  • Wait, so it's for MP/H and to get KM/H you have to convert it yourself?

  • @xYukicore777 no, you just use the scale you want, if you wanna measure km, just make your object run for exact 1km and time it, the number is equal to the speed.

  • option A is hilarious !!

  • Totalay useless becuse how do you know you have traveled one mile or you as in normal vehicles you ALWAYS got something that tell you at what speed your goin.

  • @Jakelol1980 You have to start at a known distance such as the start/finish line of a 1 mile long track. All a tachymeter does is convert elapsed time in seconds per unit to units per hour.

  • @YouSoundButtHurt And that is = Useless

  • @Jakelol1980 You may not have much use for it but it's not useless. You can use it to measure all sorts of things really.

  • Wow, the child did a great job explaining it! Thanks for wasting my time. Without even using my watch, I can tell you that what I just saw sucked @ 3minutes and 46seconds per video.

  • @milogtc LOL

  • Thank you! I needed that info!

  • I want this video on my V186 unit.

  • I dont need a tachymeter.. Normaly there is a car behind me with red and blue lights and a display telling me to pull over.. Than a verry kind man always tells me how fast i was goin and asks me if im okay. The cool thing is: This guy doesnt even need a tachymeter

  • Lol. Cute video. Great explanation. Thanks!

  • so why did they put it on my watch?? I dont even have a car... And isnt it common that a car can calculate that shit itself????

  • @HyNiJo damn right! xD

  • tachymeter indicates the RPM of the watch

  • Your video went viral on Lisbon

  • this is pretty dumb. if a 2 year old can explain this, how come i never understood a word of what you said!

  • Right two year old child, explain to me what one actually is. This video is a bit crap to be honest!

  • Erm fuck it. I'm asking either my math teacher or my Physics teacher.

  • häh ?

  • Who needs Id rather use my phone with GPS

  • I don't get it.

  • An outdated system, much like a watch.

  • Very Informative. Like the test at the end too!

  • what is the point of these haha? How do I know i've gone 1 mile? i think ill just use my speedometer in my car...

  • Rather than a meter of some kind it's more of a ready reckoner

  • who said "6" just for the fun of it lol

  • now i have a reason to go faster than 60mph in my car at all times...so i can use my expensive watch

  • i never needed the feature, i just buy the Chronograph Watch because it looks cool

  • lol I was expecting something more complex :D

  • Yes google and youtube come to the recue yet again. It should be called a tacky-ometer. Get it?

  • can you read the speed meter if you are drving?

  • @exploreryen whahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.... whwwaaaaaaahaaaaaaahahahahahahaha.. Thats the funiest thing ive ever read.

  • sorry I just get it (finally ;)). For example, a car finish 1000m in 30 seconds, looking at the tachymeter number, it says 120, hence the car speed is 1000m * 120 = 120,000 m/h or 120km/h. Another example, a ball finish 400m in 15 second, using the tachymeter, we see it's 240 so the speed of the ball is 400m * 240 = 96,000 m/h = 96 km/h. I hope this helps, Cheers ;)

  • hey guys,

  • Good, now I know what is does I also know I don't need one!

  • I paid attention and still don't get it

  • i couldn't upvote enough

  • So its a stop watch, with a linked cross reference system?

  • I have a ferrari watch and there are three small reading stuff in it. i know 2 of the that 1 is for date and other is for 24 hour time but the 3rd 1 is still unknown.... it has written 7,5,2 on it with equal distance in round and when i press its button its dial moves form 7 to 5 and press then to 2 or b/w 2 and 5...... so what's its use?????

  • @thematrate Hmm.. Interesting.. you are victim of an alien spacewatch which is used to irritate you... I say: Call the authorities on this one!!

  • you need to know the exact distance of what you're timing to calculate the speed if im not wrong.

  • I still dont get it...

  • So to use a tachymeter... you have to be exactly 1 mile away from the moving object to measure it's speed... When would this be useful? How would you know if something is exactly 1 mile away?

  • @OrangePHX They were developed for motorsport use (typically rally) in the 60's (possibly earlier). Given current gps data-logging technology they're more a novelty these days than a tool to estimate average speed (which is useful in motorsports).

  • or D. Six.

    LOLLOLLOLLOL

  • very nice, this was the only video that make me understand it! TKS

  • I have a Fossil CH2644, and the tachymeter second hand is a small one so I can't read the measure of the speed. Can anyone help me to explain the way of read it or the way to works correctly?

    Thanks!!

  • so simple a child could explain it.. thats why i had to google it.. guess im a retard..

  • @davmth1 Ah, not knowing and not understanding are two different things.Just because you didn't know how to use it because it was never explained to you, doesn't mean you're less intelligent than a child.

  • @davmth1 Gave me a good laugh. I had to google it as well :D

  • @davmth1 haha me too

  • WOOO!!! I finally got it!!! (I really laughed at "6" LOL)

  • WOOO!!! I finally got it!!! (I really laughed at "6" LOL)

  • Now I know what is it...but why is it so popular for a watch to have this as it seems to be useless unless you are a car racer?

  • @ankylau911 i think a good way to put it for you in an everyday use, is say you take a furlong which is 1/8 of a mile. (220 yards) if you saw someone running a 200m dash which is roughly 220 yards, you could use your tachymeter, than whatever variable you land on, you could divide it by 8 and thats how fast that person would be running!

  • I had to watch it 2 times, but I understand.

  • @o1f9k92 mee too hahah

  • The Tachymeter is a fractional time-based simplification reference to find out ratios of units produced in an hour by studying how many seconds it took to accomplish the task. Reading the Tachymeter is easy: establish a parameter (ex. one mile) and then start your stopwatch and stop it when it finishes the parameter (ex.finish a mile). Look at your Tachymeter and where the second hand touches, and voila, it shows how many of whichever unit you timed it will produce in an hour.

  • Fantastic, that will come in handy the next time someone asks "Has anybody got a tachymeter?"

  • how about the other three hands? what are they there for?

  • Thanks for a video that's both informative, and funny. Well done!

  • I still don't get it . What the fuck ?

  • i use to know than i forgot and than now again i found out how to read it ... thanks :D

  • @Oaklio lol, me

  • wisdom++

  • Who else read it as 'tacky meter'?

  • Hi, therefore the hand which is normally used as a 'seconds' hand only set in motion whilst making use of the tachymeter right? It's not in motion whilst its not being used? Thanks :)

  • Thx for explanation but I find it useless...

  • good

  • or the much simpler way of explaining it is, its used to measure the per hour calculations.......

  • Great vid! Thanks for explaining!

  • wow i am 10 years old and i have a fossil 10 atm chronograph watch and that really helped to know what a tachymeter ment.

  • Now, even this 42 year old child can easily read a tachymeter, Thank you Rich!

  • Nice video and some exellent watches there.

  • Great video. Easy to understand. Makes me wonder why watch makers populate watches with all these ugly extra numbers for a feature you would probably never ever use in your whole life. Even if rare occasion comes up, chances are you wouldn't have a full km or mile to work with at constant speed. So you would still end up having to use a stopwatch time with a simple division calculation.

  • A. 43 seconds per hour

    or

    D. Six

  • @ctbd23 i know i laughed so hard when i read that....

  • how do you operate the tachymeter feature on the Victorinox chrono classic? The two buttons on the watch is for the red stop watch timer hand.

  • this clock is very prety and very fhasion.good look for the sales rolex.....!!!!!!!exits!!!my goodfrens never give one.!fuck men!

  • @Fexe2010 what the fuck are u saying??

  • this clock is very prety and very fhasion.good look for the sales rolex.....!!!!!!!exits!!!

  • Thanks for the information, very informative

  • D.Six

  • Gray and sons is a rip off jewler that makes more off the sale of your item than you made of your own item. They make LOWBALL offers (even on high grade emeralds and diamonds)

If you have $30,000 worth of jewelery they will sit there and offer you $4000 for it, even with appraisals ranging in the $30's and certification of the gems. Then they will sell it for $16K and make $12K off your own jewelery. Thieves..Dont do business with these crooks

  • awesome video.

  • so how about if the object travel more than 60 seconds??..how to read the tachymeter bezel??

  • hey my watch is chronograph but doesnt have anything that resembles a tachymeter at all. wtf? is it only on certain kinds? like since mine has analog watch hands and the rest is didgital is that it?

  • Good tutorial. I laughed at the alternatives "a" and "d".

  • I went to the trouble of learning how to set a very expensive watch for a 'friend' who couldn't be bothered to read the manual. It was supposed to be a gift for his father. After learning how to use the watch, I would teach him and he would teach his father. I learned how to use the tachymeter and tested my knowledge by doing time-distance-speed problems. After all that effort he wasn't interested in learning anything.

Lesson learned! Don't go to the bother of helping unappreciative people!!!

  • Much obliged -thorough, yet short, sweet, and to the point, and let me know how to use the bezel on my new chronograph.

  • so it goes by miles?

  • @XxBK201xX it's supposed to be independant of mph or km/h as you can use both.

  • @BlakeVII It's the "per hour" wich is most important. Then you could put in any given unit you like for as long as you're using the same units in the question and the answer. :)

  • good tutorials

  • ITS D!!!!!!

  • thank you realy help me now i'm better than a 3 yars old child yaay

  • Fuck off you little douche, go and see a therapist because you obviously have mental problems. Im going to block you now so I can never see your reply and therefore you lose, I win. Fuck off and have a nice day.

  • @J0RDSKI HAHAHA i hope you realize you sent both of those HAHA thats fuckin hilarious. I bet you were trying to think of something really good and after you typed you had a better idea but instead of canceling you posted it HAHA what a fagget. Uh oh i spelt a word wrong get the grammar police out here stat. I guarantee you read this too HAHAHAHAbitch

  • lmao at 6

  • dude sweet.

  • what kind of rolex was that gold one?

  • uuuhm, what??i'm with scottfreak

  • Why did i even go to 3 different jewelry stores to ask this questions (which was not answered) when i own the internet.

  • @LBTennis Lol did you not watch the video? Even a small child with a toy car understands, joke lol I have one on my watch so I just youtube'd it and bamn.

  • @J0RDSKI Did you not read my comment? Even a small child could see that according to your comment, you didnt.

  • @LBTennis lol what that makes no sense, obviously I read your comment that's how I replied to it. Why waste your time going to 3 jewelry stores when you can just youtube it and watch this video?

  • @J0RDSKI You comment makes no sense if you had read my comment. Bc thats not the only reason i went to the jewelry stores you fool. I was trying watches on and figured they would be able to read one but they couldnt, so i youtubed it. Your a genius, i swear.

  • @LBTennis I know thanks, At least I can spell your instead of starting a comment with you lol.

  • @J0RDSKI Ahhh the old fall back "you misspelled a word so you must be a retard." Im sorry little boy. I thought i was conversing with an adult. I guess not. Get back to your studies young man/lady.

  • @LBTennis Dude you obviously have issues so im just not going to feed into them, otherwise you will probably molester a small child in frustration of your defeat. Im going to block you now so i will never see your reply and therefore I win. Also I suggest you go to a therapist for your special needs, fuck off and have a nice day.

  • Thnx man!!

  • I found this video beneficial because I just bought a new Sokonda watch.

    I believe to some up:

*To work out the Tachymeter ( E.g. M/ph or K/ph) is worked out by timing on your watch how far (Car or plane) got from 'A' to 'B' ( Fixed distance ).

    Thankyou for posting this video.

  • traveling at a fixed DISTANCE!!!!...hahaha....@ 1:00min

  • thanx too much

  • Ok I get it. I dont think I will use it even once...I wonder what other things it does...

  • thanks.

  • i still dont get it

  • is it supposed to move slowly around, because mine ticks like a normal ticker

  • The watches shown are automatic movement, in which the second hand sweeps. In other words it tick many times every second.

  • thnx man

  • It's not D? =P

  • Thank you for the clear explanation.

    Cheers

  • Wow, thanks a lot. I was confused. The manual that came with my watch told me nothing. And for a $150 watch, I got a good tachymeter. Mine starts at 500 and ends at 60.

  • Thanks for uploading!

  • Thank you very mauch ... I have bought a new watch, but I didn't know how is it work properly .......

    My Regard

  • i bought a new casio watch with a tachymeter i didnt know wot its for thanx

  • Wow BROTHER ...!!

  • Nice vid oh and thanks helped me out alot. Though I bought a junk watch that will teach me not to read. Thanks again

  • oh, thats wt it is

    thanks a lot

  • thank god

  • thanks this is much easyer than i think

  • only works when you know the distance

  • Great explanation, thanks now I know definitely know how to use this feature. Sweet

  • I "appreciate" you guys helping others "appreciate" the beauty and complication of mechanical timepieces.

    -Thanks

  • APPLE KEYNOTE!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • But it does not explain everything. It also helps in calculating nautical-miles into kilometers (or regular miles) and many other

  • This helped. Thanks.

  • very good vid ;) now i know how to use it )
