Dee, they will hold out there wings in the sun to dry them off. I'm a birdwatcher, but I love to observe behavior, so this bird is really of great interest to me. Maybe one day I'll get to see one. :)

Dee, if I look well, it looks like (family of a) cormorant. I found a couple of these in the park here. If you want to look, I have a black one in the beginning of the feature video at my channel tw1rretwarre. I must have a video of them also, have to make that one soon. One is swimming in the water, hardly to see that it is this big, when they swim also.

quite a unique birds!that makes me think the darwins theory!theres this manifestation of the two!snake has scales so as the birds still have the scales like snake on their feet!

The anhinga is a water living bird that lacks an oil gland for waterproofing its feathers such as most birds that live in water do. When it goes swimming the feathers are well doused with water.

This is not all bad as it helps the bird dive well and chase under water prey with feathers wet it can still fly, simply not as well or as fast.....Dee
