It used to be where the druids of azeroth monotoring the eb and flow of life in Azeroth (the two are connected), and erosion does not exist there. But the nightmare took over with Lethons (Deathwings) help, and the barriar between the two were shattered (thus the cataclysm was created) Full story in Blizzars novle "Stormrage".

In my opinion, the Emerald Dream would make a very iffy expansion.

Gameplay wise-

A land untouched by Civilization of any sort. Only known enemy's that could be here are the Infinite Dragonflight, and the Emerald Nightmare. It seems kinda like Outland with less to work with.

Lore wise-

It would be awesome.

yeah, if it was the target of its own expansion it might be kind of lame unless it added a lot of new content outside the Emerald Dream as well. Actually, it might be cool if they made an expansion that utilized the Dream and added new instances and narrative content to vanilla, BC and Northrend all at once so players were spread out all over the world. It's kind of stupid how all the old places in the world basically become useless after new expansions come out.

I totally agree! It's basically why I made this video. I always found the Dream to be WoW's most mystical and amazing place and really wanted to make a video of my exploration through it. Fun times :) Thanks for comment.

lol I don't think you used "napp" in the right context...in fact I don't think that's really even a word. It's only got one post on UD and nothing on ED.

Also, I believe you have the directions for entering the Emerald Dream confused. Perhaps you should refer to an Emerald Dream how-to/tutorial video. This is an "artistic exploration video," or at least my attempt at one :)

i believe it was originally designed to be added through a large content patch or expansion, but was eventually just left as a hidden zone. I believe that Blizzard is still planning some sort of implementation though. rumor has it anyways ;)

In WOTLK there is a quest in which you enter the "Emerald Dream" but it's not the place in my video. The place in WOTLK is simply a mask over Moonglade that adds weird shadow mobs and makes it look a little different (kind of a cheap way of doing things IMO, but it's interesting nonetheless).

The Emerald Dream in my video however, has existed for a long time (pre-BC I believe) and can't be reached by questing.

Nice vid. Although the portal u enter is in hinterlands. ( there are many same portals but i recognise it from the dragon and the path). i tried to enter and nothing happens.... second, when u enter it about 0:26 the place is separated to snow and mud (this is a bugged ground) this ground only exists in bug places which people are normally not able 2 go.... (how do u go there though?)

the portal is actually in Ashenvale in an area called "Bough Shadow." This portal is only used as a transition for the production and serves no real connection to the "exploit."

Second, the bugged ground is common throughout all of Vanilla WoW in areas that players aren't generally expected to reach. These areas, including this one, are simply shown to provide hints at where players may potentially find answers to their questions. Happy hunting.

this is the original zone for the Emerald Dream. I think what you may be referring to is the quest in Lich King where you fall asleep and go into the Nightmare. Two totally different experiences.

I also would note that the Emerald Dream "expansion" to my current knowledge is just a rumor. I don't think Blizzard has actually announced anything about it.

You are right this is the original zone, this may or may not be ever used. Blizzard is known to make thing then remake them 100% different.

However, Emerald will be a "expansion" pack one day. Not saying it will be the next one or the one after.

Back when WoW was still being made. Blizzard did say that ED will be a big part of druid for the game. Also ED is a big part of the lore too.

Will it be the next expansion? Maybe, maybe not. it's possible, but one day it will become one.
