In my American History class we were taught that this act of civil disobedience was the precursor to ever increasing acts of defiance towards the British crown culminating in the declaration of Independence. Founding fathers aside, the average American of the day DID NOT feel the need to offer an apology or restitution to whatever damages were done to British loyalists. If the Tea Party were to hold a spontaneous rally, you wouldn't be calling them squatters. Nor would you call those who showed up with guns to show support for gun rights terrorists or criminals.
