@SmashinSlashin Decievers play great & neck isn't huge. It's medium C shaped. I prefer the look, feel & playability of a Dean Soltero myself. They have a sweet V shaped neck profile. They totally kick the shit out of Les Pauls.

@augustotanaka use a different type of mahogany. the one that's close to being extinct is honduras mahogany. guitar manufacturers these days usually use khaya mahogany or sipo. these two have been used so long that there really isn't too much of a point to say "i'd wish this was honduras". khaya is good mahogany, used by almost everyone. :)

@Ningirsutyr btw. ltd and schecters are made in the same factory :) they're both (including esp) owned by the same guy. and if i remember right, ltd has models too that lool similar to this guitar coulour, binding ect. btw, i love the thicker neck that the schecter has, it's all about preference ;)

Because one is an American and the other is a Japanese company to begin with :/ But of course LTD has similar models on their EC series. Well, as a matter of fact, almost every metal guitar company has similar Les Paul shaped guitars ;P
@Ningirsutyr Hisatake Shibuya owns both, shecter and esp. they both are seperate companies but may share the same factory. what i meant with the "looks like any schecter hellraiser" was that this dean here, the esp/ltd model and the hellraisers have a similar finish, binding, inlay and woods used on them. i wasn't actually talking about their shape. :)

The original Deceiver was unveiled at Winter Namm 09, I believe the Solo 6 wasn't unveiled until Summer Namm that year. I agree that the finish is a bit Schecter, but then the same is true of ESP Ltds, and they're probably all made in the same factory anyway.
@HeroOfTheFlames kinda strange though, if i were showing off a guitar i would put it on a setting to show off the clean. also i have know guitars that sound way better than that just when you turn down the volume on the guitar.

In the last few guitar world vids Paul had been ripping it up! I loved the hammer-ons with the pick slide down causing harmonics! Whilst I'm sure this has been done a fazillion times before, I can't recall seeing anyone do this. Pretty cool technique.
Dear Guitar World, I never liked Floyd Rose. I'd like a brand or guitar series that carries shredder guitars without the F.R. but still have a great whammy and maybe alternative lock tuners... How about those Sub/Musicman/OLP and Petrucci and the likes? What else?

Speaking of pointy, is there a limit in how far to one side the tuners can be? Like if you wanted the head to have a big angle would there be a problem?

@guitarnoize Because there is one type of PRS? Because EMG is exclusive to Dean? Because inlays can't look different? Because Floyd Rose is also exclusive to Dean?
-The SE Torero has Floyd Rose
- Look at the Bird inlays on Santana's guitar
- PRS has 5 models with EMG pickups
- The Binding looks a lot like any PRS model, and the Abalone is standard.
- The shape is a classic shape, everyone has it.
The only thing really different is the headstock.

Wanna be schecter tacky binding......great shape...but who needs another EMG/Floyd guitar........I have many....and this doesnt offer anything different.
Sorry.......deans just dont impress me.......at least the owner of dean broke away from dean and is trying something different.......or trying to.

@ciadude2 For instance ESP LTD H1000 and some other. It's no coincidence that those guitars look like the flagship of Schecter guitars (the Hellraiser Series). They are just trying to copy a very good selling metal oriented guitar.
