Bruce lee is the best because he's used everything in his fighting methods. And he made sure he can move and punch faster than anybody, have more energy as well. How can you beat somebody who's strong, fit, very fast and very skillful all at the same time? Not to mention metality tough too.
I saw a documentary in a dvd with Lee I bought. His wing tsun master said in that documentary that Lee would be even faster if he had a smaller bicep.

It's really hard to prove how good he was. My teachers sifu is fast too. I dont know if you ever have seen a kung fu master practise form. Actually... Lee isn't the only one who have trained that hard. And Lee trained some muscles just to look good in movies (his bicep is bigger than needed).

what people fail 2 realize is: speed is power! bruce could litterally kill someone with a punch, or kick deathblow. if u get hit by a car going 5 miles an hour, u probably won't suffer 2 much damage. but a car going 100 miles per hour will more than likely, kill u, unless u r extremely lucky? power is genererated with speed, which is one of the reasons bruce was so great, besides technique.
Bruce Lee is great, but not unique. The power of the kick is also decided by the weight of the lef, and the pushing force you deliver in it. If you train martial arts, you should know that if you kick too fast, you wont be able to force much power in the kick. If you kick slower with greater power, it will do more damage. Belive me. There is a reason to why it exists weight classes.

It's a difference between fighting and practise martial art. Lee only competed in some amateur boxing tournament. And he wouldnt go very far in a K1 tournament. Bruce lee is the best because he's used everything in his fighting methods. And he made sure he can move and punch faster than anybody, have more energy as well. How can you beat somebody who's strong, fit, very fast and very skillful all at the same time? Not to mention metality tough too.

I saw a documentary in a dvd with Lee I bought. His wing tsun master said in that documentary that Lee would be even faster if he had a smaller bicep.
I dont know why you americans overrate Lee so much. Yes he was one of the greater martial artists, and he trained much (as all masters do). But he is not a legend like Mushashi or Oyama if you talk about martial artists trough the times. I bet many masters disrespect him because of his movies (he dont deserve to be disrespected).

It's really hard to prove how good he was. My teachers sifu is fast too. I dont know if you ever have seen a kung fu master practise form. Actually... Lee isn't the only one who have trained that hard. And Lee trained some muscles just to look good in movies (his bicep is bigger than needed).
Remember that Lee is a legend in USA but just famus in europe. The whole "Lee" thing is much of an american culture. Same with Chuck.
He was great anyway. Like a master should be.

Yeah dude he was a great streetfighter, and you can say he was one in a kind. But I doubt he is the best. There are so many great martial artists. Probably alot would beat Lee in a street fight
(example: the shaolin monk. You know they train all their life instead of making movies.)

yes but not as hard as he trained.He was the only martial artist that put a serious emphasis on physical conditioning.He built strength using body builing techniques along with all of his martial art training.Jeet Kune Do(the martial art that he invented) is completely based on efficiency.not one drop of energy is wasted.Therefore his training methods were also the most efficient and propelled him to almost superhuman levels of speed,agility,strength and endurance

There are many many guys being able to lift more weights than he did. And when mentioning the legends of martial arts I would say Oyama, Mushashi or Boddiharma (or however his name is spelled).

I cant speak for others but i'll tell you why i like bruce lee. my brothers and i grew up watching martial arts movies ok and "Fist of fury", The big boss, The way of the dragon and Enter the dragon are classic movies!!. Bruce Lee is classic and always will be. I dont worship him as he was only a man. but i do respect him as an actor and legendary martial artist.

what people fail 2 realize is: speed is power! bruce could litterally kill someone with a punch, or kick deathblow. if u get hit by a car going 5 miles an hour, u probably won't suffer 2 much damage. but a car going 100 miles per hour will more than likely, kill u, unless u r extremely lucky? power is genererated with speed, which is one of the reasons bruce was so great, besides technique.

Bruce Lee is great, but not unique. The power of the kick is also decided by the weight of the lef, and the pushing force you deliver in it. If you train martial arts, you should know that if you kick too fast, you wont be able to force much power in the kick. If you kick slower with greater power, it will do more damage. Belive me. There is a reason to why it exists weight classes.

2 say that bruce lee wasn't a unique fighter is crazy! the man was literally too fast 4 the cameras on set, when he was filming his movies. he could kick just as fast as throwing a punch, and he also developed his own fighting style.
i agree with u that u have 2 have technique when u execute a kick, but the bottom line is u still have 2 generate speed 2 harm someone with a kick.

Bruce Lee is a master martial artist. He is not mainly famus becouse of his skill thou, but becouse of his movies.
Buakaw por pramuk is much heavier than Lee and kick harder, Bas ruttens leg kicks should feel alot, Mas oyamas kicks (but he preferred to punch)

The list of harder kicking guys is long. And what counts nowadays is how good you are in the ring (yeah it sucks I know). And Lee isn't an outstanding fighter (no fighting record), but would probably be kinda good in lightweight kickboxing.

It's a difference between fighting and practise martial art. Lee only competed in some amateur boxing tournament. And he wouldnt go very far in a K1 tournament. He was a great martial artist and knew some tricks that would kick ass on the street, but he was never among the toughest fighters, but he surley was fast!
