I think you are missing the point, the Iraqui ressources are just an optional looting, the revenue the people in power make is by plundering the american people and the US treasury to the tune of billions and the OIL corporations dont want the oil as much as they want to prevent the oil from reaching international markets so they can get away with gauging and profiteering on jacked up oil price also to the tune of billions
