@glyoxal They just announced the release of mod tools for Cryengine 3. Wait and see, it might actually be somewhat good. Cryengine 2 isn't as efficient as the new Crytek engine so making a decision without knowing all the facts, its a little too early in my book at least.

The 8800GT Alpha Dog edition is about 4 years old now, It was only £150 when I got it and it runs games faster than most current GPUs of the same price. Plus it has directx10 and runs crysis and every new game very well, there's no need to upgrade like people seem to say there is, as one graphics card will last for a few years. Just like the original xbox lasted for 3 years before it became obsolete.

I tried k-meleon, but it's basically firefox stripped down, still good for a low end pc.

I'd definately recommend firefox, because it supports addons that are just as cross platform as firefox itself. It's the addons that make firefox slow and heavy, but they also give you stuff like WORKING adblocking, full security, easy downloading, p2p in browser, 3D browsing, themes that can basically change the appearence of firefox in any way.

The best PC to run Crysis? Money no concern? Intel CoreI7 975 water cooled. Overclock to 4.5GHZ + 6GB triple channel DDR3 2000 and 2 X ATI 5870 in CrossFire, water cooled and overclocked. Add a couple of SSD drive in RAID strip for lightning fast loading and you are all set.

For th ill informed, the Nvidia Fermi based GT300 will not be available for at least another 6 to 8 months at best and when it come, will cost a fortune and run hot has hell... Forget Nvidia for the foreseeable future.

Crysis has no chance on console? Lol, am I the only one who has seen the gameplay footage or something? There are 3 screens, PC, PS3 and the XBOX 360, and believe me, the difference is not huge! The only thing I noticed was that some of the lighting on the PC version was alot more vibrant, other than that, nothing much else.

No, really. The lighting effects have improved much, aswell as character models, and overall the city looks very realistic. It's just some mishaps Crytek did on the PC side of things - blurry textures, short view distance - that make it look like worse.

But of course there are some scenes in Crysis that look better than most scenes in Crysis 2, but so there are scenes in Crysis 2 that look better than most scenes in Crysis.

It's just physics and destructability - nonexistent in 2.

All those things contribute to Crysis 2' better lighting. Sure the textures still suck, but the lighting matters more on the overall scheme of things. The character models I was talking about we're mostly the aliens, and the key characters' facial animations.

And since Crysis 2 it's a multiplatform...i'd call it a maximum port. Not a real pc game. Crysis was. Geez, to think a good pc is more cenvenient than a console...

@glyoxal hopefully they will make the pc and console game separately so they are both able to max out the hardware, but i kind of doubt that as game designers seem to be determined to pump out low quality games just to get quicker profits, not thinking of the gamers getting bad story-lines, bugs, bad controls and console graphics on pc's capable of many times better. Crytech did very well with Crysis 1, i hope they haven't forgotten about us pc gamers in their quest for the mainstream.
