Hi. well, it's tradition ... so for the first year , we celebrate each month -- much like a small bday party. then after the first year-- we do it every year like everyone else. whether it was tradition or not, and whether i knew how to make cakes or not..having waited so long to get pregnant-Id celebrate each day to be honest :)

Ow, what a cute tradition! I have made a huge cake for my daughters 1st birthday last week. Cake decorating = soo much fun! And yesm you should enjoy and celebrate every day, it's such a special thing to be a mum!

the fish are supposed to be made of modelling paste or gumpaste... i think back them i did not know much about it yet. these were most probably fondant :)

oh, how sweet ! thank you!!! you will have lots of time to make your cake then! once the cake is laid with fondant, it will be a max of 2 days ... then that's the event right-- after the event, any leftovers can be refrigerated. so make the cake at the very most 2 days before the event if you want it fresh and not frozen. i havent tried freezing my cakes .

I have been watching your videos for almost 24 hours straight LOL! I LOVE your work. You are fantastic and I just love learning from you. I am brand new to the fondant world and I only wish I had half your talent. I am really hoping to pull off some of your techniques for my lil' girls cake this weekend. She was born with cancer and an auto-immune disease and deserves the best I can give her. I'll let you know how it turns out. THANKS SO MUCH 4 showing us your work!

Oh thank you !!! If the cake is relatively simple, it will take 2 days... bec i make the actual cake a day ahead... but if the cake needs more details, i'd start a week early for the figures, and two to three days before the event for the actual cake... but i only have time to make this at night when my boy is asleep already... so that's why it takes me along time :)
