  • Since this post I've purchased a new Martin custom with solid sitka spruce top, rosewood back and sides and ebony fretboard. I still say Yairi are some of the finest acoustic guitars you can buy. They are hand made by master Luthiers in Japan. The Greatful dead, David crosby and a lot of other famous mucians play or have played Yairi guitars. I'd put a high end Yairi up against a Martin or Taylor any day. I love Martin gutiars but I don't judge an instrument just by the name on the headstock.

  • Amazing. It was beautiful .

  • @iammrguitar Thank you very much! Awesome compliment! This video I made has been my most popular so far. Thanks for being a fan! :::===( o )

  • That is one nice sounding guitar. I'm teetering on the brink of buying an early 80s DY74. Great playing too. Love that melody.

  • @1Doz Thank you very much! Good luck with your purchase, hope your able to get it....

  • @1Doz I have an old early 80s Alvarez that my grandpa handed down to me. It's the best guitar i've ever played.

  • @SitarGuy98 You must not of played any other guitars then. Alvarez is a piece junk. A Yairi is a different story. Yairi is a very good handmade guitar. Alvarez is not a Yairi. That is like comparing Epiphone to a Gibson.

  • @bluegrasssingingman I don't argue with people over Youtube.

  • @SitarGuy98 No one is arguing with you. just stating a fact.

  • Man that is one fine sounding guitar. I'm teetering on the brink of buying an early 80s 1974. Very nice playing too.

  • @1Doz Yairi is a very good guitar, and I don't mean a junk Alvarez. I know where there is a very nice handmade Yairi I like to have, but I'd never give up my Martins for one.

  • Hey, you are ver y talented. One of the guitars I play is also a '76 Yairi, but it is a DY55. I absolutely love Yairis, probably the best guitars made to this day. This guitar belongs to my uncle, and he wants to find out the current value. Though he will never give it up. Its Rosewood, and he only got a cheap case, instead of the nice cases. Any info would be great. Thank you.

  • Thank you for the compliment! I don't know the value of the D-55,but it would be an upgrade compared to my Dy-46.Also would depend on the condition of the guitar.Best thing to do is try to price them on E-bay and see what they sell for...There may be some vids on Youtube of a D-55 also.I am a fan of Alvarez guitars too,I also own an Alvarez MD-70(u can see it in my other videos)not a Yairi, but one of my fav guitars.I hope this helped and let me know if you have any other questions...

  • Nice guitar. I just bought a 1983 Yairi DY73 today at a garage sale for only $100. The woman said it was her grandpas and she just wanted to give it a good home. I love it so much that I just put my Martin up for sale on Craigs list.

  • @kmacnumber2 Thank you.....Wow,You don't find those kind of deals everyday,enjoy....

  • @kmacnumber2 Yairi is very nice, but you must be high, and your comment shows you don't pick Bluegrass. Yairi can't touch Martin. Yairi is a very good guitar so don't get me wrong. I never heard one or played one. That would make me give up my 1973 D-35,1992 HD-28, or my new HD-16R LSH.

  • Is this music regular tuning?

  • yes,standard

  • Great tune! I just bought an 88 blue Yairi and would love to play this song. Any tabs?

  • Thanks! No tab for it,but watch it a few times, should be able to pick it up,fairly simple...congrats on your Yairi purchase!

  • Real sweet sounds brotha, I also play a Yari I have been told mine is the perfect acoustic guitar Love the finger picking styles you use. I'm a finger picker as well... The phrase, "Jam Session" comes to mind:-)

  • Fantastic! Well done dude, and btw, love the guitar. I would take an old Yairi over a taylor any day!

  • thank you! This Yairi is a 1976 Dy-46. It has a great tone but probably will need a neck re-set in the future...

  • beautiful melody, working on lyrics....

  • I own a dy54 and a dy90. Nice guitars, but totally different. If I want to kick butt on the Martins, I strung my 54 with heavier strings and just run them out of the jans. I think it has a redwood or cedar top.

The Dy90 is a good middle range axe. It can hold up to most anything. I played it next to a dy91. Not that much difference.

We have a guitar builder here in Rochester, MN Keller guitars. He makes outstanding guitars too.

  • This guitar is good sound.

  • That was real pretty. It almost cries out for lyrics, though- do you have any in mind?*****

  • your not the first to say that, however i'm better with melodies than words...no i dont have any...thanks for the kind words tho...

  • Very nice! It reminds me a little bit of Iron & Wine.

  • beautiful progression...plenty of room for a vocal melody... the guitar...is that a DY46? nice...

  • Looks like a 46 or 45. I have the DY46 from 1981...double inlay around body, 5 around soundhole. This looks like a solid around body which was the DY-45...anyone else answer? Nice work...try bringing a more distinct bass line to the piece. Pretty, though. Agree with jordanthecat, screams for lyrics..sing anything, fix later.

  • Very well done***** Sounds great thanks. B. Wing

  • thank you bluewing04
