  • Total fail...blood enters the right atrium via two main mechanisms in the developing fetus: from the ivc and svc (obviously) but its not so much pressure differences in the right atrium vs left atrium that directs flow through the FO? Rather blood from the ivc (containing rich oxygenated blood from the placenta) is shunted to through the eustachian valve of the IVC during atrial systole.
