  • Abney Park should release an an acoustic album - this is brilliant.

  • You might be an 8th level cleric magic user, but you're a 40th level fewl.

Peter Murphy -is- great...and would be embarassed over 'fans' like you.

  • if you haven't figured it out yet this isn't Bauhaus there something else entirely with there own sound

  • It's so awesome. I wish they'd actually release an acoustic album, this sounds so great!

  • This is really cool. I can understand the lyrics in this version, thus enjoying it more.

  • I was blown away by the concert at Dragon*Con, but missed this performance. Thanks so much for posting this vid! Stigmata Martyr is one of my favorites of theirs, and it sounds at least as good acoustic.

  • Doesn't it, though?

AP's material lends itself so well to an acoustic setting that I was floored when I sent the usual email to them (as I do for all bands scheduled to play D*C) asking if they could do an acoustic show on the Concourse stage at D*C, and they said "We've never done it before, but we'll try!"

  • this is awesome. Im too old to know who the hell these guys are but I really would have loved to have been in this room. From what Ive tried on itunes I like this better than anything theyve done. So glad you were there and shared this. is this your built in mic?? sound is really good .

  • Yep, that's the built-in mic on a JVC Everio GZ130, 30Gb HDD model. It works pretty well with acoustic shows...not as well with fully-amped performances, although I fared surprisingly well at The Cruxshadows' show at D*C that year.

BTW, I was the one who scheduled Abney Park for this performance, but unfortunately I couldn't avoid the 'morning after' time slot.

Gotta give credit to the band Emerald Rose, who kindly donated their awesome Bose tower system for this stage at D*C.

  • Fantastic!

  • That's some serious awesome. Robert's singing style really works well for the acoustic composition.

  • I'll put up some more vids from their performance shortly.

Really, I wish they could have done TWO shows on the Concourse, but my schedule was full...and they did tell me beforehand they'd never performed acoustic before. Hard to believe consider the organic nature of their material!

  • I saw this absolute awesomeness too...I'm the big chick in the corset in the background of the video, bobbing to the music...actually it was my butt shaking spontaneously, but since it was being sat on, the rest of me had to move instead! :P

I think they should do an accoustic album it was so awesome hearing them do it live!

  • I saw this! These guys were unreal! I was just fascinated and when I spoke to their fellow at the table he mentioned it was their very first acoustic work in public but it sounded like they had done it all their lives! I love the electric version, too, though. It is my song on MySpace.

  • lol you got the back of my boyfriend's head :) hehe. Abney Park is absolutely fantastic.

  • I was there as well helping to pass out the lyrics sheets. I missed the plugged in set due to a conflict with another concert *sigh* However I have a friend who wants to kidnap me and bring me to Seattle.

  • This will sound odd to anyone who HASN'T been to Dragon*Con before, but I can't remember if I saw AP's full stage show or not. (!)

I can't think of anything I was doing otherwise, and I think I remember thinking "I'm too far away to get good video"...which might not have been the case, considering my Ego Likeness and Hellblinki Sextet vids came out okay....
