  • OMFG THAT TRUMPET

  • If marcus ever comes to play in Serbia or anywhere nearby, I'm selling my kidney to go to the concert!!! xD

  • VERY GOOD

  • Mr Miller and Mr Bell are the dynamic duo"s of groove

  • Marcus Miller is the MAN....

  • Sound's, groove, tone everything is perfect! Just awesome!

  • 6:09 Guy on the sax is sooo tired lol. going hard.

  • @onkelbolle what? are you seriously insulting Victor wooten lol? fuck that. I love MM and Vw, but you do NOT insult victor like that.

  • Amazing trumpet solo! Who is this player?

  • @jjgregoryski patches patches stewart.

  • @jjgregoryski I dont know the name but mark's been playin with this guy for at least 15 years

  • Very good acoustics, & love these guy raw talent brings back so many good times, good music, people! slap bass warms the soul.....

  • now THAT is some great acoustics....what a venue. every band should record in there

  • /watch?v=CeRMEwRasxA brasilian slap bass!

  • best bass solo ever starts at 3:07 to 4:56

  • SUPER AWESOME! Impressed :)

Let me know if you want to box for box ^_^ I'm a youtube partner now and 63rd most subscribed musician in the UK, I also have a new company backing me who want to help me grow, they represent Boyce Avenue and many others :)

  • this is coooollll!!!

  • i like allot of bassists, Marcus is the only one that plays music...!

  • @TheAJSCOOT what about Jaco?

  • I love the Major guitar tune, very fresh :)

  • It's amazing how Marcus comunicates to other insturments through his playing, just listen,no other bassplayer communicates to the band like Miller

  • Marcus Is the music

  • Marcus Miller is the perfect breed between funk and velociraptor. He's a Funkyraptor.

  • @pupilero

i don't know what that means. if it means he the best then i'm with you. LOL!!

  • Fukin G

  • mantabbbb,... tah........ loba dahar naon nyak, bisa jiga kitu?????

  • Hey Marcus man all i got to say is you the man.you have always inspired me and made me a better bass player then i would have ever been.Thank you,in my book you are the best.

  • Just enjoy art for what it is and do not make a competition out of it.............

  • WHY ALWAYS the comparison to victor wooten. Victor is a phenom in his own right, no doubt, but its two different styles of playing. Which is what makes them both unique bassist. You dont have to down one to lift up the other. Just for the RECORD, marcus has recorded with some of the most renowned musical giants in the industry!!!

  • 3:59 yaaaay that was cool

  • Marcus play incredible!!

    And the band is amazing...ilovehim

  • The solo is from Burning Down The House ;)

  • tiiiiuuuuiiiii at 0:04 - the crowd goes APESHIT (and my nipples get hard)

  • Can somebody tell me how Marcus keeps his fingers so tight and moves fast enough to get those tight plucks. THey are so fast and its like their back to back to back to back to back....

  • @prettyboytroy555 Only God can tell you that

  • THe solo in this live version is just tooo funky.. Damn it would take a lifetime to do that.

  • One of my favorite bass players! Right there with Jaco, Larry Graham, Stanley Clarke, and Nathan East!!

  • Poogie Bell holdin it down !!!! What a masterpiece.

Poogie and Marcus - GOOD friends to your earholes (!)

Thank you very much for the up.

  • i was lucky enough to be at this guy's concert, ive never listened to jazz before but guys...marcus is the top level

  • Is there anyway to find this on CD?

  • marcus is the bass...

  • Marcus is simply in a class by himself. Masterful!

  • esto es realmente genial. me puso la piel de gallina. INCREIBLE!

  • Grrr! this is sick!!

  • I think its awesome that when Marcus plays those first four notes the audience goes nuts!!

  • INCREIBLE saludos de BOLIVIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheVilliersBand

    Heh ... witty MOFO :-)

  • Ok, it might be just me, but the beginning of this song sounds sort of like the Gap Band's "Yearning For Your Love." That would be a very interesting take on that song.

  • Run for cover .........

  • superbe!!!

  • tan bien perros pero falto la guitarra un solito

  • AWE...SOME!!!! The epitome of cool!!

  • I loved the first 6:35 of this, the rest sucked.

  • haha one dislike

  • like this!

    very good...

  • Everyone is right about Marcus oozing groove, but let's not forget that killer band! Poogie bell is one bad ass drummer!

  • Funk oozes out of Marcus's body

  • no hay porque compararlos los dos son grandes musicos y hacen musica exquisita!

  • I disagree with everyone who says Wooten only plays fast, not music. He took what Jaco did and took it up to a new level, listen to Reminiscence by Wooten, if that isn't music, then you don't know what music is.

  • bottom line is Marcus grooves like no other "period" which is what being a bass player is all about not the speedy technical skills and solos, its about how the bass player grooves in the background of the music with the rest of the instruments which is why so many bass players including well known professionals "try" and mimic is signature tone and style, Marcus may not be as fast or technical as victor wooten but Marcus is master of the groove is more a well rounded muscian and composer

  • Marcus is like wow...the only person that compares to him is Jaco. I don't know which is better!

  • so powerful...marcus is like a big truck...and victor wooten is a speed boat...hehehe...i love yah man....

  • Marcus ... I love the bass ... really! But please ... talk me through those pants!

  • The groove is so deep, locked down, and rolling with MM'S huge bass sound. Marcus Miller is the hero of deep, dense, powerful funk and jazz...and yes: the definition of cool

  • The amazing Dean Brown from Long Island on guitar.

  • This guy born with music inside his soul no doubt, and now is sharing that with us. Increible. My respect also for the rest of the band theyre really amazing

  • Fantastic !!!

  • What knob gave it a thumbs down? lmao

  • marcus miller is the best at being marcus miller and he has no equal.

hope that clears up the debate

  • i have a marcus miller signature fender jazz now i just need to learn how to play like that.

  • best groove ever...

  • แจ๋ม คร๊าบบบบ%+

  • Marcus with Miles is the deal too.... check it! Love this so much. Thank you for posting this!!

  • Music is such a subjective thing, people are always going to have differing opinions on what, or who, is "best". But in the end it's personal preference, and that's fine. Nothing wrong with having an opinion :-)

  • theres no best though in my opinion because everyone has their own styles.

  • he´s the best

  • I agree man. Victor Wooten sometimes he plays great stuff, other times it seems to me like he's just making noise lol and fans go crazy over it. I play too, and no i DO NOT hate the guy. When talking about bassists you can never leave him out. That's my compliment to him. On another note, this whole video is nice! I actually appreciate trumpets a lot more because of it. This man and his tone lol Marcus is great! Also perfect pocket playing when others have their solos in all of his videos!

  • You gotta love Marcus Miller's tone!!!

  • try to watch victor wooten

  • Victor plays fast, Marcus plays music :)

  • @onkelbolle

c'mon man, have you been following victor with the flecktones? He's got music in his veins apart from all the technical extravaganza. Please reconsider your view on Vic!

  • @Ramudes36

I´m totally AMAZED by Victor´s bass skills and musical intelligence, and he´s probably the best bass player ever. But don´t find myself putting on a Victor Wooten record on my stereo :) It seems to me like he cannot play a peace of music without ending up playing wicked fast... and then it seems to me like he´s forgetting what music really is all about. Music is about soul and love... not about showing off.

  • When I´m listening to music I first of all want to be touched, not impressed...

  • well... you've got a point there, and I share the same opinion with you. Marcus' bass always sounds like its talking to you, sending a feeling right to your soul and Victor -sometimes- fails to do so...

By the way, good luck with your musical life in Norway!

  • @onkelbolle Both plays music.... each in different way Victor is more jazzy Marcus is more funky a and has better groove for normal people.... my opinion

  • @rihaha Look what i wrote to Ramudes36 ;) Cheers.

  • @onkelbolle Totally agree! Even that I like Wooten very much ;)

  • @onkelbolle they both play music buddy ! you need to watch groove workshop and you can see his philosophy on music !! ;)

  • @onkelbolle i think they both play amazing music

  • @gunryobassist Good for you :)

  • @onkelbolle

Marcus plays music and beats, but Victor plays groove. Victor is not only fast dude..

  • @onkelbolle are you nuts? Victor can kill you with his slow jams

  • @Xiuxiu1121 That comment is a reply to some dude dissing this Marcus-video like 10 months ago saying that Victor is a better bass player. So the comment is taken out of its context with the 48 likes. I respect both, but I prefear MM and I DO think that alot of Victors music sometimes becomes nothing else but a freak show.

  • @onkelbolle Hey man, don't say that, Victor Wooten is a great musician as well.

  • @onkelbolle They both play music!

  • @AnthonyOnBass Yes.

  • @onkelbolle

isn't true.... listen to Ari's Eye or Sacred Place by Wooten....

  • @onkelbolle now if you had known anything about victor wooten you would know that he doesnt only play fast he also plays very slow, slower than marcus and you cant define these two bassists by who's best only by who you like the most they both play music and play it very very well but if victor only plays fast and not music i would like to see you put a video up on youtube where you play better bass than victor wooten :) gotta have action to back up dem words boy

  • @omega1231 I hope to say this for the last time: what I wrote is taken out of context. I responded to a comment from someone who said that Wooten was much better than Marcus ... and when I answered this, along fucking time ago. They both are great musician and great people. It is stupid that my comment is high rather without the text i was commenting on. Mkay?

  • @onkelbolle definately have to agree with you on that, vic had the technique hands down, but i still have yet to hear someone able to groove as strong as marcus can!

  • Sax player looks enthusiastic... :)

  • hahaha great comment onkelbolle!

  • black ppl r cool

  • Magic marcus !

  • best bass solo ever.

  • wonderful!!

  • Istenkirály!!!Nagyon ott van :)

  • awesome !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I swear man, Marcus Miller is the definition of cool.

  • @wideningeye and sex?

  • @wideningeye ya buddy he is defiantly the man !!

  • sick!!!!!!!! awesome.

  • marcus is in the house

  • I don't understand the metal bar over the strings.

  • Comment removed

  • the pickup cover? it was used more in the early stages of the fender bass, primarily as a form of shielding for the electronics. some early basses also had one over the bridge pickups as well that also contained a rubber mute to deaden the sound in an attempt to replicate that of the acoustic bass.

marcus likes to rest his palm on it when he slaps but i didnt like it so i took mine off.

  • I don't care for it either, but to each his own.

  • Martin Mendez from Opeth has one on his Fender on the lamentations dvd. They look shanzzy.

  • @Tristanikstan he has a marcus miller signature bass

  • It was standard on bases in the 60´ties and 70´ties. Specially Fender P and Jazz

  • glad that changed.

  • i love this bass... it's awesome...

  • greaat bassis...

    amazingg

  • i like his slaps and bass guitar. very nice for slapping. sounds nice and crisp. only thing, i don't like the the metal cover thing that covers the amp bar thingy. where you play the strings. it gets in the way. i tried his bass model. sound really nice

  • always perfect - thanks for posting

  • Go Miller! Go !!

  • this guy is unbelievable, i saw his signature fender on the internet and though yeah, i like that, then thought, well, if the bassist is good and uses it often then it would secure a deal, and bamn, i have a new favourite bassist!

  • yeah i just bought that bass. best sounding jazz bass i have ever played. literally can be played with any style of music.

  • Nossa o cara toca demais !!!

  • Great, Nice bass too.
