This was the first ever actual 3D fighting game ever made. Though Virtua Fighter offered 3D models, Toshinden was the first to introduce the background and forground dodging creating a whole new atmosphere in fighting games.

I always prefered the Toshinden series over Soul Blade/Edge (later on Calibur) series. Bushido Blade 1 and 2 as well :)
