  • HIGH OCTANE NIGHTMARE FUEL!

  • Old Biff does return to the future of the evil timeline where he's rich and corrupt. Its just implied that because Marty's neighborhood was already a dump in the regular 2015, they could get away with not making any obvious changes in the Alternate 2015 so it wouldn't confuse people. If Doc & Marty had flown into downtown before going back to (evil) 1985, no doubt they would've seen changes.

I guess it took a couple minutes to erase Old Biff, but I agree they should've kept this scene.

  • That's really creepy. All the more reason this should have stayed.

  • The biggest plot hole is that there are technically 2 deloreans in 1885. One that Doc arrives in, and the one Marty arrives in. Why can't they just take the fuel from the one Doc arrived in and put it in the Marty one?

  • @BambisaurusRex My idea is that Doc already drained the fuel from the Delorean because I remember the 1955 Doc saying that he fully gassed up the Delorean (could just be my mind playing tricks, been awhile since I have seen Part III).

  • I can see why they would delete it. Biff doesn't actually die or cease to exist in the future; he was merely run into a truck of manure.

Also, where did you find this clip?

  • The actor that played Biff actually was channeling someone who bullied him when he was young. Always felt sorry for him...had to be rough

  • So, if Doc or Marty travel to a future where they're supposed to be dead for a while they will be erased from existence ...

  • this is the best scene in the whole goddamn movie, and it was cut out

  • Apparently there was interview done by the producers that stated this scene was deleted because it would be confusing to the audience but what they were implying is that in 1996 Loraine had enough of Biff so she shoots and kills him in that year. This best explains his disappearance when returning from the time machine.

  • @sonicmario2 But didn't he change the course of time in 1955 so that way he became rich making the Future Biff of the Time line where he was a push over become erased making that Biff Go poof and the Biff from Hellish 1985 become his old future self in 2015!

O_o this stuff makes my head hurt

  • It seems also if you are prepared to meet your past, or future self, or don't realize it's you, then you don't pass out. I always wondered why in part 3 they didn't simply go write a note and leave it in the delorean that was buried in the mine to bring a gas can full of gas. I guess if they did that then they would have more gas, and then they would never have wrote the note, and there would be a paradox. Unless the note reminded them to leave themself a note.

  • i remember watchin bttf2 on tv once and this scene was in the version i watched, i remember it clearly and wonderin wot the hell was goin on lol

  • that scene was in the movie...

  • Well, a-hole---maybe YOU shouldn't have shot George McFly!!!! Ever hear of What Goes Around, Comes Around?

  • This whole scene is very errie. The lack of music, and the fact it does not seem finished adds to it.

  • When biff faded out, shouldn't the whole scene change to an alternate 2015?

  • Well, giving to the young self, Biff altered his future make him victim of a paradox make him a simple nothing.

  • that scene should have been in the movie

  • 1985 not 1984

  • Biff did not get shot in the 1980's but in 1985.

None of the films were set in the 1990s, even though BTTF 2 was released in 1989, and BTTF 3 was released in 1990.

  • Biff was shot by Lorraine in 1996. Although none of the Back To The Future films were set in the 1990's, this would impact on Old Biff being erased in 2015.

  • Let me solve this once and for all. Biff vanishes due to changing his future by giving his younger self the almanac. He never becomes his cowardly auto-detailing self, and instead becomes a rich tycoon. Hence the 1984 and 2015 versions of auto-detailer Biff never exist.

  • Biff from 1985A was shot in the 90's.

This means old Biff is erased from existance, remember Marty being partially erased was slow as well (when playing the guitar) hence why it looks like he's having a heart attack etc.

When the almanac is destroyed old Biff will be brought back to life.

But yes, them not changing the rest of 2015 was probably the reason this scene was cut.

  • When you see Biff fall over onto an object, he appears to be in pain and maybe he had a Heart attack, as Doc did explain before they went back to 1985, "Be prepared for Temperal Displacement" So maybe he died of the concequenced, gee this is confusing.

  • @seanyboy2007 I'm pretty sure Temporal Displacement is another word for time travel.

  • What didnt make sense about this movie, is when Marty went to 1885 to save Doc from getting shot. The 1955 Doc helped him get the time machine running again, and the Doc in 1885, did not even seem to remember.. remember he said, Marty I gave you exquizit instructions not to come here but to go directly to 1985.. But the Doc in 1955 should have known he was going to be shot as well as the older Doc should have known...

  • It's his 1985 self who gets shot by Buford. Marty went back to 1885 after seeing his headstone in the cemetary. At the dance, he gets shot in the back by Buford and dies days later because of internal bleeding. Marty stops that from happening and becomes the target instead.

  • WTF?!?!? THAT DIDNT MAKE SENCE?

  • Yep wally815, I was thinking about that when I watched the movie and I was thinking Ok? the older doc that is stuck in 1885 didnt remember, since the younger doc in 1955 just saw his grave. So I was thinking how come the doc since he is older in 1855 just didnt remember, he looked at his grave in a picture that marty took, and he is like, im going to get shot? by Buford tannen over amount of $80, then he is like well I should have payed him off. he should have already known time has changed.

  • Another thing I didn't understand is when marty went back for him, he broke the fuel line, and they didnt have gas at that time. Ok at that time there is 2 time machines, one that doc hid, and one that marty brought, they could have gotten the gas from the one doc hid, and put it into the one that marty brought... And they where trying to put Wine, or whisky into the time machine to get it running. Im pretty sure Doc wouldn't use the time machine on a empty gas tank. :P

  • yeah. robert zemekis fucked up on this one.

    = /

the storyline of this movie is coolio though.

  • The reason they didnt use the gas from the hidden time machine in 1885, is probably because it had none.

If you store any vehicle for a number of years it is highly recommended to drain the gasoline and have an empty tank.

Doc in 1885 most probably drained the tank before burying it as he knew that there would be gas available in 1955.

  • @imhackedagain If they took the one from the cave, then the Marty from 1955 won't have a Delorean to go back to 1885. It's all a sequence of events. 1985 Doc hides the time machine --> Marty and 1955 Doc find the time machine --> Marty goes back in time to 1885. If Doc took the time machine that was in the cave, the Marty that was in 1955 can't go back in time to rescue Doc and there would be a paradox

  • @DaStayPuftFluff Besides, Doc emptied the fuel tank in the hidden Delorean assuming there would be fuel in 1955. If they used it now, there would still be no fuel although the car would be in better shape. If they replaced the hidden Delorean with the ripped fuel tank Delorean, when the Marty and Doc from 1955 find the delorean, it would be even older then it was before and would probably disintegrate if Marty set foot in it.

  • @imhackedagain He didn't know because he was displaced in time at the time (He was in 1885). Until he returned to his own time (or a time after 1955), he wouldn't remember, because it basically "wouldn't catch up to him."

  • @Alaris123 It doesn't matter since the younger doc saw his own tombstone and the image of him by the clock.. right there is changing time. For Doc seeing that the TombStone, that alone with the words of getting shot over a matter of $80 by mad dog tannen. Then his future self should know even if he went back to the past. almost everything they did would be a major paradox. besides the future since it hasn't been written yet.

  • here is my theory: biff died as a result of the consequences of time travel he gave the alminac to himself in 1955 but when biff travel back 2015 he taveled back the reality that he left where is has no power money or control

pehaps someone who has a dvd copy of bttf2 where most special feature has deleated scences with director's commentary that might help shed light on everyone's good theories

  • Actually in one the the back to the future things it was explained that the future were old Biff disappears was the alternat version, but no one seemed to noticed because they just came back to 1985 after picking jenniffer up...they didnt go anywhere else or enter the McFly house again.. so they say Biff would have been shot by Marty's mom in 1996 but they decided not to add that

  • So they had Biff jab himself with the cane. Yes, that would make more sense.

  • Supposedly, Lorraine got tired of Biff abusing her and Marty in the "Rich Biff timeline." She kills him in self-defense sometime in the 1990s. It still doesn't explain why Biff goes back to the original 2015, and not the alternate 2015 in the "Rich Biff timeline."

  • if biff went back into time and gave hiself the book that would make him rich why is he comming back to the the SAME 2015 does not make any sense at all

  • This is why I think they deleted the scene:

Because Biff stole the time machine in the year 2015 and gave the book to his younger self in 1955, he died before 2015. Whatever the reason for his death is, because he died before 2015 means that he wouldn't travel in time in the year 2015 to give the book to his younger self in 1955. That means he would be alive in 2015, but in the same time be dead in 2015 and that's a paradox. So, they deleted this scene to "avoid" this paradox.

  • i think he really just changed because the past changed, resulting in the future being changed around.

  • Biff starts to dissapear exactly when Doc, Marty and Einstein get back to 1985, so maybe, Biff is dissapearing because Doc hit him in the head with the door of the DeLorean on the roof of his "paradise" and probably he died there.

  • That would make since. Also he fell back on the concreate floor on the roof. Apparently, Biff's head might've received enough damage to kill him.

  • Why did Biff vanish

  • Me too. Totaly agree. =o)

  • I personally think they should have left this in. It makes much more since than Biff just acting like he's in pain for no apparent reason.

  • I always thought that Biff had seriously hurt himself when he was trying to pull his cane from the DeLorean.

  • same here!! it also it gives us more of an idea that time has already been altered, not just when marty returns to 1985

  • @superhampster They did show him catch his cane and yank it free, smacking himself in the process. So the pain made some sense. But this was a better explanation.

  • @superhampster he was in pain remember cos he broke his cain on himself, he was suppost to be an old man lol
