This was a pretty frustrating boss..... Three times you fight it in this game. And you have to get each head to drink twice before actually attacking it....... If you do the math on all the maneuvers it takes to beat this boss, it's just ugh..... not hard, but just UGH!..... Why Capcom? WHY?!?!

@MrPokemongold Funny you mention those, 'cause in Marvel vs Capcom 3 she uses those 3 weapons in that order in her strongest finishing move (or Hiper Combo). Check it out if you haven't already, it's epicness in its purest!

Ah... Orochi... What a quirky way to defeat him. Want my advice? Make the Lightning head first. He doesn't know you're there (he's blind). Smack him to make him roar. That gives you an opening to splash sake in his mouth.

@MariaBernkastel Ack, typos. Make the Lightning Head drunk first. Whatever one you choose next is up to you. Wind head will try to literally blow you away. Poison Head releases a Cursed fog. Water head tries to drown you and sends little snakes after you. I forgot what the Fire head does. It's been a while.

in japanese mythology, Susano-O is Amaterasu's brother and the god of storms and rain. and he killed Yamoto-no- Orochi for the same reason as Shirinui but he turned this girl into a comb and hid her in his hair until he was finish choping off Yamoto-no-Orochi's heads. lovely isn't it?

Ammy in Japanese mythology is the goddess of the sun. One of her brothers is Susano-O, the god of storms and rain, and her other brother is Tsukoyomi (or something like that), the god of the moon which is also the name of Nagi's sword in the game.

@reikayakishiro That's an interesting idea! I can't know for sure, as although I have the Kojiki, I have to rely on translation, as I sadly cannot read the original Japanese yet! But before these 3 were created, the "filth" which he washed off his body (which he acquired after being in Yomi) was transformed into 3 (I think) somewhat evil deities. I would think that the creation of Amaterasu/Tsukuyomi/Susanoo is representing a sort of remedy to this, creating a "balance" of deities if you like.

Orochi was such a cool boss.  I remember figuring out that during the second half of the battle, you could shoot beads at his heads to kill him faster than making him drunk. That was fun.

if you make Orochi drunk then use the fire trick. You can kill him in like three hits. The shortes time it took me to beat him was five to seven minutes

This is among my favorite pieces from the game... and this was also one of my favorite boss fights. Aside from how it was more climactic than any of the other battles (even more than Yami's), it was different in other ways. For example, right before the battle, it really dawns on you that you are NOT ready to fight Orochi - but you have no choice...
