I don't think he has any issue against homosexuals. He clearly says that there is no reason to criminalise them. However he has repeatedly expressed that one of the key factors for a stable country is social peace (racial and religious cohesion). Thus he feels that legalising homosexual marriages and extended rights will cause a social outrage because (as of the present) the majority of the community are against homosexuals. In the future, the majority will become the minority.
I am new to Singapore but I find that that usually the older people are very ignorant and diseptive but the younger people are the completly different I think in around 10-20 years Singapore will have a good leader that will do things like legalize marijuana for medical purposes and legalize gay marriage.

I think it's good that we've got someone in the higher echelons actually agreeing with the populace on the issue of homosexuality. Legally I guess, it boils down to what the country considers to be 'harmful' to society. Clearly, what 2 men do within the confines of their own home does not and should not 'harm' anyone else. Why then are we prohibiting them from doing so, and making homosexuality illegal in the eyes of the law? I'm all for repealing the arcane law. Hong Kong did - so should we.

actually being gay is genetics, I am an undergrad in biomedical science and we did this research for our human genetics module. for leukemia, it is genetic, parents don't have to be a victim, but they are carriers, meaning they both carry the mutant gene responsible for leukemia and unfortunately for the kid he got both the dominant mutated chromosome causing leukemia.
