that would be the upcoming Toyota/Subaru collaboration. except the fact that it won't have a V8. it'll most likely get the same 3.5L from the IS350, or even a higher output version of the EJ25 from the Impreza WRX STI. they want it to compete with the new Genesis Coupe 380GT, which is already competition for the 2010 Mustang GT and 2010 Camaro RS 1LT/2LT.

um the NSX failed because of its pricetag. it was too expensive for the performance it had, even though the NSX had great performance for its niche.
the NSX paved the way for what those types of cars are supposed to be. before the NSX, cars from Ferrari and other highend manufacturers weren't building anything AS exciting as the NSX.
the NSX was NEVER a supercar, nor were its competitors (Ferrari F355, Lotus Esprit V8). they were mid-engined high performance sports cars.
I think it is great that you have made so many episodes. I have seen most all of them. But it does get old when you tell us once every week or two what episode number it is. Milestones are one thing but 641? Really guys? My only real complaint... otherwise keep it up.

I am an Aston Martin fan. However, I was never sold on the Lagonda anyways. Some luxury and exotic makers should NEVER make SUV's. Remember the LM002 from Lamborghini? its no point in producing a nsx for honda, very few people bought the nsx the first round, and the second round when it got the 3.2 liter engine, its not a economic car, and it wont make honda money, just hurt them more..i love the nsx, but its not worth their time and money.

I agree and disagree. Now I get your point about economic cars, but the NSX would be the only car in their whole line-up that isn't economical. For the rest theres the Fit, Civic, Accord, and their Hybrids.
Also the failure of the NSX was because it cost 90k in 1991, that's like 150-170k now. It wasn't that it was bad it failed for the same reason as the Supra, RX-7, and 3000GT.
Now days it would have a much higher chance of surviving, because 90k for a car isnt that crazy anymore

I have lived in Japan for 18 years (originally European) & I have seen the Japanese automakers get better in their designs & they have demonstrated that they are able to develop sharp new technology. The flip side of this, is that they are increasingly becoming aloof & complacent. Toyota in particular, is focused on becoming the no.1 top selling company rather than focusing on listening to the customer. But, not listening to the market dooms failure. The US automakers are a case in point.
I am not a Honda fan. Still I think that despite a devotion to front engine front wheel drive econo boxes that are good for the environment, every car manufacturer should have at least one rip snortin' RWD car in the stable. It is a crying shame that Honda has taken every opportunity to axe and or deny RWD cars. First no S2000, then no V8 and now no NSX. Damn this Caragnarok! That reminds me. Dude! Toyota made the Venza, and now Honda is working on the Crosstour which is basically a raised Accord wagon.

yes, i understand the Toyota vs. Honda competition is exactly like the Ford vs. Chevy competition.
but them having a different relationship doesn't exclude them from my point. you don't need competition to survive in the market. all you need is a good product that will satisfy everybody. BUT if you make it good enough, you'll get people wanting to compete.
that goes onto my next point....
if Honda sees good things from the Lexus LF-A, then we MIGHT see an NSX replacement shortly after.

Most likely it would compete with the Vette, Viper, Skyline, 911, all those cars. Lets just not hope it's overpriced.
Then one day we might see a Skyline vs NSX vs Supra (LF-A maybe) battle just like the Camaro vs Mustang vs Challenger.

the Z06 is cheaper BECAUSE it takes away those "luxuries". why would you even want a high performance car to make you feel comfortable? i mean if you have the money to buy a 70 grand Z06, then you have the money to have a 2nd car, which would most likely be a sedan of sorts.

except for the fact that TVR and GM never went out of business. they went bankrupt, there's a difference.
TVR is still around and is still building cars in Blackpool under the same young Russian millionaire kid who bought it almost 10 years ago. GM came out of bankruptcy last week.

coolerdud44, the fact that Mercedes bought the rights to use the Viper as a test mule for the upcoming SLS Gullwing implies that even the Germans acknowledge the Viper's engineering. Or are you going to say Mercedes engineers have no brains? it maybe cheep with a plastic interior, but the Viper offers most advanced mechanical solutions, (no driver aides), to a digital world that is defined by computer controlled center differentials. Or have you forgotten the Viper ACR's 7:22 Nurburgring time?

the viper is very crude. it's appeal lies solely on it's bonkers speed and wayward handling. obviously they want the gullwing to be exciting. but you would expect a viper to be crude, not a merc. and i didn't forget. but that was down to sheer power and grip. not handling or poise. that driver had balls.

power and grip? then how the hell did the 1,001hp Veyron get a 7.40 Nurburgring time, which is 18 seconds slower than the Viper? the Veyron has HUGE power and grip that can take the world off its axis. but yet, it didn't beat the Viper.
the Viper got that time on everything, including handling and poise. just because it was getting tail happy in the video, doesn't mean shit. every other car that has gone around that track has that problem.

The ACR has earned respect for it's effective engineering that allows it to perform better than cars with launch control traction control and other high tech refinements that cost three times as much. The ZR1 proves that many advancements like traction control and advanced magnetic actuated suspensions can be had for 110,000USD. Their performance alone allows them to be called real supercars.

Yeah, and it should also be pointed out that the advanced magnetic actuated suspension was first done by Chevrolet, on the 2003 50th anniversary 'Vette, and is the same system used by Ferrari, and other supercar makers.

um the NSX failed because of its pricetag. it was too expensive for the performance it had, even though the NSX had great performance for its niche.
the NSX paved the way for what those types of cars are supposed to be. before the NSX, cars from Ferrari and other highend manufacturers weren't building anything AS exciting as the NSX.
the NSX was NEVER a supercar, nor were its competitors (Ferrari F355, Lotus Esprit V8). they were mid-engined high performance sports cars.

the Cobalt is still on the Chevy website, but guess what....

I am an Aston Martin fan. However, I was never sold on the Lagonda anyways. Some luxury and exotic makers should NEVER make SUV's. Remember the LM002 from Lamborghini? Cool deal by VT Hokie Nation coming up with such a car or such a system. That Pepsi Max Lancer looks awesome, though I know this is about the Ford Raptor by Garage 419. Probably best just to find a used NSX these days, and I love the Honda/Acura NSX. Great bloopers at the end! Congratulations on 641 episodes. Keep it up!

its no point in producing a nsx for honda, very few people bought the nsx the first round, and the second round when it got the 3.2 liter engine, its not a economic car, and it wont make honda money, just hurt them more..i love the nsx, but its not worth their time and money.
this point in our lives we need economic cars for everyday, not to cars to be kept in garages till the weekend.
i hate saying all of those things but its the hard truth.

I agree and disagree. Now I get your point about economic cars, but the NSX would be the only car in their whole line-up that isn't economical. For the rest theres the Fit, Civic, Accord, and their Hybrids.
Also the failure of the NSX was because it cost 90k in 1991, that's like 150-170k now. It wasn't that it was bad it failed for the same reason as the Supra, RX-7, and 3000GT.
Now days it would have a much higher chance of surviving, because 90k for a car isnt that crazy anymore

very true good sir, but if they price it around 50-70k or maybe brake 80 like the gtr now it would be ok, its still expensive...i don't really care id still but a 90s nsx over the new one (if they build one). cop a 3.0, or 3.2 liter for 30k now :)
i personally think they canceled the nsx project to just rebuild the project from ground up.
cause to be honest that concept was a bit ridicules and to realistic by honda standards. so i think we'll see it again in 2 years time.

I have lived in Japan for 18 years (originally European) & I have seen the Japanese automakers get better in their designs & they have demonstrated that they are able to develop sharp new technology. The flip side of this, is that they are increasingly becoming aloof & complacent. Toyota in particular, is focused on becoming the no.1 top selling company rather than focusing on listening to the customer. But, not listening to the market dooms failure. The US automakers are a case in point.

I am not a Honda fan. Still I think that despite a devotion to front engine front wheel drive econo boxes that are good for the environment, every car manufacturer should have at least one rip snortin' RWD car in the stable. It is a crying shame that Honda has taken every opportunity to axe and or deny RWD cars. First no S2000, then no V8 and now no NSX. Damn this Caragnarok! That reminds me. Dude! I wanna see Thor or Odin in the background during one of you economic down turn bits DD.

So if Aston cancels their SUV concept and Honda cancels their NSX concept, does that mean the rest of the cool concepts are going to get slagged or be green eco boxes? Call me an asshole, but I'd rather live in a polluted world, with life spans around 30, full of Vipers and Lamborghinis. the NSX is hard to replace because its perfect. i think. honda should first have a formula 1 team, then get a good driver like senna and let the f1 team develop the new NSX so its perfect like the old one

Julianleeho is right. NSX itself is already perfect. Honda could do what they did, form an F1 team and a good driver to develop it, but my opinion would be keep the design but update the rest, just like Ford GT40 and GT. It worked didn't it?
