@1ronMat - English is a Germanic language with Latin/French influences - English comes mostly from the Anglo-Saxons not the Romans or the Normans. (and the Normans were of Viking descent, raiders who were given most of Northern France by the French king in exchange for stopping the raids).

If you want to get technical most Europeans owe their history to the Greeks, Romans, Celts and Vikings...stop being so bloody French...you're a colonist and probably haven't even been there half as much as me.
