shane/alvin had so much tallent what happened.Oh ye meda hipe he was as good as any vincent/elvis/cliff so on just because he styled himself on vince taylor in the end doesn't make him bad
Saw Shane in 1971 at The Cumbria Club in Millom. I was stood a couple of feet away when he came over to the bar for a drink; all in brown leather gear (just before he transmogrified into Alvis Stardust) he seemed a very nice guy...and boy could he sing! I really preferred him as Shane Fenton really, even though he got more fame as Alvis Stardust.
Shane Fenton used to come to the Gliderdrome Boston Lincs ,and we used to sit in the Wimpy Bar west street ,and have a coffee and chips and chat to him wow what a nice guy he was then and still is today ,memories are lovely ,and thats one thing the government cant tax .
I was in a little booth in co-op record store I was 10 yrs old - Plymouth, my nan n mum wanted pat boon just walk on by (single, when we arrived home I put it on our little Dansette flat out, they mistakenly gave us .. Walk Away Shane Fen-ton And The Fen-tones .. thank you so much co-op ..actually my Nan,s Dividend no is 27353 - x
I remember queueing for his autograph for half an hour up the Glen in Bristol. Never thought he would become Alvin Stardust, and such a different character. Even the voice was different, and the style.......

I bought the CD as a result of your videos and I've been playing it constantly.
You ought to ask for commission! *Smile*
