1950? Larwood was 1932 (and, according to reputation, frighteningly quick. Note though that the injury to Oldfield wasn't the bowler's fault; the batsman edged the ball into his own head. You can bet that smarted).
Excellent collection. Note Mike Proctor's open-chested frontal action. I used to like taking it off for fun as a kid. Holding's action is so smooth, Marshall deceptively quick. Lillee and Trueman the best 2 fast bowlers here, i'd say. A pity the great Syd Barnes of Wales and England isn't there, he had the best test average, but of course that was early days- in his mid 50s he helped Wales beat the West Indies.
lillee, trueman and akram... possibly the finest left arm bowler there ever was. That being said all these blokes are legends in this clip. Pity Ambrose and Walsh weren't included.
best two quicks? trueman nowhere close to akram, marshall or younis, who may have been the most unplayable quick ever for 3 or 4 years(despite all things people say about him
Agreed. The videos are all separate items on my web site, but someone wanted to see just the bowling bits and I agreed to do a quick and dirty compilation for them. If anyone's got time to take all my videos (see URL link above) and produce a proper titled, edited, professional movie, please contact me - all help accepted!
