i think Toronto did alright, but i mean, they should've turned off maybe like every 2nd streetlight, (if theres a way to do that:P) then there'd be like thousands of streetlights turned off and that wouldnt disrupt traffic too much...
to bad we live in a developed country where we can't do stuff like that :P i think i last year some of the lesser developed country's just turned everything off :P
I love this video because I go down this way everytime. I love Toronto. but yeah earth hour was a good effort in t.o. the only way I remembered though was that I looked at my neighbour's house and they had no lights and a candle so I was like oh. it was pretty awesome. earth hour should be monthly.
Downtown wasn't much of a difference. Minus the "big PR" areas. A large majority of corporate stores/etc did not participate (hardly any following). Leaving store front signs on, display lights on, etc etc. The TTC didn't even do what it does in high power consumption times, turn every other light off in the subways/etc. It was a pathetic showing of how Toronto has went from the cleanest city in the world to absolute filth.
I can proudly say the condo I live in participated by turning off their lights, and so did the surrounding condos. We drove towards downtown to see the Toronto Skyline and it didn't look much different, but a good effort nonetheless. the CN Tower's lights were off.
yup, driving as i was recording... but all i was doing was holding up my camera and pointing in at things, in no point in time was i actually looking at what i was recording...
wow, i like the gradient blue of the sky!

i'll put my camera down when people stop talking on their cell phones while driving...
if anything, this took a lot less concentration to do (im just pointing, i dont look at what im recording) than talking on the cell

One things clear, Toronto needs to cut down on the expansion joints on its highways.
BTW, isn't driving around in your car during Earth Hour kind of defeating the purpose of Earth Hour?
Heres wishing yer karma level doesn't bottom out...
