different, but a good effort nonetheless. the CN Tower's lights were off.

  • dude...you're drinvin as well as recordin ...isnt it ?????hunnn???

  • yup, driving as i was recording... but all i was doing was holding up my camera and pointing in at things, in no point in time was i actually looking at what i was recording...

  • neat job!
