This Soundstage performance was far better than the first one they did on The Midnight Special. Today Journey has evolved in to what I would call a cover band within themselves. Arnel is an impressive vocalist, however, not to insult the wave of Pinoy pride over in the Philipines, Perry made these songs popular. My thought was this, Their new CD with Arnel spotlights some newer material, in which Arnel is singing in his own style. Yes, he does perform the older material quite well in my opinion.

I have always loved Journey but just this week realized that it was actually Steve Perry "The Voice" that I really loved. This video is one of the reasons-I just love his voice! I have been obsessed with him all week (more than the usually listening to Journey often) and I have seen, heard and learned more about Steve in the past few days than I ever knew. I just wish I would have gotten to see him live before he stopped touring.
