  • 0:19 "Cactus x36 cleared direct buckeye..." That's got to be somewhere in the Phoenix vicinity! I get to hear that a lot!

  • My dream is to fly the 737-700 for Southwest, or a 777-200 for American Airlines. For now though, i'm flying the little piston Cessna 172 for my PPL. The sky, is NOT the limit.

  • The training required to be a pilot must be scary!.

Just looking at all the technology in that cockpit makes me wonder where would you start.

Beautiful, beautiful shots with the cockpit and sky.

Thank you for these amazing videos.

  • @superbroombroom I also have a Flickr account that has a bunch of high res pics similar to that scene you described. It's the "Pics" link from my personal site at Kent Wien dot com. Thanks!

  • Strange checklist with indicators and switches, i known this is not full checklist.

  • Hi, how many days a week does a pilot have to work?

  • hey kent

iv been watching yours videos and i loved them and u really give me inspiration for being a pilot .. i got some questions to ask if i may

1.how is your life ? i know its hard but is it worth it ?

    2.do u regret it ?

3.are u married do u have kids ? how is it

4.dose it take long time to be a commercial pilot ... ?

    sorry for personal questions thx

  • 1.how is your life ? i know its hard but is it worth it ?

    I think it's better than a 9 to 5 job.

    2.do u regret it ?

Not at all. I enjoy it.

3.are u married do u have kids ? how is it?

I'm home for weekday school events very often. So I like that.

    4. Does it take long time to be a commercial pilot ... ?

When airlines aren't hiring, it can take many years. Hopefully things will turn around. Think of it as a 2-4 year commitment to get your Private/Commercial/Instrument and multi.

  • @boldlush You might also want to see my personal site at kentwien d0t com.

  • @fly4fun Private in fix wing . tried helicopter for a while never got the ad on and rising cost to hard to keep up with. havent flown fix-wing for a while (97) wanting to get back into it . So does same go for Flying Freight ? like the small Caravans. Do you have to become instructor to fly airlines ?

  • awesome!

  • Ahh the BOS - St Thomas turns. Suicide when the weather in Boston is 25 below zero and you have to do that walk around in St Thomas only to return to Boston. ;)

  • I have watched most of this mans videos and its good to see that he loves his job. I work in aviation and see so many pilots that do alot of complaining its hard to take when u see these kinds of videos and think what are they complaining about. Keep making em so kids dont give up the hope and dream of flying!

  • im sorry is that a delta 767? since youre flying out of boston i thought it could be an american 767 though

  • whats up with some video's that say

"All footage shot above 10,000 feet. "

  • @notar1 The FAA frowns on distractions below 10,000 feet, unless the parking brake is set while on the ground.

  • @fly4fun Does your airline operate the "sterile cockpit" ?

  • @AviationHD1 All airlines do, yes.

  • intersting.. thanx

  • Did you fly this leg. I noticed because the RIGHT autopilot was on instead of the normally used left autopilot?

    please respond

  • @blancfilms Usually that's the case, yes.

  • i love the 757

  • Boeing 767-400ER for Delta Airlines is my dream right now. I can't wait to start my training.

  • Beautiful imagery. The 5D mii is a fabulous camera and you used it really well.

  • guess what there landing on rwy 27 in boston

  • any tips on were to go and what to do i want to be a pilot for 757 when im older

  • Cookie,

Do well in school and surround yourself with positive people. Also go to your local airport and look into going up for a fam flight. Most airports with flight scools offer the fam flight for around $150-$200 USD. And most of all never stop dreaming about the aircraft you want to fly...if you want it badly enough eventually you will get there :). Safe travels.

  • ya i do good in school and my friends and family give my suport im goin into 3rd year secondary school[high school] ya ill hav a look into fam

    thx for the advice trip8472

  • we call it a TIF in aussie land. Trial Introductory Flight : D

  • Hey, I really wanted to fly 757/767 aircrafts but I've changed that they might not be in service in the next 10-20 years time all the new aircrafts will probably take over. I've converted to an Airbus A320 fan now, but I hope the 757/767 is still around because I want to fly them too!

  • They are out of production why would you want to get a type rating on a plane that isnt in production any longer?

  • i knw but the nose of the 757 looks awesome

and well if there not around well so be it but i also like the a330-200 300

  • The 757 is out of production...not the 767. And who fucking cares any way. I'd love to get a type rating on say a 727 even though they've been out of production for 26 years, and there are lots still flying comercially...

  • yeah, pick a newer generation plane ;)

  • i love ur work men ;)

  • WOW!!! That quality is stunning, you give youtube a good name.

Hopefully in a few years ill be up there, such a nice office love the view.

  • what kind of camera do you have?

  • I put a link to the Amazon page for it in the description since links aren't allowed in the comments.

  • now this is some serious stuff! absolutely stunning video!! thank you for very good entertainment! keep up the good work! and u just got a new subscriber!

  • Wow Ken, great videos! I'm going up to UND for commercial aviation this fall and hopefully after college i'll get hired into a regional carrier and then a major...preferably DL or AA. Do you have any advice for me? Thanks, and please check out my videos...I have a lot of NW/DL related videos because my dad is a pilot for them on the 320. Thanks again Ken.

  • awesome. DOF w/ the canon 5d is beautiful. Too bad it has the rolling shutter though.

  • One of my all time favorite video on youtube was the short clip you made for your daughter, your trip to pairs.. looks like you remove it??? I was so surprised when i found your blog a few days ago... unknowingly u became my personal hero as an airline pilot when i saw you pilot life clip :) Will it be possible to make another clip like this in HD? maybe of more duration like 15-20 min? ;) including tour of areas like crew rest area inside the airplane and other area gen public could not see :)

  • Thanks AJ.

It's not on my YouTube account anymore, as it was pulled because of the U2 song. Do a google search for "Pilot's eye view of a three day trip" and it'll be the first hit. In higher resolution than the one you saw.

I'd love to do another version someday!

  • awezome..... ;D its people like you that inspire me....

  • It's like watching an Imax movie on my PC

  • lol

  • There's a yellowish window shade pulled over the side window. Some of our 757's have this Boeing option.

  • How come at the start, the background is yellow? just wondering...

great video Kent! Can't wait until I finish training so I can get into the airlines eventually ... :D)!

  • Great video! Thanks!

  • wow great video!! 1080P at its best

  • I'm loving it so far.

  • WOW! VERY NICE!

  • Thanks for adding this one, Kent! I just practiced touch and goes yesterday and your videos inspire me to continue. I really do enjoy your videos. Also, where did you receive your training? I was looking into a flight school, like ATP vs. my current route, which is once a week with an instructor.

  • Terrific video, Kent!

  • Nice - little short between fades, but does look very nice.

  • That's impressive stuff Kent. What editing software did you use?

  • iMovie '09. Thanks!

  • . i dont know if its just me, but i find the cockpit quite romantic ..maybe the lights..hehe.. Nice Vid!

  • Well I wondered what happened to you Kent? I thought you flew off the planet or something...LOL! Great to see some more great stuff from you...hope alls well! Drew

  • Beautiful video

  • Awesome quality!

  • Its HQ (high quality) , not HD (high definition)

  • True. It was originally shot in 1080p HD, but I'm still learning how to upload it in the best quality. Any suggestions?

  • Yeah, I can see that it is recorded in HD, truly amazing quality. I don't know what program you use, so I can't help you yet. I use Sony Vegas 8, and I just searched on youtube how to upload videos so the "Watch in HD" comes up.

Very good video, although it's not viewed in HD.

  • Got it figured out now. Next one will be in HD. Or at least 720p.

  • Nice : )

  • impressive views outside

  • Great job, Kent. Thanks!

...and I think I might pick up a 5D MkII soon, too :-)

  • seriously, you make the best airline videos...

  • What airline is this?

  • Wonder why it showed Mach .786 at only 231 knots? .786 Mach should be closer to 500 knots shouldn't it?

  • IAS vs TAS

  • It depends on your altitude. The higher you get, the lower the airspeed is at a given mach number.

  • Super sweet quality. Wow.

Thanks for sharing this stuff with us. Love it!

  • Wow!!!!

  • WOW!

  • nicnice nice

  • The quality of this video is unbelievable.

  • The quality is amazing! Kent ... I'll be in France until June, if you get any Paris trips I would like to buy you a drink (to thank you for the many hours of entertainment that I got out of reading your blogs)

  • It's a deal, Vlad!

  • great video! and the camera looks great!

  • This video is great! Nice Work.

  • what a great office!
