I know that Max & Paddy were great in Phoenix Nights, but the lack of any decent writing meant that this was absolute garbage. The fact Dave Spikey and Neil Fitzmaurice weren't writers for this show (whereas they were on Phoenix Nights, and That Peter Kay thing in Spikey's case) is massively obvious.
