it´s great! but try with the same guitar sound of the backing guitar...i think it´s a semi-acoustic or something and with less volume and reverb...something natural...but great riffs and solos!
In Funkyman's defense. I'm a Ronny Jordan fan myself and a guitar player. The title does state that he rearranged Jordan's song. Which to me means he's putting his own spin on it. He's not trying to copy it. He's got a sweet style. It's not jazz but it's unique in itself. I encourage you to develop your own music.
Definitely one of my favourite ronny tracks. you still need to learn to follow those chords. the way you play sounds a little like something clapton would do... which is not that good.
One that loves ronny jordan can't say that man.. This is not jazz, this is a crazy guy playing on a jazz background tape in a really not cool way... The thing I love about ronny jordan is the sound, and if I'm not mistaking, the guitar doesn't sound the same...
well, i've never played guitar or any instrument, therefore i can't speak on the nuances of a playing style or genre of music. i'm all for the evolution of music. look at kirk franklin with gospel, "unwrapped" folks with instrumental versions of rap songs, and etc....
Why you guys like this guitar, I don't know !!?....

I really like your playing, and i still gave you a good rating but just felt that your playing was a bit overpowering for the song haha.

Great playing! By the way, guitarists should take the habit to join their gear setup with the clips (guitar model, amp, effects setting, etc.).

Amen. These criticisms are too narrow minded. Funkyman has talent, and these haters only see the negative. Good job Funkyman, love your vids.

moto7890, disregard my last comment. it was directed at Miguelon2. keep doing what you're doing. i have not seen anyone improvise like that.

please learn about flat 3rds and how they relate to blues. Also, turn down. Learn how to "play" volume. The effect is to hot also.

this is hot. ronny jordan is my favorite contemporary jazz musician, and this rendition is done quite well. 2 thumbs up most def!!!
