I like Bargnani, but he's not close to Nowitzki yet. His rebounding and defense has ways to go. Dirk is not a great defender, but he often plays respectable defense, and is a solid rebounder. He's also a CLUTCH player, with so many game-winning and big-time shots under his belt. Bargnani will make it, he'll become a great player in his own right. I'm really excited for him, the same way I am Dirk. They are 2 special 7-footers!

Nowitzki wasn't a good rebounder when he came into the league either but he got better at it every year and he didn't start rebounding at the level of a 6'0" guard once he became a 20 ppg scorer like bargnani has. nowitzki got over his softness while bargnani is getting softer as the years go by.

Nowitzki has been a good rebounder since his 2nd year (6.2), who became above-average in his 3rd year (9.9), and hasn't looked back since (career 8.5). Bargs needs to improve getting defensive rebounds like Dirk, who's been a top 10 in defensive rounds in the last 10 years.

It seems you still do not understand what I am saying. I respect Dirk's game, and Bargnani still has a ways to go before he reaches Dirk's level, but Dirk is known to fade in clutch situations. Ie. vs Miami in Finals, vs GS in the first round. And, to be frank with you, I wouldn't want Dirk OR Bargnani to be taking the last shot of the game.
It seems like I'm wasting my time convincing a guy who a) hasn't been watching NBA for long and b) cannot construct a proper sentence. Oh well.

sorry, i lied, bargnani isnt bad, hes a really efficient scorer, better than dirk, but Dirk is legitimate bonafide all star who carries his team tot he playoffs every year. bargnani, maybe, if they keep bosh and him together and calderon doesnt continue to suck cock. @DannyLeigh9 he's just not as good as Nowitski...who has been to the finals and won an MVP and puts up better numbers..Bargnani can block shots..but his defending is inconsisent and his post up defence needs a lot of work..great player but he's not as good as Nowitski..(and don't worry I hate ESPN too :) )

@grasd2 The problem with Bargs is on the defensive end, he's NOT doing a good job in boxing out, he's got poor anticipation where the ball will drop, and he's got BUTTER fingers in snatching the ball. Quite a shame considering he's become an all-around shooter/scorer. He needs to improve his help defense and defensive positioning. Dirk has long improved all that I've mentioned.

@Francozilla the thing about bargnani is that he was actually a better rebounder his rookie year than he is now in his 5th year in the league, that isn't good at all. Nowitzki wasn't a good rebounder when he came into the league either but he got better at it every year and he didn't start rebounding at the level of a 6'0" guard once he became a 20 ppg scorer like bargnani has. nowitzki got over his softness while bargnani is getting softer as the years go by.

@grasd2 ah yes the PER 48 thing, yes it's worse this year than his rookie season, but take note also he's playing out of position, he's NOT a center, he's a PF/SF. The Raptors need a true center. Nowitzki has been a good rebounder since his 2nd year (6.2), who became above-average in his 3rd year (9.9), and hasn't looked back since (career 8.5). Bargs needs to improve getting defensive rebounds like Dirk, who's been a top 10 in defensive rounds in the last 10 years.

nah hes an average man defender against centers. he isnt gonna contain them but there aren't much people that can in the league. they can't guard him either, and as a bonus, his shooting draws other center away from the rebounds. look at his games against howard and yao this year for example.
