i think these would be useful in the ring or in compitions rather than daily practices.. as someone posted, you don't want to tell your dog it's okay to hit the tire when they jump. I say use a collapsable at home and encourage displaceables in compitions :) just an opinion, but this is a fantastic invention!

I would hesitate to train on one of these regularly until they are made regulation in competition. I'd hate to train a dog that it's ok to hit the tire, only to have them knock themselves out when the tire doesn't give as they expected it to. I want my dog to be a LITTLE careful, just as I want them to be on teeters and dogwalks and such.

The dog that hit the tire hit it exactly how my Sheltie Yoshi hit a tire and caused him to have a big injury. We escaped surgery though, with a lot of crate rest. I still am very scared to jump tire jumps with him. I wish that everyone used these tire jumps..it could have done a lot for Yoshi.
