I wanna know if u can use the traktor scratch pro u r using with the allen heath mixer without the cdjs..like somebody else said mapped out..play and cue all off the mixer is this possible?
Can you use your pitch fader with this set up? I have the audio 6 and the Numark Mixdeck and I can't use the loops and fx's it comes with and I can't use my pitch fader for deck a and for deck b i can but it's not very precise
Looks like this is a new setup- but an old video- Have you changed anything yet? Have you tried mapping the controller for the other 2 decks? (2 Timecode & 2 Virtual Decks?) That's the sickest mixer!!!!
d4asb4aum, sorry, but I am going to cry Noob, here. He isnt using, nor does he have to use the multicore cables because he isnt using the 4/8 audio interface. Using those cables in this setup would actually be more work. Even if he were to use the interface, he doesnt have to use the multicore cables. True, they were made for scratch, but an RCA is an RCA. Multicore cables only make setup easier. 3 yrs is still Noob for you, heck, 10 years is still noob with a comment like that.
The biggest suprise for me is that,he is using regular chinch cabel, not NI multicore cables, wihch are recommended for traktor scratch pro...to use it...

XONE:4D is certified mixer for Traktor pro.....you don't need an additional external audio interface, because it is already integratd into the DJ mixer.
I have a question. If you use a timecode setup with audio 4 & traktor offcourse, and if you want to play a cd with 1 deck can i choose then in traktor for 1 deck audio trough? and use just 1 deck with the timecode cd?
I don't get it.. why use a Xone 4D with CDJs and Traktor Scratch Pro if you can have the same amount of possibilites using a Xone 4D only with Traktor Pro?
Or is it just for looking more professional with all that equipment?
ASIO? I'm shaking that you're actually doing ANYTHING audio related with a PC, hahaha. Mac's use CoreAudio - pretty much every major performer uses MIDI for everything now without issues... because they run MACS. That's kinda the reason why everyone uses Apple for Audio. Never a latency issue, crash (rarely), reboot, etc. Can't count how many days my machine has been running straight without issues.
Question, do you have the Traktor Interface box, you know where you plug the mono leads into before plugging into the laptop or does the XONE 4D save you needing it?
you know if you have the traktor pro software on your laptop, is there any alternative interface boxes you can use to connect to the decks rather than buying the traktor audio 8 box?
Hi taphasms Can I ask your help here? I just bought the Xone 4d and a pair of the cdj-2000. Previously I am using Audio 8 sound card routing to my Djm800 and now I need to change the setting like the video you sent. However I can't have it sucessfully. Can you explain how is cable and the routing in the input and output coz i've tried your setting but the decks which is no response to my commands at least the deck A cannot detect any signals from my cdj player ....... ! Thanks
it does. Obviously time has moved on now and we now know that the Xone 4D was always Traktor Scratch ready (I bought my Xone 4D a year ago now and have just moved from Traktor Pro to Scratch (without any modification to the Xone 4D needed). If you have this mixer you can buy the upgrade kit (or upgrade from T3 Scratch if that is what you have already) and spin with vinyl as well as Cds.
Look it is not possible. Traktor disables scratch control to non ceritifed mixers and soundcards which is everything other than the audio 2, 4, & 8. They want you to buy their interfaces! Basically at the end of the day it is just a sound card, it doesn't have any special code to decipher the time code. When these interfaces are plugged into ur laptop it will tell traktor this is a certified audio interface and enables time code.
The 2D uses the same sound card in as the 4D but the properties in the driver tell traktor it is a 2D not a 4D so scratch panels are not enabled! Some 1 on the post a while back regarding a cracked version enables all sound cards but I would not condone this.
Wrong. The 4D has a much better soundcard than the 2D which is the same as the 3D and they won't work for technical reasons. The 4D has been Traktor Scratch Certified for a while now.
Look fella you don't know what you are talking about the 2D is the same sound card as in the 4D; USB 2.0. The 3D was a USB 1.0 sound card. I have spoken to Allen & Heath and they confirmed it is the same sound card so why don't you contact them to confirm it!
You are wrong, they may be USB 2.0 but the 4D has way more channels and features. Just look at the damn specs on the website. USB 2.0 hardly means they are the same soundcard,
2D:
• 9 stereo channels 5 (4 analogue and one digital) inputs from a PC and 4 (3 analogue and one digital) returns.
4D:• Totally new 20 channel 96 kHz / 24-bit soundcard connecting via wide-bandwidth USB 2.0 (480Mbit/s)
• Uses 24 bit stereo Analogue to Digital converters and Digital to Analogue converters
djaudiofile is right. USB 2.0 only refers to the data transfer speed. It has nothing to do with the number of channels or SQ . The 4D I should hope has a superior sound card given the price of the mixer and that it is the Xone flagship model designed to handle Ableton and Traktor.
Also false, the soundcards don't "tell traktor they are scratch certified." Traktor suppports a number of devices and each update has a list of supported or certified soundcards. They were in the process of certifying this and probably had the 4D enabled in whichever update you got since they got it to work and were going to announce the certification shortly.
No Mate u can't. It was wishful thinking at the time but it can't! The software blocks any sound card that isn't certified from time code. NI should look into this because the 2D would be amazing for gigs; sound card and midi all in 1 unit less wiring and messing around!
I would be perfect in in a club/ bar environment, like you said "all in one option". I have read some info on doing it but tbh to have it solid on the road and reliable I think i'll go for the Audio 8.
Would be good if someone was to make a vid though trying it out!
Guys , i want to buy traktor scratch pro! So please , i dont have 4 turtables... Is it possible to connect 2 turntables and 2 cables into mixer so i can use all 4 decks?
oohhhh, I get it. So you're basically controlling everything 'externally' with the cdj's, and the only thing the pc is doing is supplying the music. Cool man, thanks!
The 4d is scratch certified so obviously you dont need a audio8 dj. No other mixer unless it is certified will work. If you dont have a certified mixer you need the Audio 8 or Audio 4
the Xone 4D is Traktor Certified, and some other Mixers too. You can see it on the NativeInstruments Homepage. That Mixers have build in Soundcard, so there is no need for Audio 4/8. And you get Traktor Scratch Pro for less the price.
yes I need to know this as well!? did you ever find out mate? please can you let me know, it would really save me having to buy some traktor time codes on top of the serato ones!! Thanks
yeah i use conectiv with traktor no problems at all, i switched to traktor after i heard the sound quality compared to torq, and the latency was a lot better, GO Traktor!!
I disagree, not everyone is a DJ with that shit. but i do agree with getting a good mixer at least. if anyone wants to donate a 4d id be much obliged :D
really? I'm wondering if it would also work with vinyl turntables. I have traktor scratch pro and a m-audio quattro with 4 i/os and I'm hoping to set it up with my tables without getting an audio 8
Ah mate are you sure about that? Thats excellent news this comment has confirmed what I have been trying to find out for ages! So with the cracked version a Maya 44 usb will definitely work?
Anyone know how to set up the midi side of things with 4d and Traktor?
We have the audio side of things set up fine.
I now want to use the midi functions from the mixer to control ie loops filters, effects. which is possible but cant get Traktor to recognise the mixer.
When I do the tests they all work so the computer can recognise it but trktro doesnt..
Have you done exactly as it says in the manual you get with the 4D? Because i dont think there is any other way to do it, and its very simple, its very well described in the manual.
When you get it to work, go to settings, to Midi settings. Click on add and choose what you would like to happen, maybe to set at Loop. Click the learn button and press the button on your 4D that you would lite to use to set a Loop. Unclick the learn button...
nice work man, I've just tested traktor scratch timecode cd on my audigy 2 zs notebook and it works perfectly, no audio 8 required!!! the only problem is that audigy 2 zs notebook only has one input, so I have to switch inputs from main menu to control other decks. if only there was a midi command to do that...
hey where did u get the update kit, av been searching everywhere and cant find it. i keep trying to download it on the native website but its not letting me. cheers
Hi i am looking for help as traktor pro only lets me play if i use 4d wdm audio 2.8 16 (2 in 2 out) then if i use the proper soundcard usb audio driver it works properly well kinda then it crashes when it wants 2.I am using a hp laptop so i am wondering if its hd soundcard and the laptops hot keys will interfere cheers!
I had the same problem and found that I didn't have the lastest version of pro. You need to open your NI service centre and check that you have the lastest pro version installed in the download section. Also in the audio input routing in pro deselect all the ins, they aren't needed and apparently cause traktor to crash!
Legend! Bought a Xone 4D the other week hoping for a firmware upgrade or whatever to be released at some stage for use with Traktor. Went and bought 2 time coded TS vinyls too. I'll have to invest in some TS cds now i suppose!
As far as I know you still need a Traktor Scratch Pro license in order to use timecode control. Just having the normal "Traktor Pro" license probably won't work. If you purchase the Traktor Scratch "upgrade" package (for use with certified mixers), it comes with the timecode vinyl/cd's. But personally I'd just buy the whole scratch package, so you have the audio 8 for playing on other setups.
If their is anyone hear in the UK wanting to buy a Xone 4d then I am selling mine for £800! proper bargain. contact me if your interested :)

In November 2008, Native Instruments certified that the Xone:4D is compatible with Traktor Scratch Pro.

Anyone help me coz Im Racked right off with it!!!
Anyone??????????????

littlemissjo79,
It is easy! :)
Unclick the learn button...

littlemissjo79,
There is more settings you can do here, for example what channel you should put your loop on etc.. But I think you will get that on your own..!?

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Mate, Pioneer will work with Tractor its the Midi side of things that hasnt been certified!!
All your doing there is playing a pionneer though it..... Its the midi controlers that would have the issue! which there isnt, its just not set up!!
All you do is apply all your functions to the right controlers!!

nice work man, I've just tested traktor scratch timecode cd on my audigy 2 zs notebook and it works perfectly, no audio 8 required!!! the only problem is that audigy 2 zs notebook only has one input, so I have to switch inputs from main menu to control other decks. if only there was a midi command to do that...

I'll have to invest in some TS cds now i suppose!
djcrickylyttle 3 years ago
As far as I know you still need a Traktor Scratch Pro license in order to use timecode control. Just having the normal "Traktor Pro" license probably won't work. If you purchase the Traktor Scratch "upgrade" package (for use with certified mixers), it comes with the timecode vinyl/cd's. But personally I'd just buy the whole scratch package, so you have the audio 8 for playing on other setups.

My setup works perfectly. Tested it out last night :D
