  • Nice work! You are kicking the weight forwards, although it decreases as the weight increases. I get into that habit sometimes when I am only power cleaning and not full cleaning as much. I correct it by doing multiple reps of clean pulls from below the knee (with straps) and concentrate on keeping the bar close. Good luck and keep lifting!

    with good form you dont hardm your back at all.

    in this video the guy has a good idea of what to do so he wont hurt him self.

    when doing power clean you down want to slouch your back at start, this guy doesnt.

    theres many ways u can hurt yourself though doing these without proper form.

  • No problem if you do them properly. See frozen kilt here keeps a flat back during the drive phase of his lifts, and remember to drive with your legs.

  • it looks like you're not quite landing on your heels, so like madaozeki said, rip that bar backwards and land on your heels (your knees will thank you later)

  • hi again :) I left a comment on your other vid, but this illustrates the issue clearly from the side. Notice on the very 1st rep how when you explode, the bar swings forward a bit, causing you to jump forward to catch it? you don't need to be throwing your back backwards at all, as another commenter suggested. rather, stand up tall, all the way, and get the bar moving vertically only. things'll be snappier that way. nice lifting :)

  • I rarely do full cleans, although I can. I'm just a thrower not a lifter, so I feel like I get more out of the power stuff than the full movements.

    And yeah, my second pull has issues. I think I tend to cut off some of it. 130 casually is the goal. Thanks.

  • Nice. You are quite strong. Stronger than me actually.

    But I think you are lacking in the 2nd pull. Try to be more explosive and try to throw your back further back.

    If you do that there is no doubt in my mind you can power clean 130. Easily.

  • Great stuff, both deadlifts and cleans looked very powerful, you seem like a tall guy, and such people usually have some problems with significant weights, so respect. I recently incorporated power clean with Bill Star's 5x5 intermediate, it works some magic witk my back.
