A very entertaining speed run. But why bother getting the grappling beam now after you gotten the space jump? Seems like you could beat the whole game without ever picking it up. And save you some time too.

I guess that explains why you waited this long to fight him when the game normally intends for you to get the grapple beam long before the space jump and plasma beam... Well, for the sake of speed-runs, killing bosses in as little time as possible is a really good decision...

Someone tell me please, why is it so that in some rooms, you can space jump each time you press the jump button, but in other rooms, it doesn't seem to work at all, or at least to some degree!

You're probably using improper technique in some rooms, you can space jump everywhere. Though if you are around the surface of the water it can sometimes mess you up.
