  • Q loucura esse jogo, ainda mais quando vc tem essa versao original......

  • @origindirewolf

    Its a circle ~

  • ...why does everything japanese have a min thirty intro?

  • I like the fire effects in the snes version a lot more.

  • its richter belmont, dxc version looks better

  • he is ryu of street figthers (o.O)?

  • That's okay if you don't complete a level without losing a life. At least you're honest. I think that it's best to be honest in your gameplay. I like that, and you play this game very well. ;)

  • Ryu belmont xD

  • @phantomLost666 remember the katakana Ryu Berumondo :D

  • Wait, is this meant to be Simon Belmont, or Ryu from Street Fighter?

  • This totally rapes the American version.....

  • @rang3r34

Indeed and this is the real version

  • @Johnlindsey289 This one is up there with Castlevania SOTN!

  • Ryu Belmont

  • hadou-ken belmont

  • Comment removed

  • This looks cool and I want to download it on Virtual Console.

But who else thinks it sucks that Castlevania 4 is the ONLY one where you can whip in eight directions. C'mon, I know someone out there agrees with me. Hell, even in Cadash you can attack in eight directions!

  • @tiakpark

I've played dracula X chronicles, and I was dissapointed when i realsied that you can only attack horizontally with your whip

  • What happens when you kidnap a Belmondt's significant other? I will tell you...someones about to get fucked up...and his name starts with a D...

  • yes! ryu! by the way in the castlevania wiki says that richter resembles ryu!

    yesz!

  • he is ryu belmont?

  • massive link to simons quest

  • LOL, HE LOOKS LIKE RYU.

  • that skeleton screaming at 3:35 was just wierd.

  • Ryu?! Why are you a Vampire Hunter? xD

  • what the fuck is a rondo?

  • @origindirewolf Some musical thing. A type of song.

  • @origindirewolf From the Castlevania:Rondo of Blood entery : The word is the Japanese term for samsara, the Buddhist cycle of death and rebirth. So basically, Circle of Blood, which makes perfect sense with the whole Dracula "every 100 years" resurrection awesome-sauce.

  • @origindirewolf Rondo meaning is: return, so return of blood is the english grammar of the title.

    Hope this help :)

  • @origindirewolf a rondo is a temp setting normally seen in orchestral music. its fast and normaly has a main part that repeats itself AKA the rondo

  • @origindirewolf A rondo means "circle" in spanish too

  • @seedhwoa its an inside joke, i was hoping a friend would see my comment

  • @seedhwoa no it doesn't. I live in Venezuela so my principal language is spanish, i think the word you were thinking of was ''redondo'' and that word means ''round''...

  • @origindirewolf

It CAN be a musical term, but the actual definition is "to return" a repeat or a circle. So when I think of it; I think "Circle of Blood" sounds pretty cool.

  • @origindirewolf Rondo and its French part-equivalent rondeau are words that have been used in music in a number of ways, most often in reference to a musical form, but also to a character-type that is distinct from the form. Although now called rondo form, the form started off in the Baroque period as the ritornello, from the Italian word ritornare meaning "to return" – indicating the return to the original theme or motif ("A").

  • @wildbird5150 go ahead, reply to an 11 month old comment. -_-

  • @origindirewolf what's the big deal?

  • Is there any other characters to rescue or play as???

  • @ssjmg003 There is another character to play as. Her name is Maria. She's a little girl, around five. I prefer to play as her, because she can dash and double jump. But she takes double damage.

  • is this a emulator if so where can i download is if not where can i get a pc engine

  • WHY WAS THIS NEVER RELEASED IN AMERICA?!

  • the psp remake its also good and it comes with this version and symphony of the night :D

  • 3:01 Richter simply kills that guy with the sheer magnitude of awesome vested within himself.

  • xbla now please xbla now. and psn too i guess but just do that version like whatever konami.

  • @nubia1991 Its already out on Wii :)

  • can he brandish the whip or do you need a power up or something?

  • don't worry you're not the worst... my friend james is...

  • How does the PC Engine version compare to the SNES version?

  • How do you get rondo of blood?

  • level 1 is like a remake of that town in simons quest

  • @mrbelmont2000, You mean the Snes version tries to emulate this gem but with major differences?

  • 8 directional whipping is for pussies, this is how the game should be played.

  • You don't have the eight-way directional whip in this game, do you?

  • THIS DAMN GAME IS FKIN HARD!!!

    but it is amazing :D

  • this game looks just like dracula x for the snes but with some differences

  • You can buy this game now on WIi Virtual Console for 900 points.

  • Comment removed

  • lmao at richter's headband, only konami could take the most european warrior type and still make him look japanes XD

  • i like this game better than dracula x

  • That's so creepy... my name is Justin too, and I use it as my name in this game!

  • Cool! The town looks just like the one in Castlevania II! Wow, this is way better than Dracula X for the SNES.

  • I completed this game today. It's hella fun! I'd say that it comes in second to 'Symphony of the Night'.

  • which system is this one for?

  • @robacc18

    PC Engine.

  • @robacc18 Its for Turbografx but if you wanna play it on PC there is a really cool hack that you can download. It is the full game and you can play it without an emulator or anything. If you can't find it PM me and i can send you a link

  • This game seems very ahead of it's time.. especially for a PCEngine game released back in 1993.. I wish I still had the cd I burned but it mysteriously disappeared... Anyone knows where I can find the ISO?

  • Don't get me wrong, I love the series and the music of the series. But there's always that one tiny little part in the opening song that makes you feel like you've gone from killing skeletons to ambient music at a shopping mall. from 1:03 to around 1:10

  • @chuto2 holy christ I can't stop laughing.

  • @satatami ikr? XD

  • @satatami actually there are emulators for PS2 its on zophar This was not a stupid question just written stupidly. ALL CAPS HUR DUR. I been playing rondo of blood on my PC with a PS3 controller hooked up to my bluetooth. This game is so hardcore until you unlock maria then its cake.

  • @Crayola6394 I'm no stranger to PS2 emulation, my friend. Also that question was just hilarious any way you look at it. I truly wished console architectures worked like that though.

  • @chuto2 You really need to get an education.

  • @chuto2 You are now the dumbest person i've seen on youtube so far

  • @aedeling jajajaja i know why are you saying that to me, and it's because you don't know nothing about software emulation, i'got a nes, snes, sega genesis, gameboy and gameboy color emulator in ps2 and it works very good and it is just because you don't know what you have in your hands and how make it work with its power. continue with your simple life..

  • @chuto2 You still make me laugh. It's not software emulation, its HARDWARE emulation. Those emulators work better on a virtualized windows on OS X. Read some books.

  • @aedeling jajaja what can i do with you? are you telling me that it's no possible to do it, think about it, i got some emulators it is true, and pc engine is 16 or 32 bit i think is 16 , less than sega cd actually so why not?

  • @chuto2 If you have a hacked PS2 with a PCEngine emu (if that even exists), then yes. Otherwise, no.

  • @chuto2 i have this game on my computer and its not pc or ps2 i think its on my zsnesw emulator or my visual boy but im pretty sure its the first one

  • @aedeling it you don't know it's better to keep your distance don't you think?

  • @chuto2 I hope you're not being serious. You shouldn't be asking such questions.

  • @chuto2 ahahahah

  • @chuto2 Dude just download the PSP iso. The psp version is fully translated and subbed or you could just buy it. Should be pretty easy to find in stores.

  • @chuto2 You can like... download an emulator and play it? :/

  • @chuto2 Search for PS2PCE.

  • @chuto2 you have to be joking...please for the love of god tell me you are?.

  • @chuto2 hahahaha!!

  • @chuto2 hahahaha......

  • God, this brings back so many memories...

The guy playing this is BEYOND TERRIBLE...

  • i dont get it when did this actually come out isint this on the wii? but sounds like it came out about a decade ago. even with the score thing , which was only in the begginning stagges of castlevaniaa

  • this game's epic

  • I never understood why their never put back omnidirectional whipping in Castlevania.

  • its Medieval Ryu lol!

  • Richter-Ryu rocks more than the new incarnation in Dracula X Chronicles.

  • wow that intro at the very beginning, I thought you were ripping one LOL

  • OMG this version literally shits on the SNES version!! I so need to play the Turbo Grafx version!

  • @ATLien333 snes version is the best one

  • Dude, it's true: I have the SNES version and the game is completely different.

  • @ATLien333 i think this version is available on the wii virtual console :)

  • Please tell me, am I the ONLY one that plays as Maria always? I can't lie, the game really is MUCH easier when you're Maria.

  • you can extend the whip if you press the directional pad you are facing twice right before the attack button

  • @CloudStrifeZX that's what she said hahahahahaha

  • @Ombrenuit what do you mean?

  • Did the reaper just gave me the finger 0.0.

  • dracula x is on the wii

  • If I don'tlike Symphonyof the Night's convoluted exploation, but like Super Castlevania's gameplay, would you recommend this one to me?

  • Richter walks like hes pissed off or somethin lol

  • @MaidenFan24568 Wouldn't you be pissed off if your girlfriend was kidnapped by a thousand year old demon?

  • @theAsceticWanderer

Well yeah i guess but still he walks in the same way that simon from SC4 walks so im guessing the whole belmont family are kinda pissed off.

  • I heard there's a nonstandard game over in where you get ambushed by what's called a living portrait, anyone have a video of that?

  • Just downloaded it for the Virtual Console. I can't believe Nintendo charged us 900 credits for an untouched rom. They could have at least translated it for the western world like Konami did for the PSP. Shocking but at least its finally here.

How long will we have to wait for the N64 version's I wonder? Three more year's?

  • download the wad at my video !

  • this version or the SNES version.

  • is this easier or harder than SCIV?

btw, that's the only old-school castlevania i've played (other than the original, but that's ball-sacks hard!)

  • I would say it's about the same if you play as Richter, and WAY easier if you play as Maria.

  • @satatami Bullshit, this game is MUCH harder the Super IV. I've beaten Super IV with only mild frustration, and I gave up at Rondo of Blood at stage 4 after throwing some controllers and cursing for several minutes.

  • @DrBreakfastMachine Rescue and play as maria if you find it too hard, bro.

  • @satatami I rescued her, but I haven't been playing as her. Didn't know she made it easier, I guess I should start.

  • @satatami how is this different from the snes version because in that one you start in a burning town

  • @qwertydude365 rando of blood is a lot harder than SCIV.

  • I think I should mention that the Virtual Console version is the Japanese version. The menus are in English for both versions so this isn't a bit deal but if you want the English voices you still need the Dracula X Chronicles.

  • This game is now available for Download on the Wii Virtual console!!! About time!

    GO DOWNLOAD IT WII OWNERS!

  • Cool, the main menu music was also used in the GBA title "Circle of the Moon". Nice.

  • This is on the Wii's Virtual Console now!

  • is this a sequel to dracula x for the SNES?

  • no this is the true prequel to Castlevania Symphony of the Night.

  • actually it´s the same game... storywise as far as I know. The SNES Version was made after this and had alot changes in gameplay and leveldesign. Oh btw. its the direct prequel to Symphony of the night...

  • @CFalcon095 Dracula X was a butchered port of Rondo of Blood, there are differences between the two, some are obvious and some are... no, all are obvious. Rondo of Blood was on the PC Engine in Japan, which became the TurboGrafix16 in america, but without the CD in the console. The CD part later became an add-on to the TG16.

  • Fantastic game. I may buy a turbografx16 in the future if possible. Right now i'm enjoying my genesis.

  • @awwfulwaafffle why don't you get a wii?, its going to be released for the virtual console ;)

  • because i'm a big boy, i play dawn of war: soulstorm on pc.

  • Thank you for the information!!

  • 1:29 "GRAND CROSS!!!"

  • t would of been great that this game is released for th Phillips Cd-i.

  • Nice name, Youtube

  • were does sotn fit into this

  • Sequel to this.

  • What is this game for?

  • TurboGrafx16

  • @satatami Could I play this on a normal TurboDuo? Or do I need some kind of import card? Thanks!

  • The cdrom games will play fine on the system even if they are imports, the cartridge games however need an adapter to play japanese games on the NA version and vice versa. They changed the order of the pins on the Japanese games so they are different then the NA ones. I found that out when I bought the PCE portable in japan and it wouldn't play any of my NA games lol.

  • Uhm, that's not technically correct. It's for the PC Engine, which is the Japanese version of the TG16. For whatever reason, the game never got brought to North America for the TG16.

  • Is there really any difference besides the name? I never owned one to find out.

  • Well, hardware wise no. They're identical on the inside. On the outside they're certainly quite a bit different though as the PC Engine is white and significantly smaller.

  • @satatami hey what system is this for? could i get this on a modded psp?

  • it just got released on the wii's virtual console today

  • @189micke This game was for Turbo Graphic 16. I dont know if PSP has an emulator for that. However, this game was remade for the PSP. Symphony of the Night and Rondo of Blood on the same disc.

  • @satatami Not really. The hardware is identical. The only differences are cosmetic. They made the TG16 black and significantly larger. I suppose this was due to NEC believing Americans like things "big."

  • This awesome game and many others were never released in NA because of Nintendo America. Back then Nintendo made developers sign an agreement that forbade them from releasing games for other consoles in NA if they wanted to make games for the NES, of course konami was one of the biggest NES developers at the time.

  • Why was it that only Super Castlevania 4 had eight directional attacking?

  • Was the only one to let you control your jump too.

It's because it was the best.

And because it was "Super" Castlevania.

    That's why.

  • Got a point there.

  • Castlevania IV is actually just a souped up remake of the first Castlevania (it has the same exact Japanese title as the first Castlevania), while Dracula X is an actual continuation of the regular series.

They probably just put that in so they could do all that Mode 7 rotational stuff.

Would have been nice to keep it a staple of the series though, the control in that game is a lot better than Dracula X.

  • Whether it's a remake or not (which I knew it was), it makes no difference to me. It's the best of the series IMHO.

  • I like the Stage 1 theme even though it doesn't sound Castlevania-like. Nice.

  • richter looks like ryu from street figther

  • ive played the version on the SNES. and ive got to say THIS looks a lot better.

  • ROFL the start is like a huge fart

  • Played the SNES version of this and this version and I think both version are great. Really stupid that people would dog on the Super Nintendo version of this game.

  • The SNES only has Dracula X, this is Rondo of Blood - not the same and not that diferent. Trust me you feel great by not knowing..

  • I wonder if the America Sega CD should have been powerful enough to run this game in its original format at the time the game was released. Konamji wasted a great opportunity to make money with this game by releasing in the US

  • @animeuserone I think the Sega CD is powerful enough to play the game

But ther is only one major problem the backgrounds are mostly

Raster backgrounds (In the burning village those red to black back ground)

    which the MegaDrive can't perform

Actually the perfect platform for Rondo of blood outside japan

    Is the Commodore Amiga

(a Popular personal computer in europe)

with is graphically and Audio wise better than the MD and have Sprite scaling

And a box of 10 floppydisks where worth 50 cents.

  • @animeuserone In fact, this game targeted for the Mega-CD/Sega CD before NEC snatched it away to the PC-Engine Super CD-Rom thanks to a contract with Konami.

  • cerberus

  • Whats the name of that intro song?

  • Divine Bloodline

  • Overture

  • to me: dracula x rondo of blood and castlevania shymphony of the night for psx are the best castlevanias.
