It's exactly as far as I think because I lived there for 6 months, about 1 mile from from the Olympic stadium and about 4 miles from the Drum Tower, I rode my bike by both of them on many occasions.

A knife-wielding Chinese budhist rligion man attacked two relatives of a coach for the U.S. Olympic men's volleyball team at a tourist site in Beijing, killing one and injuring the other on the first day of the Olympics on Saturday..The man then committed suicide by throwing himself from the second story of the site.

I don't remember the name of that building but I was there myself and as I remember it's some kind of temple but I will have my wife look at it (she Is Chinese and from Beijing) and she can tell me what building it is and I will post it here.
I will also try to get more info from China about this incident and post it here as well.

The building is Drum Tower in the center area of Beijing. It is a famous ancient building. Chinese authority news press has reported the event. The victim is a relative of US Olympic coach.

Beijing for it's size and population is one of the safest cities in the world for foreigners, I've spent 6 months there so I know firsthand!
If a Chinese national attacks, kills or harms a foreigner especially an American their ass is in DEEP SHIT!
I broke up a fight between 2 Chinese that 9 other Chinese couldn't break up because when I steped between them they were afraid that if I was injured in any way they would go to jail!

It's exactly as far as I think because I lived there for 6 months, about 1 mile from from the Olympic stadium and about 4 miles from the Drum Tower, I rode my bike by both of them on many occasions.
When I say the Chinese people are peaceful people I'm refering to the people in general not the government, to say that Chinese are evil is like saying people from Maldives are gay!
