At one point the government/flight authorities allowed the families of the victims to listen to it. They of course investigated it very thoroughly as well, however the families did not want it to be released to the public out of respect...Im sure thats still the case.

@ManWit2Thumbs, true enough they didn't have an idea what was about to happen but the sad part is they did receive a text message warning from the United Airlines dispatcher "beware of cockpit intrusion" but couldn't wrap their brains around the importance of that message.
