  • I was there at the same time as you. The fire you mention, was a man self-immolating in protest. It was big news at the time in Yangon, and caused the junta to step up security, just as a military anniversary was about to take place.

    EVERYONE PLEASE GET INVOLVED AND FIGHT FOR A FREE BURMA!

  • Thanks - yes, the act did occur around the time of my visit. But the footage of fleeing you see was shot in the evening - not during the morning, when the immolation took place.
