2:48 - Yes, take the Magicite. It's the only way to get a Ribbon for everyone, and you can get infinite numbers of some of the best pieces of equipment in the game with it. Not to mention you can technically get an infinite amount of Ragnaroks in this version of the game (not including the Ragnarok glitch).
Thanks for the shout out buddy! I'm glad I could be of help with those Slagworms! Since in the Advance version, the game doesn't end at the final boss, I actually also take the esper in this version.
Nice job against Leviathan! He can be tough if he spams his water attacks like he did. Did anyone else expect Terra to wake up alone on a shore somewhere?
Good luck against Gigantaur. MAKE SURE YOU CAST RERAISE!!! That will be the ONLY way you can possibly win this fight. To be continued...
Also, may I suggest equipping the Genji Glove + Master Scroll on Locke with the Valiant Knife. When his HP gets knocked down, the Knife will do a lot of damage, 8times! Also, Dragoon Edgar or Mog really helps in that battle, as if you get lucky, they'll be in the air when Gigantaur uses 1000 Needles. Good luck. It might take a few tries to beat him.
You know what's just as cheap as equipping Saucers/Reed Cloaks/Tortoise Shields? Using Gau with Aspiran Rage (water absorbtion and a Lightning attack).
Anywho, if you manage to find a really easy/cheap way to kill Gigantuar, I'll eat my hat. And this isn't an average baseball hat I wear--it's an effing sombrero! lol...
You can get Tortoise Shields from a certain enemies, same with Saucers (I forget which enemies have them as steals/drops). Maybe check your Bestiary to see which ones. I do know that Reed Cloaks can be dropped by Tyrannosaurs in the Dinosaur forest. All of these absorb water and give poor defense boosts unless the character equipping them has imp status.
3:01 - It is also the most bugged Esper in existence. If you take it into the Veldt and morph enemies there, you can get almost anything (I think the only things you can't get are the Ultima Weapon, Ragnarok and Lightbringer, but you can get an infinite amount of those in this version anyway).
I actually prefer getting the sword than the magicite. Why? Well, you can learn Ultima from the Paladin Shield, and besides, it doesn't give you any stat boost. Also, with the sword, it makes things easier, as it has a chance to cast Flare when hitting an enemy with it, I think it's 25%.
...Why would you willingly give up a shot at an esper in exchange for a sword that you can get elsewhere in-game? You can get infinite Ragnaroks from Lady enemy in the final boss battle!
Uh, did you read my comment? It's explained there. Besides, I don't like the esper Ragnarok, it doesn't give any stat boost and the spell can be learned from the Paladin Shield. The most useful thing you can do with it is turn monsters into items, which is lame IMO, as you can get them from the Colosseum.
You can't teleport out of the castle cvause you'd pop up on the world map with the castle stuck in the ground :3

Glad to hear you also take the Esper. I always go for a complete collection.
Congrats on pulling it out against Leviathan...and he's the easy one of the three! ;)

Yeah, that's right. I don't know why I didn't think of that before.

But you have that gap in your esper list.
TriforceSD 2 years ago
I don't care about that. I prefer having something I find useful to something that just fills a gap.
Galdhon 2 years ago
Really? I didn't know you could get the Ragnarok sword elsewhere.
Percypl 2 years ago
Yeah, you can steal Ragnaroks from Girl on the the last tier of the final battle, right before Kefka.
So technically, you could get as many Ragnaroks (and ultimately, Lightbringers) as you wished and still keep the esper.
